Good luck

Merrimen Vs. AP

I can pass on him because of Ronnie Brown, let's see how he recovers before we start questioning the Phins run game. However the Phins D was horrible last year and are looking to make the transition to a 3-4. Can you imagine a Porter Merrimen pass rush duo? That would solve anyone's problems on D.

Willis Vs. Ryans

The only difference between these 2 are Ryans proved that his rookie success wasn't a fluke.

McNeil Vs. Romo

Atlanta needs a QB, don't write Matt Ryan off before he even plays an NFL game. The Falcons O-line would be transformed with the Falcons movin Sam Baker to RT or LG and have McNeil in as the most dominant LT in the league.

Thomas Vs. Haynsworth

Thomas is good and if you wanted to go the o-line route I would've taken McNeil over Joe any day. But the Raider run D is horrible and Haynsworth would solve that.

I chose Thomas because McNeil was off the board

Merrimen Vs. AP (again)

Merrimen is off the board for me, and even if he wasn't they just gave a huge contract to Calvin Pace and they drafted Gholston. The Jets need a run game.

Trufant Vs. Williams

The Bills need another corner and would provide them with a great CB duo. Ran out

Peterson- Merrimen

Ronnie Brown has injury problems, and was far from productive last season when he only recorded 602 yards on the season, also I believe when Minnesota drafted Peterson the first time around they had another great RB named Chester Taylor and Bill Parcels has always liked a great RB tandem, so why not?

Peterson is one of the most outstanding rookie RB's in NFL history, and assuming he doesn't get bite by the injury bug he is looking to have a hall of fame like career.

Also the Jets have Thomas Jones, Leon Washington, and Jesse Chatman, who all are very capable RB's, there RB situation is great.

Patrick Willis
A fluke? are you serious? This guy played on a horrible defense and was constantly double teamed, yet he still led the NFL in tackles by well over 20+ tackles, there is no way that his rookie season is a fluke, he's gonna go on to dominate this league like no other LB has since Ray Lewis's early years.

And the main reason the raiders run D is so bad is because they're young, the Raiders are much more in need for help on the O-line than the D-line.

Why no Joseph Addai? He's put up great stats the last two seasons and is only 24.

Forfeited Turn

Hello..... anyone there?

But anyways, to continue with the joseph addai thing, How can you not have him in the first round, despite not starting and being injured he's still managed to wiget 1000 yards both seasons.

Also if you a team inthis draft, your looking for a face of your franchise, why in god's name would you want to waste a pick on a TE?

Wes Welker is not worth a first round pick, he's a guy that is only good for short yardage passes, why not get a guy who can do both like Anquan Bolden.

Well, that's all I got, Happy Voting.

Please just list differences I didn't realize it would come out this long.

July 19, 2008  01:20 PM ET

I don't know about Ryans at #2??

July 19, 2008  01:21 PM ET

Drafting linebackers with top 3 picks is a surefire way to succeed at the NFL draft. Same with drafting returners in the 1st round.

July 19, 2008  01:22 PM ET

^ only linebacker I could think of that fits their defensive system.

I detect a bit of sarcasm. Merrimen is more of a DE in a 3-4, when was the last time he even thought about droping back into coverage? And the Rams need help at the second level. And who in their right mind would let Hester drop back into the second round?

July 19, 2008  01:30 PM ET

Merriman is fine, I was referring to Ryans. Servicable MLBs can be found at your local convenience store, certainly not necessary.

Also, who in their right mind would waste a first round pick on a player who can do nothing but return kicks? There isn't a weapon more easy to neutralize.

July 19, 2008  01:49 PM ET

Cowace if you neutrilize the kick returner you give the offense great field position.

July 19, 2008  01:54 PM ET

And don't tell me that a Witherspoon/Ryans LB duo wouldn't improve that run D.

July 19, 2008  01:59 PM ET

I'd rather the Bills get Nnamdi Asomugha than Marcus Trufant.

July 19, 2008  01:59 PM ET

Actually, Cromartie over Trufant too.

July 19, 2008  02:21 PM ET

I was thinking about putting Cro in that spot, but I didn't feel like arguing that he isn't a one hit wonder.

July 19, 2008  02:56 PM ET

If you are taking great players from a team wouldnt that effect the team the player was taken from?

If Big Ben went to CHI then wouldnt PITT have a big hole that Shaun Phillips could not fill?

July 19, 2008  03:09 PM ET

^ Good point but........ hold on wait, lets just assume that all the players some how made it back to their original teams for the other teams pick.

July 19, 2008  03:34 PM ET

And don't tell me that a Witherspoon/Ryans LB duo wouldn't improve that run D.

Of course it would, but using a #2 pick to fill a position that you can find adequate talent at much later in the draft is idiotic. There is a very good reason why teams rarely take linebackers in the top 5 (excluding 3-4 OLBs).

July 19, 2008  06:22 PM ET

Wow. This is just a bit too much to consume mentally. Not that I cant handle it. But there are so many possibilities.

July 19, 2008  06:22 PM ET

Its also Saturday, and I flip the switch to stupid for the weekend after 5pm Friday. Gotta save brain cells.

July 19, 2008  06:24 PM ET

^ LOL, try typing it up and thinking of the players.
