5 best RB's ever

1.Jim Brown
2.Walter Peyton
3.Emmitt Smith
4.Erik Dickerson
5.Jerome Bettis

I assume these are in order so

1. Jim Brown
2. Barry Sanders
3. Walter Payton
4. Emmit Smith
5. OJ Simpson

Leaving Barry Sanders off a top 5 RB list should get you automatically banned from Fannation forever....that is blasphemy.

Forfeited Turn

Man, I really wanted to hear your explanation for why Sanders was left off your list.

And in case you didn't know here are his stats/awards (maybe that's why you left him off?):

15,269 yds - 3rd most all time
5.0 ypc
99 Rushing TDs - 8th all time
4 straight seasons of 1500+ yds rushing
10 seasons - 10 pro bowls, 10 all-pros
1 NFL MVP (co mvp)
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
2 time NFL Offensive Player of the Year

Plus he had to play on the freakin Lions of all teams....the Lions....just playing for them for 10 years is punishment enough...now you leave him off a top 5 RB list when himself, Brown and Payton are generally considered the top 3 (in different orders depending on who you talk to).

Forfeited Turn

Well I figured this would happen (the 2 forfeits).

Any top 5 RB list of all-time must include at a minimum - Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton....these 4 can be put in any order and be argued for that order....#5 is irreleveant if one of these 4 are missing anywhere....

Good luck chargers but leaving Sanders off is going to kill you.

Jerome Bettis, hahahahaha

Report Offensive Comment

chargers your list is funny....

brown is a given
sanders payton 2-3

4-5 could make a case for many but dickerson and bettis is not it.

allen, faulk, tomlinson, smith, simpson, martin, thurman thomas, **** even Tiki Barber

Report Offensive Comment

Chargers first an awful top ten NBA players and now no Barry Sanders on an all time RB list

Report Offensive Comment

Let's have no voting until he makes his arguments....maybe he has an outstanding reason why Sanders doesn't belong.

Report Offensive Comment

i voted based on what i have seen so far... but best beileve i will change my vote if he has strong arguements...

Report Offensive Comment

thanks scpalo......I'd hate to get a huge lead just based off a list especially if he does have a truly outstanding, best argument ever seen on Fannation as to why Sanders isn't on his list.

Report Offensive Comment

he will need STRONG ARGUEMENTS though haha... Bettis + no sanders = not a good place to start

Report Offensive Comment

chargers...yuck.

Rstowe, that list is about as perfect as you can get.

Report Offensive Comment

Haha

Bettis. Awesome.

Report Offensive Comment

Putting Bettis on their and leaving off Sanders? Also having Sanders at #2 rstowe makes no sense admitting the fact Sanders never won a SB and Payton did.

Report Offensive Comment

I agree with LIFER.

You can't get my vote if you don't have Sanders on that list.

Report Offensive Comment

I know Scalpo mentioned LT in passing, but I think LT should get more serious consideration for the #5 slot.

Report Offensive Comment

why is jim brown first?

Report Offensive Comment

Wait what about allen iverson

Report Offensive Comment

Why would Brown not be first?

Report Offensive Comment

Silly mortal, Jerome Bettis??? You are indeed an unfortunate misguided fool. Bettis may have put up some okay numbers in his career but the fat bus relied heavily on his great o line throughout his career. His only move was running into defenders and trying not to fall down.

And to leave Barry Sanders off the list is down right insane. That is why you're losing so bad. And as for the other fool, Emmitt Smith? He played behind one of the greatest o lines ever as a cowboy but played many years in the desert stubbornly chasing Payton's record as a below average runner. And to talk about overratted RB's you both have Jim Brown rated #1. The Dark Lord is so sick of hearing about him. He was just physically better than other players at the time and he retired early. Big Whoop. He's not faster than Dickerson or Tomlison, nor does he have more wiggle than barry and he wasn't as hard to bring down as Payton.

Both of your guy's list suck.

Report Offensive Comment

You Guys Sanders is Number 1. My List would be

1.Sanders
2.Brown
3.Payton
4.Smith
5.Tomlinson,Faulk,simpson or dickerson

Report Offensive Comment

Well, your Lordship, I'd be more than happy to debate whether or not Brown is the top RB of all time.
