Players can be drafted from any round. (please try to have more than one difference)
07 ??? Petereson (an obvious choice)
06 ??? Jones Drew (yes i picked him over Addai and prepared to argue it)
05 ??? Gore
04 ??? Jackson
03 ??? Johnson
02 ??? Westbrook
01 ??? Tomlinson (another obvious choice)
00 ??? Lewis
99 ??? James
98 ??? Taylor
I do not have much to argue at this point since i have yet to see your choices so i will argue those which i believe have the highest chance of differences.
M. Jones Drew is a rare talent who does not come along often. He has a nose for the endzone, more so than many starting RBs in the league. However Jones drew is Fred Taylors back-up he still gets a lot of work on the field done. He is an excelent reciever out of the back field and down right stunning on special teams. He has the speed and flash to break long runs and the power even as a smaller back for short yardage attempts. On his career he has averaged 5.1 yrds per carry and 27 yrds on punt returns while racking in 40+ receptions in both seasons.
Due to space and the unknown i will finish my arguements once i see your list.
Don't like my list... then Throwndown.

Nice list. I can really only find two differences to argue, although I also considered Portis over Westbrook. My main difference is from 2000. I'll take:
Shaun Alexander over Jamal Lewis
Also, since your main thrust in argument 1 is taking Mojo, I'll pick up the gauntlet and go with Addai. Although Jones Drew is an amazing talent, he is also a role player. He simply does not have the size to handle a full complement of touches over a season. Last year Addai handled the ball in both running and receptions approximately 100 times more than Mojo.
The Colts thought enough of Addai to make him the feature back in a very potent offense. Mojo is an elecricity back who comes in for jump starts. At 5'7" (and that's listed height), he would wear down if he carried the ball more than the 160 or so times he averages in a year. That's only ten carries a game! He's an excellent talent, but we're talking about the best RUNNING BACK in the draft, not the best role player.
Since you only got to argue one the first time around, I'll let you open the debate on Aalexander vs. Lewis.
Scpalo - takes you to 5th base said 07/10, 12:32 PM
JL has been a more consistant back than Alexander. A powerhouse north and south runner. Nothing TOO flashy about him but pure muscle and determination. Lewis is one of 5 RB ever to break the 2000 yrd mark. I am a firm believer that a SB ring does not make the player, paticularly in football but in this case it is something to be mentioned and i will explain. This was Lewis's rookie year, and he played for a Baltimore team that heavily relyed on the defense to win games. The offense was led by Trent Dilfer,(who threw for 1500 yards that year) he was targeted and in many cases opposing D's could and did leave 8 guys in the box to try and stop lewis. Thier D was the powerhouse on the team however you can not win a game without scoring points and JL was the one who did it for them. At the very least managed to get them in field goal range so stover could win the game with his foot.
Drew as you stated is a role player to the Jags, but that does not take away how good he is. He is a spark plug for the offense special teams and a recieving threat. He has averegaed more yrds per carry and scored 1 more TD in far less playing time. That is not including KO returns for TDs.
T-Fo's Las Vegas-style Show said 07/10, 01:11 PM
I wouldn't say Lewis has been more consistent than Alexander. In fact I would say quite the opposite. Lewis had the one spectacular 2000 yard season. Alexander, was no slouch in the single season department himself, posting a season with 1880 yards.
Overall, in career yards, Alexander also has the edge with 9429 yards to Lewis' 9105.
More importantly, Shaun Alexander was a touchdown machine. He posted 112 career TD's. More than double Lewis and his 58. Over a 5 year span, Alexander posted the following TD numbers:
16
18
16
20
28!!
Lewis never reached those numbers once! In fact he only has one season with double digit TD's...14 in 2003.
If you want one great season take Lewis. If you want one great career, I'll take Shaun Alexander.
Mojo is definitely a sparkplug, both in his stature and in what he brings to the game. I don't doubt his value. But if I'm a GM doing a draft, I'll take a feature back before I take a role player. It's close, but we are splitting hairs here. I still would choose Addai.
Fantasy sports aren't real, but Addai is a consensus top 10 pick. Drew is a third rounder. Why? Better productivity.

I obviously can not argue Jamal has not scored as much as alexander. But the teams JL has played for have left him as the offense in baltimore. He was the sinlge point of failure on the offensive side of the ball. With a large bullseye on his back, head knee caps he still produced. As you mentioned about if you were a GM i would take Lewis over alexander now knowing Lewis can still get the job done were alexander sits unemployed. On a career they have both averaged 4.3 yrds a game, but Lewis has avereged 6 more yards a game and more reciveing yards as well. Alexander had an outstanding 5 season stretch but since has done little on the field and has been sidelined due to performance and injuries. Last season Lewis nearly doubled production and rushed nearly a full yard more a carry.
Many teams have a weapon like Addai. Not many if any other has a Jones Drew. The statements of questioning JD as a feature back should not be valid due to it is untested. He has proven strength in short yardage attempts and goalline attaempts. if you were to add rushing and recieving yards JD has 2552 and 1712 from special teams Addai has a total of 2842. 4264 to 2842
T-Fo's Las Vegas-style Show said 07/10, 01:53 PM
Ah, but we are not arguing about who we would draft now, but originally in 2000. Since the average NFL RB's career is less than 6 seasons, Alexander more than fulfilled on his potential. Also, although Seattle's offense in no way resembled the Ravens, Alexander was still the main cog in the machine and also ran with a bullseye on his back., and still managed incredible success as evidenced by his incredible string of touchdowns. Great backs do wear out, but that doesn't diminish their greatness.
Finally, I won't diminish the contributions of Mojo, but also remember he plays in an offense designed around the running game, behind an O-line put together to open holes not pass protect. In Indy, the o-line's job first and foremost is to keep Peyton on his feet. The Indy game plan revolves around the pass game with great receivers in Wayne, Harrison and Dallas Clark. The running game in Indy is a complement to the pass, yet Addai still succeeds.
Sure Mojo shares the rock with Fred, but there hasn't been much of a threat through the air. Addai also has to think quite a bit more, as Peyton's play changes are legendary. Talented and smart, I'll take Addai.
