* Take any draft from any year, and pick one player from all seven rounds to make the best team possible.
* Position don't matter, although it has to fill a starting lineup (no four quarterbacks, five linebackers etc.)
* Must be a draft that used a seven round format(1994 - 2008)
* One undrafted Free Agents can be used to fill-in any of the rounds
My Pick:
2003 NFL Draft
1st Round: Running Back - Larry Johnson (KC)
2nd Round: Defensive End - Osi Umenyiora (NYG)
3rd Round: Linebacker - Lance Briggs (CHI)
4th Round: Cornerback - Asante Samuels (NE)
5th Round: Centre - Dan Koppen (NE)
6th Round: Linebacker - Cato June (IND)
7th Round: Tight End - Antonio Gates (SD)
* Gates = My Undrafted Free-Agent
* (___) = Team who Drafted the Player

Well, I think that we both got the best drafts possible, but I feel mine was a little bit better, and heres why.
Well, comparing stat lines would be unbalanced as my guys were drafted earlier, so I've decided to do this a different way. I've decided to compare how important these players really are to their team. I'll do this by comparing players at their different positions, as we each have 5 guys that can matchup at positions, and undrafted free agent each, and then an extra.
Larry Johnson vs. Frank Gore: Now, this is truly a toss-up. Both of these running backs are the centrepiece of their offense, and both help their offenses run. Although both of these runners had off-years last year, they have both already proven themselves in 2006, where they both ran for around 1,700 yards, while Johnson took 17 TD's over Gore's 8. Overall, I think we both agree this would be a tie.
Osi Umenyiora vs. Trent Cole: Both of these players make big impacts on their defenses, but I'd have to give this one to Osi. In the years both of these players have started, Osi has averaged 10.4 sacks a year and Cole 8.25. Osi also recorded 6 sacks in one game. Decision Osi.

Your right in fact that Johnson had an off season last year but Gores wasent at all bad, he still ran for over 1,100 yards and averaged 4.2 yards per carry. Plus one thing that Gore does well is catch the ball out of the backfield, last year he had 53 catches and the year before 61 which is more then half the wide receivers in the NFL get. Also last year Johnson only averaged 3.5 yards per carry but that being said hes still one of the best backs in the NFL, just theres a slight edge to Gore because we never know if Johnson can be the 300 carry back were use to
Robbie Gould is the best kicker in the NFL, in his three year career he has made about 85 percent of his kicks and never missed one from within 30 yards
Kerry Rhodes is better then Samuel,last year rhodes had just one less pick, two more sacks and twenty more tackles on an off year. Not to say Samuel isnt a good corner which he is, just that he seems to be average or great while Rhodes is more consistant
Lofa is just as good if not better then June. In three years Tatupu has never had a season where he had less then 100 tackles while June hasent been himself since he left the Colts.
Out of room

Well, between our undrafted free agents, theres no way you put an accurate kicker over a tight end who has been the best and most consistent in the NFL for a about half a decade in Antonio Gates. I'm not even to get into stats, as I'm sure we all know what he has done and accomplished.
I would like to argue that Kerry Rhodes is better then Asante Samuels. Talent wise, there should be no question that Samuels is better. But, you questioned his consistency, and i frankly don't know why. The last two years he has 16 picks, even being unhealthy for part of the time, and is one of the most dangerous men after the pick in the NFL. Rhodes is a consistent above average safety who doesn't have nearly the ceiling that Samuels has, and never gets worse nor does he get better. Also, his tackles and sacks are inflated as he was used in alot of blitzing packages on the Jets, and Samuels doesn't give up many catches, taking away from his tackles.
Lofa is a better linebacker then June, I'll leave that.
That gives me 200 characters to compare Anderson and Koppen. Anderson has been a consistent player for one year in his three year career, Koppen = his whole career.

Report Offensive CommentThe list on the right is better in my opinion. Throw out both running backs until they prove they can do it season after season and throw out both Cole and June who are a little overrated. Koppen went to a good team which also tends to make the transition a little easier for a player. I'm leaning right but he didn't post a final argument.
