europe is overall the best continent in the world for soccer we all know this ..... overall thier talent is remarkable ..... when you think a team like england cant even qualify for the euro championships ........ but i dont think that they should get more teams in the world cup in place of other countries they already have about a third of thte teams in the world cup as it is ...... the concacaf only gets 3 guaranteed spots and a 4th team has to play a playoff game to get in
now im not saying these teams are the best in concacaf but europe has 12 teams getting in i feel they dont need more .... im not saying change it but dont add more to teh europeans

Yes. There shouldn't be more European teams allowed to particiapte in the World Cup. After all, it is the World Cup, and taking away countries to add in others from another continent wouldnt be fair at all.

This is how it looks like for each zone:
CONCACAF: 3 entries
CONMEBOL: 4 entries
UEFA: 13 entries (YOU WERE WRONG, NOT 12 BUT 13)
AFC: 4 entries
OFC: 1 entry
CAF: 5 entries, plus host
1 entry for the winners of CONMEBOL-CONCACAF playoff

In total, there are 32 national teams. 13 of those are in Europe. That's 40.6%! ALMOST HALF! Increasing that number would simply be unjust, considering that the second best continent (if Europe is first soccer-wise), South America, have only 4 entries. Decreasing Europe's from 13 to 12, and increasing South America's to 5 is what they should do (in my eyes). Spread the love across the gobe in other words.

FIFA should not increase the number of births or entries from the European continent to the World Cup. In fact Europe is the last continent that should have an increase in entries. 13 is already enough. More than enough actually.


im not exactly sure ... im pretty sure it was ivory coast ... but in the last world cup they actually halted a civil war till they were out of the world cup


People say that Europe has the best national teams, and therefore should have the World Cup host only European nations. BUT, that is what tournaments like EURO 08' are for! ITS CALLED THE WORLD CUP! NOT THE EURO CUP!
Like I said last time, 13 nations from Europe is already enough. As a matter of fact it is too much. Again, FIFA should actually decrease the European nations entries, and add more nations from across the globe.
Soccer is the most popular sport IN THE WORLD. NOT only in Europe is Soccer heavily loved. Europe has enough entries to shine
THIS IS THE WORLD CUP!!! FIFA SHOULD ACTUALLY TRY TO GET MORE OF THE WORLD TO PARTICIPATE IN IT!!!

Therefore, Europe should not be granted any more entries.

Um, America does do Soccer. Countries:
Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru, Chile.
And If you meant America as in the U.S.A., be more specific next time.

If Europe has the best soccer, why not allow more entries from UEFA? The hell, if UEFA has the best 32 teams in the world(I'm not saying they do, but if they did) then those teams should all be participating in the World Cup.

European football is overrated just because all of the best clubs reside in Europe doesn't mean they have a good national team. European football is amazing but people 2 big a deal out of it. No way in hell should Europe have more spots in the world cup. If they do they should call it FIFA's version of Euro. Football on the western hemisphere owns. Brazil, Argentina. Mexico and USA will make a lot of noise at the next world cup I guarantee it. Both will crack the quarterfinals at the very least. Mexico, and USA can beat any European side not named Germany, Italy, and France. Spain and England very good leagues but underachieving national sides. The only great European teams are Germany, Italy and France. The rest are overrated. The Americas own!

what i was gonna say is that it might not be significant to us but its big time in continents like afrika and asia........ the power of soccer is very large and to take the little chance some countrys have and shrink it is non sense ...... its fine the way it is now

Nah, the WC selection process is fine the way it is (though it isn't perfect).

As for "only Europe" doing soccer; my goodness--should someone like this even get to vote in a throwdown (see first comment above)? Yikes. When I battled Hype some American football fan showed up to break the tie. God knows what he knew about soccer... These people are voting and don't even have enough contextual information to know if someone is making a decent argument or not. Its painful to listen to.

i think the North/South Americaqn teams need more entries, and give the Euro teams one to two less entries to make the qualifiers really interestingm like the Euro Cup
