I know this is looking ahead but lets predict who we think well win the 2009 NBA championship. I think the Lakers will win the championship. The reason they lost to the Celtics this year was rebounding and experience. They solved the problems for both of those for 2009 by getting Bynum. Also I think Kobe will come back with a vengance.

So the Lakers had no experience, really?

The Big 3 had NEVER even been to the Finals. Kobe and Fisher have won a few titles. I think experience went to the Lakers before the series started. You know when all the Lakers fans were calling a sweep.

Let me start with Bynum..... Great talent, no doubt, but this is not his first injury and he is not gonna be better becuase of it. If anything else he will be slower and also more careful trying to avoid yet another injury. Which is the last thing you need. I don't see anyway he can be counted on till he proves otherwise.

"Kobe will come back with a vengance."

Because he had no incentive this year to win a title. No way he gave his all, this year right? He was just messing around with everyone. Didn't realize it was the Finals and he had to be ready to play. PLEASE

Kobe has been waiting for this moment since he shoved Shaq out the door, he tried everything in his power to win.

The only thing that came out of this is that teams will now concentrate on the schemes used to stop Kobe and make life Harder on him.

The NBA is ever changing, as a Mavs fan I know you HAVE to win it when you get your chance.

More to come...

First you didnt answer my question. Who do you think will win in 09? I dont know why people are voting for you when you didnt answer the question. You think Odom, Vujajic were exprienced they were terrified. Bynum is not going to play careful because of his inury. That ridicolus. I think Kobe will work very hard during the summer to get better.

Based on the rosters they have right now the Celtics will win. Their is no way to speculate roster moves at this point. Last year at this time the Celtics were still considered the worst team in basketball, they didn't have KG or Ray

So say everyone makes their regular progressions in the off season of getting better or worse

The Celtics had two big issues heading into the Finals. Confidence and Experience. Well they have all the experience and confidence one team will ever need. The Big 3 will stay intact and be the same great core they were this year. Rajon Rondo has the most room to grow of almost any player on any roster. He has shown alot of upside and is now a champion. Perkins also has room to grow on his performance and looks to be a force for the Celtics if his offense keeps improving. Their team D is second to none

Since when do all 12 players have to have experience, if your scared your first time, you will be your whole career, either you have it (mentally) or you don't. Bynum has to prove he can stay healthy.Kobe works hard every summer, he wanted IT so BAD. He got stopped because he wasn't good enough, you can only push yourself so far beyond your capabilitie

Forfeited Turn

I think the Lakers will win the title next year, but not with the current team they have right now. So as of right now, they won't win it all with the same team. Plus better arguments on the right and that is where my vote goes.

June 21, 2008  01:07 PM ET

gonna wait it out, but it is of my belief the the lakers will win it all next year...

June 21, 2008  01:24 PM ET

So far, better argument on the right.
I would like to hear nickb23's choice for NBA champions in 2009, though.

BOBCATS

Why doesnt anyone think they can win
Okafor, Wallace, Felton, Richardson whats not to love

June 21, 2008  02:49 PM ET

Unless a number of Lakers grow a pair, they're going to keepgetting manhandled physically. Their biggest concern should be that the other NBA temas now know how to beat them.

N-E-T-S! NETS! NETS! NETS!

*pinches myself* ohh whoa, that was a far out dream...

seriously, i think the Lakers can, at this pint anybody can, becuase every team is back to 0-0

If anyone would have called Lakrs-Celtics finals at this time a year ago, they would have been laughed at. So it could be Bucks v. Kings next year for all we know if those teams score a bunch of big signings.
9 out of 10 so called experts on espn picked L.A. to easily beat Boston this year. And that didn't pan out.

My vote is going right. Stellar arguments, Nick.

Thanks GOAT.

LOL.......who is Andrew Bynum ?
he was the next ooming of shaq & he only was averaging 13 pts per game- before his injury

Whoever thinks he is 'tough' or has a 'presence' has not actually watched laker games.....

- lets first see if he comes back- before proclaiming him the best center in the league
and lets see him average 20 pts before we annoint him a superstar

Celtics...they are seemingly loaded at every positions. Vote ------------->>

June 22, 2008  01:58 AM ET

Easily a vote to Nick.

The Lakers are totally champions next year... there's no question! If they would've had Bynum healthy this year in the finals the Lakers would've demolished the Celtics no doubt.
