Rules...
Pick a Division- and take ONE player from EACH team- Best team wins (you cannot choose a Player that scored over 20ppg or started over 70 games).
I got the South East division.
PG: Jameer Nelson- Nelson is a solid PG, he can be a threat on offense. Career number of 11.7ppg and 4.4apg are not great but solid. He has become a very good shooter this past season he shot 47% from the field, 42% from 3, and 83% from FT. He is a good rebounder for his size with 3.5/game this past season.
SG: Gilbert Arenas- Arenas is a great scorer, at 19. 4ppg he scored under his career average of 23. He is not a great 3pt shooter but has never been known for that but he can still score with the best of them.
SF: Gerald Wallace- A great player who can do everything. An offensive threat at 19.4ppg, 3.5apg, and 6 rpg. He is young, has good size, and is very explosive. He is also a good defender.
PF: Shawn Marion- Another great player offensively and defensively. He is good for 15 and 10 a night, which is down from his career numbers. He also averaged 2spg and 1.3bpg.
C: Zaza Pachulia- I am prepared to lose this matchup, but with the rules there was not much left to pick from.

Southwest is my pick....
PG- Jannero Pargo- averaged 8.1 and 2.4 in the regular season but in the postseason he stepped up his game and was a huge part of their run.
SG- Manu Ginoboli- Best all-around player on either team and a champion. Great scorer, rebounder, passer and defender.
SF- Mike Miller- Started exactly 70 (so not over), also a great all-around player and by far the best shooter of either team.
PF- Luis Scola- Did not truly get minutes till the Rockets began their winning streak, in the last 2 months averaged almost 14 and 9, very solid.
C- Erick Dampier- Not great but a good rebounder and shot blocker and still much better than Zaza.
The key to me is TEAM. You have 2 selfish punks playing positions they don't like to play. Gilbert will want the ball and take Jameer out of the game completely. Marion prefers small forward and will have his hands full with the underrated Scola. None of your guys are good shooters and the lane will not just be wide open for your team of slashers. I have 1 good (Scola) and 1 decent (Damp) post prescence and great shooters who can also drive the rack, my team is well rounded and has no EGO's. They are the better TEAM.

You do have players that would work together as a team, but they are also role players. Ginoboli is a very good player but he wasn't even the best player on his team. The rest of your team is made up of decent players.
Pargo has been a career back up PG and has only played over 20 mins/game in a season once and he only played 13 game that season. He averaged 2.4apg but also 1.2 turnovers also, that is a 2-1 assist/turnover ratio that not good at all. Pargo might have stepped up his game in the playoffs, but he tried to do too much and might have cost the Hornets a chance to win against the Spurs.
Manu is a good player, but I wouldn't consider him a great defender he is more a liability on the defensive end of the ball.
Mike Miller is a good offensive player but another liability on defense. He will be a the second best scorer on your team yet only has a career scoring average of 14.4ppg.
Scola is a solid player, he is a good defensive player and a solid offensive player. He will have his hands full on D guarding the quicker more explosive Marion.
Damp is better, pathetic.
Your team would have a hard time putting enough points on the board to compete with my team.

What?
I have to say Ginoboli is much more important to that team than you think. The Spurs were at their best when he was given more minutes, which he would get with this team. Proof is what you want, OK. February of this season. Spurs go 10 and 1. Ginoboli plays 36.5 minutes a night (5.5 more than his season average) 24.3 Points, 6.5 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals. Those are superstar numbers.
"Damp is better, pathetic."
Pathetic but true.
Mike Miller may not score a ton but he shot 50% from the field and 43.2 % from 3. He is an unselfish player with a SICK stroke.
"Your team would have a hard time putting enough points on the board to compete with my team."
Not sure if anyone ever told you this but defense is part of the game too. Like I said, you have a bunch of slashers and the paint will not be that easy to get to for your team. They will force jumpshots and as cocky as they may be, none of them are near the shooters they think they are.
On my end of the court, I have well rounded guys who can shoot and drive (especially Manu). They are also very unselfish players, who will make the extra pass instead of taking the ME ME ME aproach, which Arenas owns

Ginoboli is an important part of the Spurs and will be the biggest threat on your team. But other than that I am not afraid of Pargo, Scola, and Damp on the offensive end, this past season they averaged 24.5ppg. Manu is a very talented offensive threat, but he will be killed by Arenas on the other side of the floor.
One thing about Damp, he has a tendency to pick up fouls early, this could cause your defense to have a major hole and my slasher's would make Damp work more than he has worked in years.
Miller has got a good stroke but Gerald Wallace and his talented defense will be right there making him work to get a decent look.
Defense is important, my team has a pretty solid core. Nelson is quick enough to stay in front of Pargo. Neither Manu or Gilbert are good defenders, this could be a high scoring matchup. Marion is a very talented defender that can use his athleticism to make Scola struggle.
Nelson, Arenas, and Marion(even with his ugly shot) can all knock down shots and I also have slashers that can get to the basket. Your team can keep passing the ball to someone else all they want, the ball better end up in Manu's hands if you want to win.
Good Luck

Scola is a little better than you give him credit for, over the last 2 months, once the Rockets let him play, he average 21 and 13.5 per 48, that is pretty damn good. Also if given the minutes Pargo has proven to be a great scorer (who exactly would get minutes over Chris Paul).
Please explain to me what kind of post D would you have? Zaza and Marion, Luis would have as good a game as he ever has against that matchup. ZaZa makes it 4 on 5 right away.
Marion is a stat guy, but how good of a defender is he really? Numbers are overrated, but the Suns D was always horrible. Even with him and Raja. Nelson could not stay in front of Pargo, while he may not be trustworthy, the guy can fly and would have no problem with Nelson.
Gilbert shot 40% this season and 28% from 3. WOW, good shooting. Marion shot 33% from three, most of his shooting %, comes from dunks, which wont come easy.
My guys will be able to pass the ball and NO it does not have to end with Manu. Miller can find open spots on the court and spot up, as can Pargo. Scola will be a force in the paint. And if Dampier does have one ability, it is that he is great on the offensive glass.
You have names, I have players

Now on to this td, the ending summed it up for me. "You have names, I have players "

Report Offensive CommentI'm going Left-
I just don;t see Mike Miller/Wallace matchup being a good night for the right
and if Scola can;t at least MATCH Marion- thats two there where they can score at will-
Arenas at least can defend somewhat- and the left has better defenders than you think.
