Im goanna Take Sayer's (Leaving you with Davis).

Now I know what you are Thinking Man Davis rushed for 2,000 yards in one season that is awesome but not everything.

Sayers was a much better player then Davis having earned 1 more Pro Bowl and 2 more All Pro's..

Sayers all around what is not to like about him he was a great runner a great Kick returner and better yet a great reciever. Davis was just a good runner.

Sure Davis has more rushing yards but he does have a lower Yards per carry By .4 Anyway What people dont realize is that Sayers had more recieving yards more recieving TD'S and had over 500 more yards from the Line of scrimmage.

I mean Sayers was much more complete then Davis dont forget Davis ran Behind a damn good Line and had a little Help from a H.O.F QB you might know his name is Ummm John Elway which he was in his older years but still he was a good QB.

Anyway good Luck

All right, I'll take Terrell Davis.

Now, both had similar careers, with very short, but very good primes. But Terrell Davis was a better player than Gale Sayers. Terrell Davis rushed for over 1,000 yards 4 times, while Gale Sayers only did it twice, and never rushed for more than 1250. His stats do not even come close to Davis'. Davis also had rushing TD totals of 21, 15, and 13, while Sayers best seasons only resulted in 14, 8, and 8 rushing TDs.

Also, I would much rather have Davis on my team. He was able to score touchdowns, which are very valuable to a running game. He was also able to carry the ball many more times per game, shown by the fact in his prime, he had 4 seasons over 230 carries, while Gale Sayers averaged only about 190 carries per season. He was not a workhorse running back like Davis, and I wouldn't want a player like that on my team.

Terrell Davis was one amazing player. He was an All-Pro 3 times, he went over 1500 yards in 3 straight seasons (with 1 over 2000), and was the main reason the Broncos won 2 championships. He proved his worth in big playoff games, while Sayers never did. I would much have Terrell Davis on my team than Gale Sayers.

If You notice the TD it says who would you rather have on your team.

Now tell me would you rather have Just a gooD Runner.

Or would you rather have a good runner a good reciever and a good returner.

Sayers could score from anywhere on the field which Davis couldnt.

Sayers played 10 less games and has More recieving yards and 4 more TD. Sayers Like i sai has over 500 more yards from scrimmage then Davis.

And In Sayers Rookie year he had 24 TD which is more then Davis ever accomplished in a season.

Davis was a workhorse and Sayers wasnt.

Lets see Davis has 1,655 Attempts and169 receptions that is pretty impressive lets look at Sayers now.

Sayers had 991 Attempts 112 receptions and 108 Returns. You know Back then When the game favored the defense that is pretty Impressive considering he played 10 games less.

Also Sayers Doninated more then Davis did Sayers led the league in rushing 2 times to davis's 1 time all purpose yards 3 times to Davis's 0 Times Rushing yards a game 3 times to davis's 1 time and One more Time HAD MORE YARD FROM SCRIMMAGE THEN DAVIS DID.

Davis was 1 dimensional unlike Sayers who was great at everything.

Terrell Davis wasn't a good receiver? In Gale Sayers prime 4 seasons, he had 96 receptions for 1196 yards total. In Terrell Davis' 4 prime seasons, he had 152 catches for 1181 yards. So actually, Terrell Davis' was just as good of a receiver as Gale Sayers, if not better. So, you're facts were wrong, if Gale Sayers was a great receiver, than so was Terrell Davis.

Another fact you have wrong: Terrell Davis couldn't score from anywhere on the field, while Sayers could. Lets look at the stats. In Gale Sayers 4 prime seasons, he had 37 rushing TDs, while in his prime 4 seasons, Terrell Davis had 56, 19 more than Sayers. Hmm, guess he could score a lot. Even if you add in Sayers kick return TDs, which isn't fair since TD never had the opprotunity to return, he still only has 46 TDs, 10 less than Terrell Davis. So, no, you are wrong, Terrell Davis could score from anywhere, and a lot more often than Gale Sayers.

And don't say that in Sayer's era, the game favored defense. Some of the league's great offenses played during that time. That is not a valid argument, Terrell Davis still had better stats.

So in conclusion, Terrell Davis was multi-purpose, and had great stats. Better than Say

Alright Why isint that fair that Davis couldnt kick return i bet if he was aas good as Sayers was he would of played but facts are he didnt and would of gotten injured sonner if he would of.

And as for Davis ebing as good as a reciever in 10 less games he had more TD and yards how does that make Davis better.

Anyway Sayers was way more Multi Talented and how could you not say the defense was favored they penalties were a lot less strict and refrees wouldnt call nearly as much Sayers was also Black which back then Wasnt a great thing If you have ever seen the Movie Brian Song.

Anyway I dont know what to say In 10 less games Sayers had more Yards from Scrimmage had more Pro Bowls more all pro's is a hall of famer.

Davis was good and to have him on my team would be an honor in his Primew but i want a guy who can do a lot more then Run Which with Sayers i got a guarentee in that .

And Davis had 65 Total TD'S to Sayers 55 which is nine less (Incuding Reciving) Like i said though Sayers never had outstanding hall of fame players like Davis did With Elway and Sharpe.

Anyway both were great But Sayers was just much more multi talented.

GOOD TD

Good Luck

Akron Ohio i live in medina That is pretty close

June 14, 2008  01:03 PM ET

Gale Sayers would not be half as good in today's NFL, which is what I assume you meant when you said "who would you rather have on your team".

June 14, 2008  01:20 PM ET

I had a track meet in Medina once. It has a nice football stadium.

June 14, 2008  01:32 PM ET

Yea they are much nicer then Cloverleaf(where i go to school) But i wrestled at medina during districts.

Terrell wasn't half the player Sayers was. Sad that ANYONE thinks he was.

June 14, 2008  02:26 PM ET

Terrell Davis led his team to a Superbowl and had the best 3 year run of any RB ever. Its clearly TD. He was destined to be a top 5 all-time back if he stayed healthy.

June 14, 2008  03:28 PM ET

Gale Sayers would have lasted about 2 seasons in today's NFL. Slight and speedy doesn't cut it in today's NFL...you have to have some power, which Sayers was lacking in. There is also the fact that the average defender size is bigger and bulkier, so injury problems back in the 1960s will be magnified in today's NFL.

June 14, 2008  05:35 PM ET

Actually, I think Sayers would have lasted much longer in today's NFL. Having top notch medical teams around is worth a lot, versus the rather primitive stuff the NFL could offer in the 1960s.

June 14, 2008  06:10 PM ET

Better medical teams has less effect that bigger, stronger players does. He may get healthier faster, but he'll also get injured more often and more severely. And injury-prone guys like Sayers can't take a hurting every year and stay the same throughout.

I'd take either one. But if I had a choice, I'd take Sayers. Just because he could do some many different things. And how good would have Davis been on a mediocre team with a so-so QB. They couldn't stack the line against him with Elway there.

June 15, 2008  12:16 PM ET

Sorry, ran out of room. "Better than Sayers"

June 16, 2008  06:04 PM ET

He didnt even make a final arguement
