Brett Favre is a bad idea to come and play for the Packers another year.

Brett Favre coming to play another year would NOT be a good thing for the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers has ridden the bench for two years to watch his hero win game after game for the Packers. Now after learning what is needed to be learned to be effective in the NFL Aaron needs some playing time.

Now one can guess that Favre will be out of shape, drinking all of the beer he wants, eating those Porterhouse steaks and finally spending the much needed time with his kids and wife, he will probably be out of shape. Getting back into shape will be a problem, although he never was "in" shape.

It is time to pass the torch on to Aaron Rodgers. Favre had a good run, time to leave it alone. Packers don't need Favre to be as dominant as they were last year. They have a leader in Rodgers.

Also, why would it be in Packers best interest to spend alot of money on Favre only to be disappointed yet again.

Packers, you don't want Favre back, you don't need him. The only reason to keep him around is for the fans, but when do fans win football games?

Dude I just did a TD like this with another guy.
At least his arguements made sense and werent just insultin

not sure if you no football the way yer yappin

here we go:

YOU: "Aaron needs some playing time".

how about splittin with Favre this year for transition?

YOU: "he will probably be out of shape. Getting back into shape will be a problem, although he never was "in" shape. "

Sayin hes just drinking and was NEVER in shape. proves yer just bein ignorant many consider him a top 5 QB of all time still showed top play even last year

YOU: "They have a leader in Rodgers"

How you gonna call him a LEADER. hes played how many games? 4? WHAT DID HE LEAD THEM TO? Most football fans dont know about rodgers yet? he could be good but for now hes UNPROVEN where did you hear hes a LEADER?

FANS: dont dismiss the fans of football fans are very important

specially in a place like green bay ya know how small the city is???? well i do cause i go up there a ton! the fans are key and ya cant say who cares about the fans

My intent was not to insult Brett, I was making a point that he retired, I'm sure he isn't spending nearly enough time in the weight room. I was stating that he is probably not in the shape he was last year when he is playing.

Rodgers was a great QB in college. He poised all of the threats that Favre does. He can throw very well, he is about as mobile at Brett, and now it is all about decision making. Only time helps that.

If the Packers want him back, they will spend a lot of money that they need to keep for the next years to bring in some more play makers.

Granted, Favre did retire at the best of his game, but remember when Michael Jordan retired at the best of his game, and he came back to do what? Nothing.

Once a star retires, they lose most of their explosiveness they once had.

Favre has done it all, he's not needed anymore in Green Bay. Time to let the cleats collect dust my friend.

you didnt give a good football reason yet

you just said stars usually dont do good when they come back

what about

the fans?

the playoff hopes?

the division against the vikes?

rodgers is considered shaky college was a long time ago

I don't understand your argument. Very unstructured.

The fans. Real Packers will go to the games no matter who is behind center.

The playoff hopes. The playoffs hopes will be there. Packers has had good coaching for a while, they will be fine without Favre and his big fat contract, maybe better, because they can get another player in the roster that will help them.

The vikes. The Vikes are a good team, but one player won't change the outcome of beating the Vikings.

Rodgers has watched his champion for four years, he has learned all of the things he needs to get the job done.

WOW. you sure have confidence in the pack to beat the vikes with rodger next year.

As a pack fan, im glad to see that.

favre is rodgers', champion?

Poor rodgers then. his champion has retired. and now you say his champion is fat and out of shape

do you have some photos?

lets hope favre comes back, so rodgers has his champion back

you cant learn just from watching. yer final sentence is a little shaky.

can you watch bruce lee kung fu videos for 4 years and be a kung fu master?

i watched favre for longer than rodgers! I should be the QB!

Happy 4th.

i read the arguement. i agree with kwho

The Packers need to move on. So do the fans. The Favre love was borderline creepy, and I was glad it was over. Favre can't pull a Clemens and hold teams hostage on his situation.

July 3, 2008  11:09 PM ET

well favre needs to make up his mind...first he's sayin he's done...now he's sayin he might come back...just quite foolin around and make a decision! Your killin me here Brett!

July 3, 2008  11:09 PM ET

i vote right by the way

Out of Shape?????

Ya he is only in his late 30's and still putting fantastic numbers.

And i quote KWHO(Aaron Rodgers has ridden the bench for two years to watch his hero win game after game for the Packers). That it self explains what Farve brings to the table. HE WINS GAMES!! And last time i checked that would help not hurt the packer organization

July 4, 2008  01:20 PM ET

They are reading the arguments. Your arguments are flawed.

July 4, 2008  02:04 PM ET
