Trades must work, moves must make sense. Here we go.
Cavs trade Eric Snow, Wally Sczcerbiak, and a second round pick to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal (this trade has been rumored for a while)......
Re-sign Daniel Gibson.......
Trade Daniel Gibson and Zydrunas Ilguaskas to Detroit for Chauncey Billups and Amir Johnson (another trade that has been rumored, Detroit may want to rebuild)....
Draft Roy Hibbert with the first round pick......
Starting Lineup:
G-Chauncey Billups
G-Delonte West
F-LeBron James
F-Ben Wallace
C-Jermaine O'Neal
With Roy Hibbert and Anderson Varejao on the bench......
This team could definitely challenge the Celtics for the title.....
And I think it could definitely be achieved. Maybe throw in a few more players in the trades, but.....

Eric Snow is toast........The Pacers need a starting PG and my trade for Hinrich and Thomas makes more sense since Hinrich is a capable PG but not a possible stud like Rose.......
While Billups has been rumored to be traded, he isnt going anywhere.......He is the motor that makes Detroit run........
Why would Indy give up O'Neal for Wally when they already have Dunleavy, Granger, Daniels and Murphy???? These players are all perimeter players........
The Pacers need a solid PG so they can try and deal Tinsley.......Tinsley to Cleveland has more of a chance to happen than your proposed deal........
Personally I think Cavs need to sit tight and try and pick up a veteran PG to run the point........They should have made a run at Sam Cassell before he signed with Boston........

All right, I see what you are saying, but this year, I realized what is wrong with the Cavaliers, and why they shouldn't just stand pat. At this point, only a championship will be a success for this team. And the reason they can't stand pat is......
You just can't win a championship with one star. No one does it. Think of every NBA Championship since, oh, at least 1989. The last two Spurs teams both had Duncan along with Parker and Ginobli, the Lakers had Shaq and Kobe, the first two Spurs champions had Duncan and David Robinson, the Bulls has Pippen and Jordan, the Rockets had Clyde Drexler and Hakeem the Dream, and the Pistons and Isiah, Rodman, and all the other bad boys. What does this show you? YOU NEED TO STARS. That's why the Cavs need to go after at least Billups or O'Neal.
And to prove that my trades could happen.....

I am not just making this stuff up.
And there's no use crying over spilled milk. The Cavs missed out on Cassell, its too late now. Plus, I think he just wanted to go to Boston all along.

LeBron is only going to get better as crazy as that sounds.......
The players they acquired in the trade will have an entire season to acclimate themselves and to become a more cohesive unit together........
These are sports writers that are being paid to write a story.......
It doesnt mean it is going to happen........
Just rumors until something goes down........
Makes no sense to acquire Jermaine O'Neal when they just acquired Big Ben........
Who is going to come off the bench.........In that link the rumor is Eric Snow and Wally for Jermaine.......They already have Ilgauskas, Big Ben, Varejao.........

OK, if all anyone says is that LeBron will leave at the end of his contract if the Cavs don't win a title (which I think is a big load of ****), then why shouldn't the Cavs do everything they can to win the title? Including trades.....
Do you really think that this Cavs team is good enough to win an NBA title right now? All anyone ever says is how awful LeBron's supporting cast is. Trust me, you need at least 2 stars to win an NBA title. Period. That is why the Cavs need to go after Chauncey and Jermaine O'Neal............
Do you know how good the Cavs would be with Jermaine O'Neal and Big Ben down low? They would be unstoppable. That team could win a title............
I think we already solved up that bench problem. Ilgauskas would be traded to the Pistons. Then Varejao would come off the bench, like he always has. No problem there......
I'm just saying, there's absolutely no way the Cavaliers should not make any trades this offseason. This team has shown they are not ready to win a championship yet, they need to do all they can.

And Detroit would want Ilgauskas why??? They are rumored to be blowing up the team in a massive Denver-Detroit trade.......Ilgauskas would make them older........
Problem is Cavs dont have a whole lot people want??? And what they do have wont draw "the 2nd superstar" you say they need.......
No, the Cavs arent good enough to win an NBA title as they are now......Not with Boston, Detroit with Orlando and others on the rise........
O'Neal has averaged just 51.5 games per year the last 4 seasons.......He cant stay healthy and they already have 1 over the hill player in Ben Wallace.......

Report Offensive CommentI can't see the Cavs making so many deals with teams with-in their own division. I know they did a deal with the Bulls last season, but I can't see them making deals with Indiana and Detroit.
Have to vote for DJ on this one.

Report Offensive CommentIf Indiana is that desperate to get rid of the cap commitment (Wally & Snow come off the books after 08-09 whereas O'Neal's contract expires after 09-10).......uhh....

Report Offensive CommentI like the Hibbert pick because look at the progress he has made in four short years. He had raw talent and very little experience to being one of the best players in the NCAA last year.

Report Offensive CommentNo one trades within their own division. It's an accident waiting to happen. Sorry but even the 11 player deal Cleveland made this past season needed another team because Chicago would not trade directly with Cleveland. Voting ++++>>>>>

Report Offensive CommentAnyone want to wait for the TD to end before they vote? Just saying, one argument each isn't that much.
FaustoCarmonaFan* | 06/10/08, 12:16 AM
Report Offensive CommentBoth terrible suggestions. Cleveland doesn't need to do to much of anything. They have a solid foundation and gave the Celtics, who will be the chmps, a much tougher time than anyone including the Lakers.
West is a decent pg. Pav the Cav should stick around. Just add some cheap perimeter help and maybe a post vet like Ratliff and they'r fine.
