Where will D.J. Augustin, the point guard formerly of Texas, end up in the 2008 NBA Draft?

I've seen D.J. go anywhere from 3rd to 23rd in mocks, which makes him one of the hardest players to predict in this draft.

1 and 2 are Beasley and Rose
I think that:
3-Wolves: OJ Mayo
4-Sonics: Jerryd Bayless
5-Grizzlies: Eric Gordan
6-Knicks: Danilo Gallinari
7-Clippers: Brook Lopez
8-Bucks: Darrell Arthur
9-Bobcats: Kevin Love
10-Nets: Anthony Randolph

Which leaves us to 11: the Indiana Pacers.

They've been less than thrilled with Jamaal Tinsley, and I think that Indiana is the best fit for Augustin.

1.Bulls-Michael Beasley
2.Heat-Derrick Rose
3.TWolves-Brook Lopez*
4.Sonics-Jeryd Bayless
5.Grizzlies-O.J Mayo*
6.Knicks-Danilo Gallinari
7.Clippers-Russell Westbrook*
8.Bucks-Eric Gordon*
9.BobCats-Kevin Love
10.Nets-Anthony Randolph

...
15.Suns-Augustin*

I can see (I guess) how you could have D.J. fall past 11. My questions are:

a) Why would Indiana not take him (you never argued that)?
b) Why would Sacramento not take him (yes, I know they have Beno)?
c) Wouldn't Portland rather have D.J. compared to Steve Blake?
d) Don't the Suns have many more pressing needs than a back-up point guard? (Such as a small forward or shooting guard to replace Marion's fire power, a center who can take over for Shaq, or more depth in the front court)

Forfeited Turn

IF Indiana drafted DJ, and assuming that, aside from Tinsley, nobody else left town, this is their lineup in (most likely) 2009-2010:

PG- DJ Augustin
SG- Mike Dunleavy, Jr.
SF- Danny Granger
PF- Troy Murphy
C- Jermaine O'Neal

That team would be very good for years to come, and in that Central Division, it'd gain experience fast.

Bottom Line: Indiana should take D.J. Augustin out of Texas University with the 11th pick of the 2008 NBA Draft.

Good TD

I like DJ going to the bucks. they dont have a real PG in williams and are looking for solid young guards. He is the best person for the situation

Indy would be perfect

And Wolves will take Mayo instead of Lopez

He will end up in Cleveland after Indiana trades the #11 pick and Jamario O'neil to the Cavs for Wally Szerbiak, Eric Snow and Anderson Varajao.

Based on the picks, I'd say left is probably right, but I'll wait for more arguments.

in my mock draft i have him going 11th to the Pacers so i have to vote left

Jamario O'Neal, Dirt? Don't you mean JERMAINE?
