Alex Rodriguez should not of left the All Star game early. What reason would Alex Rodriguez have to leave the All Star game early? The final all star game at Yankee stadium and you probably have the best current player on the Yankees leaving early. You have Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera staying til the end (let alone on the top step of the dugout.

Lets just say that Joe Saunder's wife had not had their baby. I would understand if Joe Saunders had left once he had pitched to be at the hospital.

But, no player deserves to leave an all star game early (except for injury or icing purposes).

That was the final all star game being played at Yankee stadium and one of the Yankee's finest players leaves an important game early. He should be cheering on the League that could be getting his team Home field advantage (I AM NOT SAYING THE YANKEES WILL MAKE THE WORLD SERIES, LET ALONE THE PLAYOFFS).

I don't care if he is perceived to the be the best current MLB player. He still does not have the right to leave the all-star game early.

Where did A-Rod have to go at 12:00 in the morning.

He is an all star and should appreciate that fact.
I am not saying that A-Rod should be fined.

im assuming he had a dcotors appointment

wow - you should actually argue. If you even have a point. No one would have a doctors appointment at 12:00 in the morning. He would not schedule a doctors appointment at that time because he did not know when he would be taken out of the game.

You should forfeit if you are not going to argue

you should actually argue your point Bunker05

A-Rod left the game because Francona pulled him. Just like he later pulled Jeter. It was out of respect for them as Yankees in that, the last game in the stadium. Hate A-Rod all you want, it had nothing to do with him really. Blame Francona.

"He is an all star and should appreciate that fact.
I am not saying that A-Rod should be fined."

Wow. I didnt even read THAT part. Good think you got Bunker in this. Unless of course you're throwing down against yourself or someone you know. Otherwise, this is a sure loss for you.

July 16, 2008  09:42 PM ET

i do not hate A-ROD

jeter and all the other people got pulled out and still stayed there and cheered on their teammates

A-ROD should not have left the ALL STAR GAME EARLY. Simple as that. He needs to respect the fact that he is an all star . I do not care how good he is- he should stay there and stop being caring about himself so much.

In a way, he was showing an act of selfishness.

July 16, 2008  09:45 PM ET

Do u think I am someone who would waste their time doing like 10 TD's that make no sense. And plus - Bunker claims to of left the site. I have never left the site.

STOP ACCUSING ME OF HAVING MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT. Look at my TD record. i care about my TD record and would not make all those stupid TD's that he is making

Plus why would i lose by saying that he should respect that he should be an all star. Explain that to me

July 16, 2008  09:49 PM ET

hilarious. that did make me chuckle Nolan.

A-Rod leaving the game entirely isnt news. His night is over. He is not the first, and most certainly wont be the last, player to leave. He cant get fined because many of them leave and have left. He's also got plenty of personal stuff going on. I cant blame him for dodging one night of post-game stuff to get out. Is he the consummate professional? Nah. But its not really news.

July 16, 2008  09:49 PM ET

If he stays in the game, as the best player in the game, he doesnt go home early. Simple as that.

July 16, 2008  09:53 PM ET

i know what you are saying, but it is the last all star game that is being played at the historic yankee stadium and he should of been there to cheer on Mariano Rivera when he pitched in the 9th.

He should not be fined. I know players leave early every year, but something should be done to stop this. If they can care enough to stay the whole game when the game actually means something these days, then they should not show up.

Even though his night was over, he still should of stayed around. If he was trying to avoid the media and the post game stuff, then he should not of talked to the media when he left after he was taken out

July 16, 2008  10:05 PM ET

You are not Krobe!!!!

July 16, 2008  10:07 PM ET

Its only a big deal because its A-Rod, Nolan. Thats all it is for me. You make good points. But its not a big deal where I'm concerned.

July 16, 2008  10:10 PM ET

jeter should have been left in!

July 16, 2008  10:12 PM ET

Wait, it's not like he's the only player who ever left the All-Star game early. it's an exhibition, and his only obligation was to show up and play, which he did for 5 innings. And Reggie Jackson was talking during the HR Derby bout how guys like Joe Morgan and other NL All-Stars left the game early and mocked Reggie for staying all 9 innings when he met up with them at resturaunts. I garuntee other players left early from both teams, but people are being ridiculous because it's A-Rod.

July 16, 2008  10:43 PM ET

Yeah, Bunker is not KROBE he also said that he was 2 more other good people

July 16, 2008  10:44 PM ET

Yeah, but back then the all star game was simply just a game that did not mean anything.

now the fame is for home field advantage in the world series

players should realize that and be cheering for their league so that their team could possibly have the advantage when it comes to winning the World Series
