Five Sports Stories that Should Just Go Away

These stories are from SportsCenter, but your list doesn't have to be. Here are my five:

5. Which city is really TITLETOWN?
4. The whole Rich Rodriguez-West Virginia feud
3. Will Tiger Woods be as dominante when he comes back?
2. Who will Barry Bonds sign with?
1. Is Brett Favre coming back?

List your five for your first arguement and then argue why your list is right for the 2nd

5.Agreed
4.are the Rays for real?
3.Agree
2.Agree
1.Agree

Ok since we agreed on everything but #4, looks like all I have to argue is #4. The main problem I have for this story is that it really just needs to go away to stop hurting the people involved. Rodriguez is NOT at WV anymore, so there should be no story about the lawsuit and the hatred from Mountaineer fans. Its sad to see Rich and his family to get treated like dirt by West Virginia fans, but ENOUGH ALREADY! GET IT OFF THE TV!

That "Titletown" thing is THE dumbest piece ESPN has ever run.

There already IS a Titletown. It would be like running a bit about "Which city is The Big Apple!"

No Porkins, Who's Now was the stupidest thing ESPN ever did

Will Ronaldo go to Real Madrid? You two are completely ignorant. It's only been the world's most popular story and you both neglect to put it in your lists? No vote.

Rodger Clemens ?

Key thing that you missed in the opening argument JDawg, "story does not have to be from SportsCenter", Ronaldo going to Real Madrid is the most talked about sports story in Europe/N.A. Soccer Community. Therefore it is a hell of a lot bigger of a story than the Rays or anyother July soft news story

I meant my stories were from SportsCenter but they didn't have to be, so I didn't know about the Ronaldo thing. It doesn't matter anyways cause R.I.P is Carlos Gomez didn't have it on his list either

a) Soccer is not a sport, but a hobby in North America
b) Manchester's owner already said hes not selling him before the season

Report Offensive Comment

Keeper, just because they don't run regular checks on BBC doesn't mean they're ignorant. ESPN and SI and the like are at fault for not reporting on it more, although I don't see how that's an issue either.

^ Very true. Go to Europe or South America Keeper if you want to hear soccer stories, or are you just going to stubbornly try to convince us that soccer matters in the U.S.

Who's Now and Titletown USA is this stupidest things ESPN could do. There already is a Titletown USA so what is the point

Jeez - hard to tell which argument is better - the forfeited one ... or the forfeited one

I'd love to see the "A-Wad" story get lost on the back page
