Rules: no Bowl Game or SEC Championship included, list record and losses in the 1st argument, Argue 2nd and 3rd

8-4 losses to LSU, Georiga, Clemson, and Auburn

Good Luck.....

I'm going to go with a late season collapse:

7-5 with losses to Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi St., and Auburn.

How do you expect them to survive that Clemson Game?

Clemson has a stud D-line, there whole secondary back, 2 of there 3 linebackers back, the best RB tandem in the ACC and possibly the country, an All-ACC Senior at QB, 3 seniors starting at WR, and a stud O-line.

Last season Clemson posted a much better record than Bama and got all of there talent back from lasts season, how did they get lowered down from finishing in the top 15 in the country to losing to a team that couldn't even beat the University of Louisiana Monroe?

And there is no way Bama will fall to Mississippi State, a team that lost there entire front line from last season, lost most of there starters on offense and barely squeaked by a worse Bama team while playing at home,

This season it is gonna be at Bama (which is one of the hardest places to win in college football), Mississippi State got worse on both sides of the ball, and Bama got better on offense, so tell me how is the genius that is Nick Satan I mean Saban gonna let Mississippi State escape Denny Bryant Stadium with a win for the 3rd season in a row....

I'll give you the fact that Clemson is loaded at RB, QB, WR, DL, and in the secondary, but they are replacing 4/5 of the OL and all 3 of their entire LB core which hardly means that those units are "loaded." Clemson has always underperformed when everyone thought highly of them under Tommy-Boy, and this season will be no different.

Mississippi State has an off game before facing the tide. Mississippi St. won games off of their defense anyways. Saban has lost to MSU as a Bama'er only once, so it's not like he has lost twice in a row to them; plus most people recognize that MSU as a program is getting better.

Bama's fall will start with Georgia, just like it did last season. After Georgia, another loss will come to Tennessee at Neyland. UT has Bama at home, and both teams have won at home the past four years. Don't think for a second that Tenn. will forget the '07 blowout.

Mississippi State lost there ENTIRE O-line and there playing at Bama, yet you have them beating Bama, but not Clemson, who is playing the game on a Neutral site I believe and are way stronger than Mississippi State on every side of the ball..

Don't base your opinion on trends, because trends break, notice that 10 years ago the Red Sox were the laughing stock of Baseball, the Patriots weren't even in the playoffs, Nebraska ruled college football, and the best scenario for LSU every season was a bid to the independence bowl, Trends break, stats don't..

Mississippi is inexperienced (they have 8 sophomores starting), they have a struggling offense, the game is at Bama, Bama has somewhat a chip on there shoulder because of the fact that Mississippi State has beat them in consecutive seasons, Bama is better on both sides of the ball than Mississippi State, and Bama has a much better coaching staff..

Do you expect a team that Bama beat 41-17 to beat Alabama? A team that lost the best QB they had since Peyton Manning, is bringing in an entirely new Linebacking core, lost most of there starters on the D-line, ranked 70th in total Defense last season, and 54th in total D last season

Trends break, but trends also stick. The cubbies haven't won the series in how long since that goat wasn't let into the stadium? Stats don't break, but they can lie if you collect and present them right; any psychology major knows that. When making predictions, we can only base them on empirical evidence and our gut.

Like you said, Bama's coaching staff is good, and they will pick up that W in the ATL against a Clemson team whose coaching staff usually chokes.

That off game for MSU before facing Bama will make all of the difference, and it will give the Bulldogs the edge.

Yes, I expect Tennessee to win at home b/c they have 8 returning starters on offense including a 1,000 yard rusher and 1,000 yard receiver, and they have half of their defense returning (6/12). That lopsided score will drive the Vols to a win.

June 26, 2008  10:42 PM ET

I don't think I've ever seen a TD end a 1-1 tie

June 26, 2008  11:04 PM ET

somebody please vote on this throwdown, I'm begging you

June 27, 2008  12:00 AM ET

heheh, I was wondering if we would tie with 1-1 in voting. At least mike4redsox said he'd vote.

June 27, 2008  12:02 AM ET

maybe a michigan finishing record throwdown would've been more juicy or even notre dame would've gotten more attention.

June 27, 2008  08:29 AM ET

The arguments are like dead even here, so I'll have to decide with the record. I think they lose to Georgia, Clemson. Miss. St., and LSU, sorry how bout em.

June 27, 2008  05:48 PM ET

What do you mean by that

June 30, 2008  12:33 PM ET

Man, no one really voted on this thing. I probably should've picked a better topic, oh well.
