Ok My pick was between UGA vs ASU and USC vs Ohio st but

USC vs Ohio St seems to have more hype so Ill take them

Picks first Argue later

Good Luck How bout'em

I would say that OSU v USC has a lot of hype around it.

The most "intriguing" to me is Michigan v Notre Dame.

This is Notre Dame's first real game. Or is it? Will Michigan be good enough to beat a team that might be improved from a 3-9 season? Is Notre Dame improved enough to beat a team with good athletes but a new system?

That game will be a litmus test for both of those teams while USC and OSU could still make it into the championship game after losing and will both be good teams regardless.

Good luck to you sir.

In the dictionary intriguing means appealing to,

While the Mich vs. Nd game features two teams wishing to prove them selves my pick contains two natinal title caliber teams

Which sounds more appealing to you?

The winner of this game has a great chance at the national title that my friend alone makes it a great game,

this game features two great defences, and good offences

While I like your style, I dont know that thinking outside the box is a good idea for Tds

Short argument I know, but for this Td we both have have two totally different ways of thinking, my way is logical, yours is creative

So the winner of USC and OSU might go to the national title. Most people are interested to see if OSU is just SEC hexed. No one, save Buckeye fans, will be interested to see the Buckeyes go to the title game again. Even TD'ers stay away from arguing for OSU b/c of the backlash here. There'll be plenty of more games that have national title implications. Even if the winner of that game wins out the rest of the season in boring fashion; it'll be more interesting to see whether an SEC can get into the mix instead of beating each other up.

Notre Dame and Michigan are two of the most storied programs in the nation who have the most interesting storylines in college football with the hiring of Rich Rodriguez and Charlie Weis somehow managing to stick around after a 3-9 season; that's why it'll be interesting. Now throw those two crazy teams on the football field, and what will ensue? Craziness most likely.

I recently asked the FGCFF in a thread what was their games to look for USC vs Ohio st was on every list along with UGA vs Fla,

This game features two of the finest coaches in the nation, some people believe OSU can go undefeated, as I said earlier these are some of the top teams in the country, both have top draft prospects, Notre Dame and Michigan are trying to prove themselves if you think about it so are USC and OSU, USC will be proving that they dont have to have Booty to win games, and OSU will try to prove they are better than they have shown in big Nonconfrence games

Michigan vs Notre dame wont be that big of a deal, Michigan will be running the option with a slow QB, and a RB not named Hart, and may show no improvement , or maybe even decline, ND will improve, I dont think just because they are in the media will make it "intriguing"

Final Statement: The word intriguing means appealing to two championship hopeful teams playing it out for 60 minutes is more appealing to me than two of last years upsetting teams

Thanks for a great TD

USC and OSU will be interesting to see who wins. The game itself will will be two traditional teams going at eachother. It may affect the national championship outlook, but the outcome will not determine who goes to the NC b/c both teams could still make the big game if they lose just that one time to a good football team. Both USC and OSU can get through their conference unscathed. Who's the underdog for people to root for in that game? There's no upset coming from that game, so that takes away a lot of intrigue also.

On the other side, you have two teams who bring more than "traditional football" to the table with off-the-field drama, storied history, and a new option offense with good athletes. The Michigan v ND game will answer many more questions than their counterparts' game.

While OSU v USC may be an obvious pick, things aren't always as they seem.

The rights pick intrigues me, I'll wait for arguments

July 20, 2008  11:29 AM ET

Both have good arguments. I will have to see more. So far I give Georgia 1000 a slim lead.

UGA-ASU MOST INTREGING GAME

July 20, 2008  08:10 PM ET

Dawg, everybody know's UGA is gonna win that.

July 21, 2008  03:23 AM ET

ASU is good, but I am not buying into them as being ready to be a MAJOR challenge to a team that is expected to make a run at the NC. If you are judging by that criteria, gotta place at least USC-OSU game ahead of it.

While I like the unlikely pick, ND-Mich seems more like a morbid curiosity than genuine intrigue.

I thought about this before you posted your last arguement Gafan; I just forgot to say it in an arguement:

Success is a relative term. Every team can't base their season on whether they win the national championship or not. For the rest of 116 NCAA teams who don't win the NC, they have successful seasons by making a bowl, having a winning season, making a BCS bowl, or even just beating a rival. Georgia had a successful season in '07 even though they did not win the SEC championship or NC. Intrigue can't be based on the sole basis of whether a team will go to the NC game b/c of it.

nice peice of writing

July 21, 2008  07:42 PM ET

Yeah, I should've remembered to put it in the arguement.

Good TD Georgiafan 1000. I always need to bring my A game with you.
