Make a top 5 list of teams that aren't in the BCS Conferences but will do some major damage this year.
1. BYU-This team is led by an explosive offense with sophmore Max Hall at the helm. Their O-Line is returning every starter except at the Center position. Harvey Unga is one of the most underrated running backs in the nation. Look out for the Cougars
2. Fresno State-Tom Brandstater looks to do some more damage, and improve from their impressive 9-4 record last year. With 16 starters returning, this Bulldog team is dangerous.
3. Boise State-The Broncos are returning depth at every position except quaterback. Ian Johnson is coming back after a less than impressive junior season but should be a solid weapon. If they find a good quaterback, this team could win 10 games again.
4. Tulsa-The Golden Wave brings in one of the best rushing games in the Non-BCS Conferences. With two great backs returning, Tulsa should run all over opponents.
5. Utah-After a slow start to last season, Utah pulled off 7 in a row before losing their final regular season game to BYU. Their offense is loaded with their two qb system and Darrell Mack returning. This is Kyle Whittingham's best team.

1. BYU: I can't disagree with you. BYU has the best non-BCS offense. They are returning 9 starters from that unit, including 4 of 5 offensive linemen. Their linebackers are their weakness, but they have a chance to go 12-0 with an easy schedule.
2. Utah: If there is any team that can keep BYU from running the table, it's Utah. They are returning their top 7 rushers, including Darrell Mack who had 1200 yars and 12 TDs last year. The defense was tough last year, only giving up 15.5 ppg. They are a great all-around team.
3. FAU: FAU is a real sleeper team. The Sun Belt has never had a team in the top 25, but FAU could get up there. Sure, they play Texas and Michigan State early in the year, but they are returning 20 starters.
4. Central Michigan: Talk about a great offense. CMU has a QB (Dan LeFevour) who threw for 3600 yards and had 1200 rushing yards. They are returning their top 2 receivers, and he is only a junior.
5. Ball State: Homer alert. Ball State is returning 20 starters this year, including phenom QB Nate Davis. Davis had 30 TDs last year and is a pretty good scrabler. Dante Hall and Darius Hill are one of the top WR/TE combos in the nation.

I like these picks. Fresno State is going to be a really impressive team this year. I think for sure they should make your list. They do have a tough schedule with Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Georgia Tech on the schedule, but if they beat all those teams they could go undefeated.
Central Michigan is a good team, but I don't think they're good enough to beat out Boise St., Tulsa, or Fresno St. Dan Lefevour is basically their whole offense. He doesn't really have any weapons at the running back position. The defense is losing a few starters as well. They didn't do a very solid job recruiting, so I don't think they make the top 5 of Non-BCS Teams.
Ball St. can actually make a case on being on the Top 5. That was a good pick by you, but I think Tulsa's better. They were one of the best offenses in the country last year and now have one of the most dangerous running back combos in the country this year. The Golden Wave is a force to be reckoned with this year.

LeFevour has a weapon at running back. Justin Hoskins was the #20 running back in his recruiting class, and he transferred from Notre Dame to CMU. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry last year, but he only had 118 carries. That can change. CMU also is bringing back all of their starters in the secondary, so they have some experience in a place that was their weakness last season. CMU has a tough schedule for a midmajor. They play Georgia, Purdue, and Indiana out of conference, but they could easily go 2-1 in those games.
Boise State lost the biggest part of its offense. Ryan Clady. Clady is the reason why Ian Johnson got all of those rushing yards. They will have a redshirt freshman starting at QB, and they are only returning 1 starting offensive lineman. The offense should struggle for them.
Fresno State is a good team, but they will struggle to have the same success as last year. They play Rutgers, Wisconsin, and UCLA early in the year. They also lost as significant part of their defense.
Tulsa lost Paul Smith. He was the leader of their offense, and I'm not sure if David Johnson can do as well as he did. They also had a weak defense.

Futhermore, Ball State has one of the easiest schedules in the league. If they can get by IU in the non-conference, they could go 11-1. They lost a few close games to big schools (Illinois, Nebraska) last season, and they did not lose any major player. Brady Hoke is a phenomenal head coach who will lead Ball State to a 9-3 record.
