Since it is based on this year, I would have to say Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

I dont like the list first, arguments second third format, but i will abide by it.

Jeff Gordon is doing horrible this year, I know neither driver has won a race, but Jr. has 10 Top-10 finishes, while Gordon only has 7. Also, Jr. average finish is 11, while Jeff Gordon is 15. Also, Jr. is third in points and Gordon is in 8th. So as you see Jr. is doing better than Gordon and everyone expects Gordon to do a lot more than Jr.

Junior was 6th in points in 2006, 13th in 2007. I know he is a Top 10 driver, but he signed with Hendrick Motorsports to WIN, and he has won ONE race, and that was the Bud Shootout which doesnt even count because it was an EXHIBITION. Junior has not won a race at all this year. He has improved yes, but he is still overrated. His popularity is only so great because alot fo his father's fans turned to him after Sr passed away. I'll admit I did the same thing, BUT, I at least realize that junior isnt all he is cracked up to be. If he were to start winning on a consistent basis, like Jimmie Johnson of last year or Kyle Busch of this year have been doing, then yes, he wont be overrated, but fro a guy who signed to win and hasnt been doing JACK, then he is overrated.

Yes, he may have alot of Top 10 finishes, but that in the broad shceme of things means he was in the Top 9 losers category. Second is the best loser, so the best 9 losers are those who round out the Top 10. Junior is a decent driver, but he has not done anything of any significance this year. There were a few races he had won, and he just inexplicably lost them. Because he cant finish. OVERRATED

At least, this year he is finishong races instead of when he was with DEI he couldn't finish a race at all. JR. has improved and Gordon has dropped in value he is doing horrible. Gordon is also with Hendrick and he hasn't won a race either so you can't say that is why Jr. isn't because then that means Gordon is doing bad becuase he is with Hendrick and has not won a race. That is why Gordon is OVERRATED

Gordon is doing bad because all drivers go through a slump. So now are we going to say Ryan Howard is overrated because he is slumping right now? Or are we going to say the Lakers are overrated because they caught the buzzsaw Celtics at an inopportune time? No. People and teams and drivers have their bad days. Junior has all this hype, and he hasnt lived up to it. THAt is OVERRATED.

I have seen 3 races this year (not including Richmond where Kyle Busch spun him out) where Junior had a huge lead with under 3 laps to go, and STILL failed to win the race. He can't finish the job. He cant execute down the stretch. THAT is OVERRATED.

Until Junior starts winning consistently, he will never live up to the hype and still be overrated. His popularity is even overrated, as he cant even live up to the standards of his supporters. They want him to win, I want him to win,but until he PROVES he CAN, he isand will be overrated.

Gordon has won consistently, and he gets better later in the season. He has nothing to prove. He is not overrated.

Junior is OVERRATED.

Gordon is not.
