LeBron is the 2nd best NBA player right now to come out of high school and go straight to the NBA. (behind Kobe)

Lebron stats are unmatchable by anyone else (except kobe) who has come out of highschool. he almost won an mvp and has been in each all star game. he draws double teams and still has 30 pts per game or more

I say it's Kevin Garnett.

KG's numbers might not have been as good as LeBron's this year, but he had a better season. He averaged 18.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game this year, even though he was playing with two other great scorers, so there were not many scoring opportunities for him. He was also the run-away choice for Defensive Player of the Year and finished high in the MVP voting. So Kevin Garnett is a better leader, defensive player, and rebounder than LeBron is right now.

And one thing KG is now doing that LeBron never did is winning. Kevin Garnett has carried this Celtics team to within two wins of an NBA Title. He has shown invaluable leadership this post season, and helped transform the Celtics from a terrible team to the favorite to win the NBA Championship. He obviously the second best player in the NBA to come straight out of high school.

i agree garnett is an amazing player, but for lebron's age he is absolutely amazing. all 5 years in the league lebron has finished in the top 10 for the MVP, including 3 times in the top 5, and 1 time runner up. garnett finished higher this year, but the last few years lebron has finished higher. garnett has pierce and allen, who does lebron have that is even close to their skill. lebron averges 30 pts. per game and 7.9 rebounds. garnett could not carry his timberwolves into the playoffs except one year. lebron led the cavs to the playoffs in 06,07,08. he hardly has any help. garnett does not carry the team all by himself, he has 2 amazing players around him in pierce and allen, who help him alot. Lebron has people who can score but who are not nearly as good as pierce or allen.

The question was not who will be the best player, it was who is. And right now, Kevin Garnett is a better player than LeBron right now. And right now, Garnett is the best player on his team, and when times have gotten tough during the first two playoff series.

You also said that Kevin Garnett only carried the T'Wolves to the playoffs one year. Actually, the Wolves missed the playoffs the first year of Garnett's career, but then made the playoffs the next 8 years, including one Western Conference Finals. So actually, your facts are very wrong, Garnett carried his team into the playoffs in Minnesota 8 times, not 1. And yes, he definitely carried those teams.

The stats don't tell the tale here. They don't show how good of a defensive player Kevin Garnett is. They also don't show that LeBron is the Cavs' only scoring option, while Garnett has to share the ball with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

On the MVP stats, guess what? In LeBron's first season, KG won the MVP! So actually, Kevin Garnett has done better in MVP awards than LeBron. Kevin Garnett is clearly the second best player to come straight out of high school.

Garnett does have to share the ball with allen and pierce because if he didnt the celtics would not be as good by far, LeBron has no choice but to not share the ball because if he did share it to much the Cavs would not be good. and LeBron led the Cavs to a eastern final BY HIMSELF. garnett at least had sam cassel. lebron had no one to help him carry the load. the stats dont tell everything, but they are convincing.
Season Team GP MPG SPG BPG RPG APG PPG High 40+ 50+ TD MVP
2003???04 Cleveland 79 39.5 1.6 0.7 5.5 5.9 20.9 41 1 0 0 9th
2004???05 Cleveland 80 42.4 2.2 0.7 7.4 7.2 27.2 56 5 1 4 6th
2005???06 Cleveland 79 42.5 1.6 0.8 7.0 6.6 31.4 52 10 2 5 2nd
2006???07 Cleveland 78 40.9 1.6 0.7 6.7 6.0 27.3 41 1 0 1 5th
2007???08 Cleveland 75 40.4 1.8 1.1 7.9 7.2 30.0 51 7 2 7 4th

those are his stats. and even though he doesnt have to share the ball, he does because he wants to get teammates involved. but he knows he cant share it too much because his team would be awful. lebron has great stats in all categories. LeBron can do a little of everything and has been the Cavs leader since arriving. LeBron is t2nd best

Congratulations, you are smart enough to copy and paste a very hard to read stat line for LeBron. Once again, you aren't listening to my argument.

I don't even understand your statement that Kevin Garnett is forced to share the ball, but LeBron isn't. Why should it matter if your teammates are good? LeBron does have some good teammates, like Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Delonte West. These guys are not chump change. And are you saying that KG is a worse player because he passes to his teammates? That doesn't make sense, it only makes him better.

What makes Kevin Garnett such a great player are his post moves. I have never seen a player who can hit that fade-away jumper like KG can. He is an amazing inside scorer, and an awesome inside defender. He is simply a beast down low and on the defensive end. Can you say that about LeBron?

In conclusion, Kevin Garnett is the 2nd best player to come out of high school into the NBA because he is an unselfish player, great scorer, and awesome defender. He is clearly a better player right now than LeBron James.

Moses Malone.

Slimshaney, I may be wrong, but I thought Moses went to play in a different pro league other than the NBA after high school. Therefore, he technically didn't go straight from high school to the NBA. I'm not positive on this though.

But wait...no mention of Sebastian Telfair?
