Do you think Motorsports (NASCAR, NHRA, Indy, Nationwide, etc....) should spend more money on there safety programs or on offically lincenced products such as murchindice, new race tracks, etc......???

I would think safety, because if there were no drivers, there would be no sport. I think that it has taken NASCAR and the NHRA to long to implament new safety restrictions. It took the death of 2 racers (Dale Sr. & Scott Kalitta) for them to step up there program. Now NASCAR has the bigger and "bulldozer" like COT and the NHRA has gone from a quater mile track to a 1000 foot track in there Nitro Divisions. I don't think the 1000 ft mark will stay for long. They could just extend the shut down area's at every track, but that would cost way to much money. It took NASCAR 6 years to come out with a bigger and safer car for the drivers.....that's way to long.

What do you think?? Agree......if not, let's TD

I say murchindice. also lincenced products.

Safety? Who needs safety? We all know why folks watch the races anyway...to see big pile-ups. If anything, I say less safety. They have taken all the fun out of car racing. I say lets start strapping explosives to the front end of cars.

Here's another idea, we give the drivers roof mounted, gyroscope guided howitzers to shoot at each other. Then the explosions would be superbad.

How about if the races were like in that old video game "Spyhunter" so that the cars could lay down oil slicks and other cool stuff to make for hellacool pile-ups.

Thjat's what I'm talkin about.

You can always find some random chucklehead to drive the cars. I say we need to make racin fun again. Seatbelts, shmeatbelts.

If it's ok for contestants on The Running Man to kill each other, then its good enough for me, and good enough for NASCAR.

To summarize:

Safety = NO

Murchindice = YES

Not to mention the TV ratings, which is also smart by me.

There TV ratings are already through the roof.....even more so this year than last. Yes, I do enjoy watching Jeff Gordon wreck and take half the field with him but seriously, safety of the driver should be #1 on the list. I agree that we could find any random dude to drive a damn car around a track, I would if I had the chance, but were are we gonna find someone that dumb to drive a car straped with bombs????.........We could recruit some towel heads or get some people from the suicide hot line?? That would make some interesting races......

"How about if the races were like in that old video game "Spyhunter" so that the cars could lay down oil slicks and other cool stuff to make for hellacool pile-ups."

LOL. Funny......how about the old game Twisted Metal?

But on the reals, safety should be the most important thing. Safety is key in alot of sports and most players/drivers would not be doing there job today if it wasn't.....

You know what, I'm not gonna bust chops. You're busting your tail as an enlisted man, while I'm sitting here slacking off. Plus you had a good sense of humor about my 1st argument.

Good deal. No hard feelings...I forfeit.

Best way to improve safety in NASCAR is to remove the seat belts. After the 1st few accidents, nobody will be going faster than 25 mph and leave a car-length's of space in stopping distance for every 10 mph.

That's class.......some people should learn from this

I'd hope, as a fellow enlisted man, that the dude gets an education and learns to spell.

But honestly, has someone gotten hurt in an accident that the rest of us don't know about? They've spent millions on safety, and its working.
