I say yes.
At the age of 28, Albert Pujols is already almost half way to both of these milestones. He currently has 1,421 hits and 298 HRs.
I see no signs of Albert tailing off either.
In Albert's 7 full season's, he has never hit less than 30 HRs or 185 hits.
And if age does catch up to Albert, a move to the AL is in the happening. There he will be able to play DH. That will allow him to pay more attention to his swing than to his glove.

As great as it'd be, I'm going to say no.
Albert's suddenly becoming injury-prone. He hasn't played all 162 games in a single season, and has only played 160 twice. He's missed at least 8 games thrice, and he's been on the DL in two of those seasons.
However, he is good for 150+ games. So health may not be too big of an issue, but it certainly could be.
Yes, he's practically halfway there, however, an all-time great by the name of Ken Griffey, Jr. was considered a "shoo-in" to make both clubs, and he struggled to make the 600 Homer Club, as injuries set in.
Who knows if Albert will get the same injury bug?
Currently, Albert's in the prime of his career. If he continued his current pace of 40 homers and 200 hits per 162 games, he'd reach both plateaus in 8 years. However, those are high numbers for him to attempt to keep up. He may become a full-fledged power hitter in his career, or the exact opposite. Assuming he becomes a 30 homer, 185 hit guy (not big differences off of his current pace), Phat Albert would hit 600 homers in 10 seasons and reach 3000 hits in 9 years. He'd be 38 once he reaches those, and as he's a sure HOFer, he may not need to.
Out of space.

Well then..
The current diagnosis is that Albert may not be back until after the All-Star Break. If that happens, he'd probably hit 25-30 homers, and then throw off his career pace. 2006 was obviously a career year, and in order for him to go back to those stats, he'd need to stay healthy 162 games a year. I don't know if he can do that.
(Note: I do realize that was a lame argument. But what did I have to argue?)

How big is this 600 HR, 3000 hit club? Pujols would need to play for a long time and be durable. He will probably threaten the 600 HR club, but likely will be more like a 550 guy. I don't see the 3000 hits happening though.

Poo Holes is an incredible hitter, but the durability issue can't be ignored. I'd love to see him keep up his pace though.
