Now,I know this has been done many times, but who I'm challenging, wanted to do this topic,so bear with me.
....Derrick Rose.
Hinrich has been a good PG,but he has not panned out how the Bulls planned him.He has been more of a jump shooter, not the pure passer with shooting abilities.
Derrick Rose is on of the best PG's in the draft in several years. His size, stength, athleticism, versatility,as well as other great aspects of his game, leave the scouts salivating over him.
Now Beasly, though I really like him, will be hesitated on,for several things. It's a common point of Teams to know about a charcters background, and Beasly's immaturity,as well as skipping around in HS,may make some GM's uneasy, but I'll give you this:it shouldn't be a bihg factor.
Beasley, while putting up tremendous stats in college, will have to play a peculiar role.as he fits the mold of a PF,but his height has been overstated,(as has Rose's)He's really 6'7,and can't be expected to dominate in the post as much,he will have to work on his game around the perimeter(though it doesn't lack much).
Now,I'm not necesarrily stating this is the popular pick, but it's hard to pass Rose up.

I agree that it is hard to pass Rose up, but i feel that it is even tougher to pass up Beasly. I mean he is simplay too talented to not be taken at number 1.
The Bulls have Hinrich and Gordon and even Chris Duhon. They have no one established in the paint. Sure Tyrus Thomas is good but I don't think he is good enough to be a leader in the paint. The Bulls need a big man. 6"7 is fine, Look at what DeJuan Blair was able to do on 7"2 Roy Hibbert. Little 6"7 Blair on 7"2 Hibbert, now sure they aren't the same players, i will be honest Beasly is a lot better so he should have no problem.

Ok,yes,I may have indicated that size is a problem, but I know it is not always. But when you think about it,Beasly will be in the post with some of the best the world has to offer,no he should be a good post player, but he isn't quite the down-low guy the Bulls are looking for.
It's also a feel good factor for Chicagoans, who have been aware of Rose's antics for several years, since he was a HSer from Chicago. He will be a hometown hero, and that is another atraction for the Bulls.
Rose's skill set is not on that comes around every draft.Sure Beasley has stood out,but there are many very skilled players that come out of the draft every year. With the seemingly very bright future for Rose, the Bulls can't passs up on the PG of the future.
Hinrich is quite the factor here as well. They've entertained offers involving him for quite some time, and him leaving would be a strong indication of what the Bulls plan to do.

"him leaving would be a strong indication of what the Bulls plan to do." sure, the only problem is he isn't leaving. That is a bad point. It would be a huge mistake for them to pass up Beasly. Passing up the best player in the draft, for a player they do not need would be a mistake. Especiall because they need the best player u=in the draft.
Sure he is the homemade player from Chicago, but that is a huge risk to bring in an in-town player. He is already established in Chicago. Whatever bad influences he had as a kid are still there. Where if he went elsewhere they are not with him. Also if he is bad you just let a lot of people down.
Beasly is the best player hands down.

Okay, here's the thing, rumors have been swirling for months,Hinrich may have been on his way out before they even won the lottery.Hinrich just can't be the PG Rose has the potential to be,and that's why they cast aside Hinrich and pick their future.
Now,I never said Beasley was less talented.I did not say,he was the lesser of the two. Many times the best players are not picked because a teams needs are more vital at a certain position.
"Also if he is bad you just let a lot of people down."
Dude, anyone who's the #1 pick and does bad will be a humongous dissapointment.Doesn't matter that he's a hometown guy.If anything,Beasley would be more, cause they would realize what they could have had in Rose.
Beasley does not fit what the Bulls need.he could play PF their, but the Bulls need a sizeable PF at the time, and they could POSSIBILY,make room for a young player and get a skilled post player by again,POSSIBILY,Trading up by trading the two players whom rumors have swirled around for quite a bit (Gordon and Deng)
So yes,Beasley, could play PF but he just wouldn't act as the natural PF they need.
