Reed Sorenson without a doubt, he was projected to be in the chase and win a few races this year, but guess what, since his 4th place showing at Daytona he has yet to finish in the top 10 again, he is bellow 30th in points, and don't be surprised if Chip Ganassi lets him go after this year, sure Gordon isn't in the top 5 in points, but if the chase started today he would be in it, and contending for a 5th championship, and don't get me wrong Sorenson is one of my favorite drivers, because of his hometown status, but my God, he isn't even in the top 30 in points.

Juan Pablo Montoya. Last year he was nascars rookie of the year, he won races and.plenty of top 10's and some top 5's
This year the best he has finished is 12th. That's not even in the top ten and he finishing anywhere from 19th to 32nd most of the time.
Last year he was good and alotof people expected him to be a contender in the race for the chase, but not now.
We are still waiting to see a top 10.
As for Reed Sorenson he didn't do that good last year, and he still isn't this year.
Juan in definantly a dissapointment.

actually Juan has had a top 10 run this year, and it was a top 5, and he won a road course race last year, which was expected after his many years of road racing, and as for the ROTY, think about the class he had, basically him and David Ragan, AJ Almendinger, and a few more Toyota drivers last year, he is still in transition to stock cars, Sorenson, contended for the Busch series title a couple years ago, and he was expected to be in the chase, and he finished in the top 20 in points last year, and now is 32nd, JPM is 22nd, and they both have the same number of top 5s and top 10s at 1, but Sorenson has done way worse than projected, and worse than JPM, who isn't doing as worse than projected.
"Cleveland" said 06/17, 05:58 PM
But Juan was a contender last year and many people expected him to make the chase this year over Reed Sorenson.
Just because they may havethe same # of top 10 finishes this doesn't mean anything,
Reed was a championship contender a COUPLE of years ago in the NATION WIDE SERIES.
But the SPRINT CUP is different, you have some of the best drivers ever like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordan Jimmy, Johnson, and so on...
But Juan surprised everyone and did good last year winning race and getting some poles.
Reed didn't win a Sprint cup race last year. And with Juan doing what he did last year many people including me was expecting alot more out of Jaun than Reed.
And what does a road course race have to do with how disapointing a driver is? Yea he was a road couse racer and won last year but if he loses at Sanoma next week that would be ANOTHER DISAPOINTMENT
to go along with Jaun.
And well I never even remember Reed Sorenson's name until I see going across the screen and normally it says he's anywhere from 24th to 35th it seems like.
outlaw is Gar fishing said 06/17, 07:16 PM
what is a bigger drop off, 14th to 22nd in JPM, or 18th to 32nd in Reed, exactly, JPM never really amazed anyone except on the 2 road courses, a lot has been expected from Reed since he came to the big time, and most experts predicted this to be his breakout year, but this is his worst ever, and many of the names you mentioned race full time in Busch as well, so the talent issue doesn't work.
"Cleveland" said 06/17, 07:35 PM
The only thing is Reed was PREDICTED to do something good. Juan was EXPECTED. And now Juan is back to 22nd in points which no one expected.
Reed never really struck it good in the Sprint Cup Series so no one has expected so much from him which is good because he's 32nd in points.
So Juan is more disappointing. Last year Juan put up good numbers most of the season so everyone figured he'd do good this year and couldn't wait to watch.
Although Juan is doing poorly this season
maybe we'll get to watchhim start another fight with Kevin Harvick at
the road course on Sunday.
It's also a toss up as to may finish worse between reed and Juan as their luck isn't so good right now.

nah JPM is actually in the top 20 in points, CGR has done nothing since Sterling Marlin broke his neck a few years ago.

Good choices by both. JPM is 22nd in points and Sorenson in 32nd. But they both have the same number of top5/top10 finishes. I think more was expected of JPM than was expected of Sorenson though.
