Goodell: Insane in the McCain said 07/16, 04:15 PM
In a blog you wrote you stated that in 2008, The AFC East would be as follows...
NE: 12-4
Buffalo: 7-9
Miami: 6-10
NYJ: 5-11
I say you are WAY OFF......
Personaly as a Bills fan, the Jets are starting to scare me....They did wonders with thier LOS in the off-season. Jenkins, Gholston, and Shaun Ellis. The OL should be much improved with Faneca. Look what a single OG in Hutchenson did for the run game of Minny. Faneca is about as good as it gets in the OG department. Faneca, Mangold and Ferguson should make a pretty meam Left side of the line. Also, Leon Washington averaged 5.0 per carry last season behind a patch work OL.
I say the Jets might just be the most improved team from last season...7-9 for the Jets
Buffalo will do alot better than 7-9. They did that last season while having a leauge high 11 starters on IR. Now you put Marcus Stroud, Poz, and Leodis Mckelvin with PBer Aaron Schobel and monster LB Angelo Crowell. Also, Buffalo gave up a TEAM RECORD LOW 26 sacks last season which was only 5 more than the Pats OL gave up. Now the OL is getting Trent the time and the FO got Hardy in the draft to take the double team off Lee Evans.
Buffalo goes 9-7 or 10-6

Running out of room for this argument...but as you can see, I think that this is gonna be one heck of a season!
Goodell: Insane in the McCain said 07/16, 05:04 PM
Look....There are soo many holes in your predcitions. I want to argue most of them...But those will be for another day. Im gonna try my hardest to stay on topic and in the AFC east.
Buffalo's offensive line is the key here....Like I told you already, the Bills OL gave up a Team Record Low in sacks last season. The QB's had the time and protection to get the ball out, but there wasnt any threat's outside of Lee Evans. With the addition of James Hardy, he will be the Instant #1 target for Trent Edwards in the redzone....You can write that down too..... Buffalo's offense sputterd to put it nicely last season without any depth at WR, or any WR's over 6'0 on the roster.....Hardy is 6 foot 6 with a 40 inch verticle....Not too many DB's can hang with that. Also, he NEVER had less than 50 REC's and 10 TD's in any season while in college. The kid is a playmaker who might just be an early front runner for ROY honors.....Its the perfect marrige. Young QB, RB, Great OL and Speed at WR. The only thing missing is SIZE

Here we go, Sports Fans!
"Goodell: The REAL is BACK" says:
>AFC East
Pats: 13-3
Buffalo: 9-7 or 10-6
NYJ: 7-9
Miami: 3-13
"Greco-Roman" says:
>AFC East
New England Patriots 12-4
[Greco's Notes: Chargers, Colts, Seattle, and Steelers will all go for blood against the Pats this year; everyone wants to be able to say that they beat the mighty Pats. If Brady gets hurt, just sayin' not wishin', then the Pats are in deep doo-doo. Mr. Goodell makes a "safe" prediction at 13-3; but I say why not "grow a pair" and make a gutsy call?]
Buffalo Bills 7-9
[Greco's Notes: Sure, the Bills "might" play better than my pick in 2008, and if they do I will certainly cheer them on. I am in no way a Bills basher, but they gotta earn it - go Bills!]
Miami Dolphins 6-10
[Greco's Notes: Will the Tuna and "Soprano" (HA!) turn around my pitiful Fins? They better or we Fins fans will harpoon the Tuna and feed his blubber to the pigs.]
New York Jets 5-11
[Greco's Notes: The poor Jets - what can I say?]
NOTE TO ALL: Please post your 2008 NFL Win-Loss Picks in the comments section below - don't be shy! Everyone's picks are cool!
It's gonna be a great season!

Patriots:
You say 13-3 and I say 12-4; we are really not that far apart, and considering that we are making these predictions in mid-July, I think that we are both making pretty brave predictions. Most fans that I have polled are picking the Pats to go at least 14-2 or better, obviously based upon their accomplishments last season. From my (brave) perspective, as previously stated, opponents will ???go for blood??? this year, hoping to get that ???we beat the Pats??? feather in their caps. Also, after the way that the Giants pressured Brady in the SB, the same blood-thirsty teams will try to duplicate that feat. So sure, my 12-4 pick for the Pats is gutsy, but for those fans that buck the status quo, vote right >>>
Bills:
You say 9-7 or 10-6 (Hmmm, is this an Obama-like flip-flop? HA!) and I say 7-9; again, we are not that far apart. You are sweet on the Bill???s offense and you have expressed that above. If you believe that the Bills still have some work to do and some winning too, then vote right >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Jets:

Besides that and a little work needed in the AFC East your list is good, but I feel compelled to ask, does the league W/L add up to .500? It doesn't look like it will.

Report Offensive CommentI don't see where he is "way off", if you then say he's pretty close. You have the Jets with 2 more wins. You have Buffalo with 2 more wins. You basically have them in the same order. In other words, nothing even slightly resembling a throwdown starter.
Besides, Bill has Tampa #1 in the NFC South. Vote right.....automatically.
