The NL will finally win the All-Star Game again this year.

It's been a long time since the NL has won but there gonna win this year. First of Power we've got Utley for one (21 homers) and the AL leader I believe has 12 or 14 dingers. Another reason pitching Webb, Zambrano, Santana should all be all stars and wouldn't want to face any of them.

convincing....

Webb and Zambrano were All Stars last year in the rotation...why is this year any different for them?
Pitching? Id give the Nod to the AL: Starters like
Cliff Lee
Joe Saunders
John Danks
Daisuke
heck even Ervin Santana...
All these pitchers bring great talent and make a great startign rotatin...im not saying they will all be in it but when you have that pool of talent t pull from, you know damn well its going to be hard to hit off them...also Scott Linebrink andf Bobby Jenks as well as Scot Shields / Francisco Rodriguez are the leagues best set up and closers there are...

Utley IS doing great...but ill take a one for one player here and throw out Josh Hailtons name...he is leading the AL in RBI's HR and second in BA...sitting as a good candidate for a triple corwn award...not sayign he will get it, just saying he is a very diverse batter in all categories...

Bats? there is some talent running around the league from both sides...
While the NL hold better statistical averages...it will be interesting to see hwo well they do aganst out pitching...

I think thew AL will take the Game and the W.S. Home field...

well if you wanna talk about hamilton how about Lance "The Big Puma" Berkman and Larry "Chipper" Jones. I think they cancel out Hamilton. And for webb and zambrano they are a combined 17-3. Daisuke walks to many people and you can't walk people in the all star game and exspect to win. And I'd Take carlos Marmol against Sheilds any day. And Fransico Coredero and Brad Lidge are both on fire NL wins plus the WS

I already gave you the edge for batting...if you even read my argument you would have realized that...but i also mentined that they will be hitting agaisnt the leagues best pitchers...

If you want to compare wins/lost...which i think is dumb, then Dice-K and Saunders are a combined 17-1...which i believe is better than 18-3...but i dont like the W/L...
Janks., and Rodriguez are the best closers...while a set up is good it is better to maintain the lead in the end, which both of these guys are the best at doing..

if you wan't to talk about pitching how about edison Volquez. he hasn't given up 2 earned runs in a game for 12 straight games he even shut down my beloved cubbies. I think the NL and AL are equal on pitching but the NL's hitting will make them prevail

So your one starting pitchers balances out the leagues leading starting rotation of the AL?? come on now....lets be serious...

The AL leads the NL with a lower ERA average, a lower WHIP average few walks, less runs given up, and less hits given up...the NL leads with AL with more SO and you want to say that the NL / AL are on an equal field of pitching....your crazy....

Even with the SLIGHT edge going to the NL in batting, whic AL still hold higher BA and the same OB% the season is still far form over...i expect much decline in the hitting from the stars from the NL...the are hitting some insane #'s are for them to maintain that would be nearly impossible... also i would like to see them face the leagues best pitchers and continue there hitting ways...

Even when they face good pitchers form the NL they struggle...berkman went 1-11 against Arizona...and Utley went 3 -13 against AZ as well...and thats good pitching and they struggled....

They'll finally win the All-star game again this year

Something about the title is very contradictory. The use of the "finally" seems to imply that they haven't won it lately but the "again this year" contradicts taht.

Hamilton leads the AL with 17 Homeruns, nice try though.

Besides the All-Star starter for the NL will probably Vloquez.

I will still thake the AL until they are proven otherwise.

1st because Zambrano is much better this year, add hamels, the guy at the stick in SF, Webb, johann and these arms light up the AL.

Then add 1B -- Berkman, Pujols, Lee, ..crap the guy at 1st at SD with 17 homers). And 2 of these guys play with the DH
2B - Utley not to mention the little guy that can out in Miami who is just sick this year
SS - Ramirez, Reyes both better than anything that the AL throws-up
3B - ok AROD yes he is a beast. But, a 400 hitting chipper with 13 hrs and Wright/Ramirez at backup is solid
C -- Since the AL is convinced to vote in Varitek for some inexplicable reason. I'll take Soto
OF -- Ramires/ichiro/vlad (this is a 240 hitting vlad) yes hopefully the calvary will come in but the NL matches up fairly well and has clear advantages at 1B/2B/SS and DH (the 1B leftover of the NL).

It will be a NL year. Really Danks is the guy you are mentioning. At least say Kazmir

Yea Danks and Rodriguez are great closers, but I have a feeling the Boston Manager might be taking Papelbon. Im just saying its a hunch.

If Mussina makes the All-star game, I might start betting the ranch on the NL

were not even half way through the season and Zambrano is on his way to his stats last year...except the wins....and thats not determined soley by him....

First let me say that I hate the Yankees. However, if you think Jenks or Rodriguez is/are the best closers so far this year in the AL, you're not paying attention to what Mo's been doing or you hate the Yankees so much that you can't be objective. Check it out:

Rodriguez - 27.0 Inn - 2.00 ERA - 24 Ks - 16 BB - 1.19 WHIP
Jenks - 25.1 Inn - 2.13 ERA - 16 Ks - 7 BB - 1.07 WHIP
Rivera - 26.0 Inn - 0.35 ERA - 26 Ks - 2 BB - 0.50 WHIP

RIvera, so far, is having the best season of his career. Can he keep it up? I don't know, but he's dwarfing Rodriguez and Jenks. In fact, Papelbon is pitching better than Rodriguez and Jenks, too.

Papelbon - 27.0 Inn - 2.00 ERA - 34 Ks - 3 BB - 0.93 WHIP

Jenks is the worst of the four (still great, but the worst nonetheless) and shouldn't even be mentioned.

That being said, the AL's going to win. Again.

Vote right.
