-First I picked Arod because he has a higher OPS, has only 7 less hits in 39 at bats he may have more homers but Arod has 6 steals to his one: If it wasn't for the injury it'd be a no contest
-Second the closer issue: i originally had K-rod but then i looked at what Rivera has been doing and he has an ERA below 1, whip below one and batters are almost as effective not even coming to the plate. At this point I would rather have Mariano closing my all star game
-The reason why i chose Bengie over Mcann is that hes batting now .333 has more hits ( 70 to 64) may have less homers but i'd take a hit over an out any day of the week: plus he's known for being a better defensive player too
-Scott Kazmir over Roy Halliday, why: hes pitched in 7 less games, but hes only 2 wins behind Roy opponents are batting 35 points lower against kazmir, he also has a higher K/9 inning (8.8 to 7.1)
-I chose Nady over Braun again because of teh 26pt higher batting average: yes X my have 7 less HR, but he only has 1 less RBI. Plus he has a higher OPS (900---892)
-Lastly i chose Damon over Manny, not cuz i'm a Yankee fan but because hes batting 326 to 302 Damon has 11 steals Manny has 1 Continue Below

If it wasn't for injury it wouldn't be a contest I agree but he WAS injured so Crede has had a better season.
You are really over hyping steals WAY too much. I could care less about a 6 steal difference if there is also a 5 homerun difference.
Crede leads A-rod in EVERY categorie except doubles steals and average.... yeah Crede much better year so far.
Roy Halladay over Kazmir why? Because hes pitched 7 more games. Woulda coulda shoulda won't cut it. The fact is Kaz WAS injured and it SHOULD be held against him. Halladay has been an inning eater and leads the MLB in complete games
We are arguing the big picture not what couldve been
Halladay 102.2 IP
5 CG
8-5
81 Ks
Kazmir
45 IP
6-1
44 Ks
Not even remotely close. Kaz leads in ERA and (barely) WHIP from pitching less games.
C- average= the most overrated stat ever. Why NOT use OBP? I don't care HOW someones on base.
McCann .387 OBP
Molina .360 OBP
Well, there goes your whole argument.
Plus
McCann- .966 OPS, 12 homers, more doubles and runs than Molina who only has 6 homers. McCann by a mile after OBP.
K-rod over Rivera was my easiest choice. A closers job is to save

Batting average is the key to any good player: you find me any HOF, or all star, that has had a good average. If you bat .325 have 10 homers but over 100 rbi's I'd take that over a person that bats .250 and has 40 homers and 100 rbi's
well first i have to ask what a "C-" is
Molina is doing his thing on a horrible team he has no help other than rowand
while Mccann has a potential MVP (see my other TD), Texeria, Francour, and others.... What Bengie is doing is much more impressive and is having a better year from my point of view
The pitcher issue: Scott Kazmir is having a better year because even though hes pitched in 7 less games, HE ONLY HAS 2 LESS WINS. I can tell that your just doing a cop out by saying "shoulda, coulda........."
hes has won 6 of 7 games, halliday has won 8 of 14 now tell me which is better.
Also, when a person is injured(kazmir, Arod) and they come back very strong and play really good, why shoot them down. They got injured now are healthy, so back off, please.
You also seem to be obsessed with the long ball, small ball is the way to play now adays so batting average is the key component to baseball.
BELOW....
J (Browns 19-0) Carbathlee said 06/10, 08:56 PM
The rest of my second argument is below voters.
I have no problem with small ball, but do you not see that average is POINTLESS if someone has a higher OBP? It shouldnt matter HOW someone gets on base as long as they are getting on base unless we are talking fantasy baseball which we are not.
Higher OBP, more runs produced, I don't see how half of these are arguments.
You know, I'm sure that Gilbert Arenas would have been an all-star if not hurt, too bad he was. I truly don't understand your thought process behind using injured players. They COULD have been all stars but injurys slowed them down so now others are all stars.
Batting average is very important yes but you are arguing the differences of 0.010 and its pointless. I would rather have a player producing 25 more runs than a player having 25 more points to their average since baseball is won with runs. PLUS MY PLAYERS HAVE HIGHER OBP!!!
No duh to your first statement but I would rather have .250 40 and 100 than .325 10 and 60
OBP OVERRULES batting average unless using fantasy baseball. Its really that simple.
Saves leader over .96 ERA. I'm sorry but anyone will tell you that

K-rod should be closer. Give Ervin Santana some thought for pitcher.

Voters this isn't about who will make the all star game its who have been the best to this point. A-rod by the time the break comes around will probably be better than Crede but as of right now Crede has been more of an all star this season.

Damon also has more Doubles: yes Manny may have more homers but thats not Johnny's job
On this team Johnny damon would be the all star

No one has done that better this year than K-rod. Its not his job to put up flashy numbers, its his job to ensure the wins for his team and no one is better at it than him. If K-rod comes in the 9th inning with a 3 run lead he knows his job is to win. You buy too much into ERA for closers. As long as they don't let up that 3rd run I don't see a problem with giving up the first 2 as long as it isn't a constant problem. K-rod is far and away the saves leader and a 10 save difference is way too much to ignore.
The Bucs have been my favorite team my ENTIRE life. If you have ME saying Braun has a better year than the X-man it has to be true. Please, stop overrating average. Baseball is won by runs. Run producers are the important players. If you get on base but don't score theres barely a point. I would rather have a 30 HR hitter than a .300 hitter anyday.
Braun 16 homers 47 RBIs
Nady 9 homers 46 RBIs
Braun more than makes up for the average difference and the SLIGHT OPS difference. Plus Braun has more runs, triples, and steals and even tho its not a huge difference it more than makes up for average.
I'm disappointed
Manny .386 OBP
Damon .392
.006 difference!
Manny- .938 OPS, 14 homers, 47 RBIs
Damon- .900 OPS 6 homers, 31 RBIs
Not even close.

so then what do you call M.V. doing??? He's not ****-grabbing i'm sure. He has the lowest ERA of any closer. The reason why he doesn't have as many saves is cuz the Yanks just blow balls (my anti Yankee side coming in)
