I checked every year, and the D'Backs haven't really had a RF who's played even 2 years with the club, and Upton has the best chance.

Counsell isn't really a 2B. Yes, that's where he started in 2001. However, he plays SS usually, and he's a utility player. I couldn't find a definate position, and because there was no bench, I had no Counsell.

O-Dog has been a very good, underrated 2B since joining the Diamondbacks in 2006. He's won 3 straight Gold Gloves (2 in Arizona), an All-Star in 2007, and a solid batter as well.

Womack is the All-Time leader for the D'Backs in stolen bases and triples. He was the starting SS in 2001, and he hit a double that brought up Gonzalez in the 9th of game 7.

Batista is 84-90 with a 4.44 ERA, and Anderson is 82-83 with a 4.74 ERA. Very close, but Anderson has the winning %. Batista also played a fair share of relief attempts, so that'd lower his ERA.

Nice team.

Sanders is one of the six members of the 300-300 club with 305 HR's and 302 SB's. So far, Upton has just 13 HR's and 3 SB's. Sanders had a very good career with 341 2B's, 60 3B's and 983 RBI's to go along with 300-300.

In 126 games with Arizona, Sanders hit 33 HR's with 90 RBI's and 116 hits. In 126 games with Arizona, Upton has hit 13 HR's with 42 RBI's and 98 hits. Sanders also hit .263, which isn't great, but is better than Uptons .235.

Counsell is a utility player, but he is a pretty good one. I wanted him on the team, so I put him at 2B. For Arizona all-time, Counsell is:

6th in BA
4th in OB%
7th in SLG%
6th in OPS
5th in runs
5th in hits
7th in total bases
6th in 2B's
4th in SB's

As you can see, Counsell is one of the better all around guys who played for Arizona. Hudson is good, but not as proven as Counsell.

Womack was good, but while playing for Arizona, Bell does have a higher:

OB%
SLG%
OPS
Total Bases
2B's
HR's
RBI's

HR and RBI wise, Bell is FAR better.

Bell- 91 HR's, 304 RBI's
Womack- 19 HR;s, 200 RBI's

Arizona-wise, Batista has a 3.99 ERA to Anderson's 4.52. Batista did pitch in relief. which is another dimension that he has, something Anderson can't do.

With the power that some of these players have, they don't really need Bell.

Womack would be a table setter for this team. His speed and BA would help the imaginary lineup.

Yeah, Counsell was with Arizona longer. However, he isn't as good of a fielder, isn't as well-rounded as Hudson, and can't drive in runs as well as O-Dog.

As far as Upton over Sanders, that one can't really be determined until after the end of this season. Upton's a rookie who should turn it around and become a great player for years to come.

Besides, Sanders was only here for 1 year.

You are right, power isn't needed all that much. But the fact that Bell is better OB% wise, OPS wise, SLG% wise, 2B wise, total base wise, and of course far better both HR and RBI wise; well, those do matter. Bell was far more of a complete player than Womack, which is why I went with him.

At 2B, Counsell actually has made just 22 errors and has a .991 fielding percentage. Hudson has made 65 errors and has a .985 fielding percentage. So the assumption that Hudson is so much of a better fielder isn't true. Then, if you look at their career hitting in Arizona , Counsell had a higher:

Batting Average
OB%
SLG%
OPS
Runs
Hits
2B's
1B's
SB's
Total Bases

So as you can see, Counsell did produce more than Hudson did in Arizona.

Upton could be great for years to come. But this isn't the all-time future Arizona team. If it was, I would have gone with some other guys, and I would have had a much different team. But it isn't. They have both played in 126 games for Arizona. How have they done?

Sanders- 116 hits, 33 HR's, 90 RBI's, .263 BA
Upton- 98 hits, 12 HR's, 42 RBI's, .235 BA.

So, even though Sanders only played one year, he played as much as Upton; and was more productive than Upton

What crack are you on.... JUstin upton???? you could put Byrnes, young, Sanders, and even Danny Bautista ahead of him. at sp Dan Haren over Omar daal easy

Seriously, J23Dude, why Upton? He's in a slump

Report Offensive Comment

Bleed Purple and Gold- If we were going for future superstars, my team would have been COMPLETELY different. But it is the All-Time team, not the future All-Time team, haha.

Report Offensive Comment

How has Haren not proved himself????? He has had 4 games blown from him and has a much lower era than Webb and made the allstar game. What did Omar Daal ever do for the Dbacks??? or Brian Anderson for that matter. Upton WILL BE a superstar not so far

J23, give me a shout when you get to the O's

Haha, you don't have to apologize. I'm just backing up my picks.
