I'll start off with UConn. They had a remarkable season and tied for first in the Big East. But I didn't think they deserved it that much. They had an incredibly easy schedule and got blown out by West Virginia. They lost many weapons from last year, and have a tougher schedule. I can't see the Huskies repeat their success from last year this year.

Rutgers is next. They did lose Ray Rice from a somewhat disappointing year last season. Though he wasn't their whole team. Greg Schiano has done some major recruiting the past few years and soon Rice will be barely known in Rutgers history. They still return their quaterback and a few defensive leaders. I see the Scarlet Knights doing their past success that they've had.

More to come

Uconn has 19 of 22 starters returning from there 9-4 season last year so theres no reason why they wont contend for the title once again. Yes they got blown out against West Virginia but they beat South Florida by a touchdown so they deserved second last year. Plus they crushed Pitt 34-14 and won all there home games with there four loses on the road. Since they play West Virginia and Pitt at home if the trend continues they should only have one lose in the big east against South Florida but even if it doesnt those games will help them and lead them to another great season.

Rutgers - New starting running back, left tackle, and guard there going to be one demsional this season. Yes they have great wide receivers but when the line crumbles Teel isnt the best on the run passer. Yes he has great numbers the past few years but without a running game he will be forced to do to much. Plus they play South Florida, West Virginia, Cincy, and pitt on the road which will be three loses right there and Louisville and Uconn are no easy task. Last year they were 3-4 in the big east and only went 8-5 because they played week non conference teams which like last will hurt them

No Room

Forfeited Turn

Great use of a turn, anyway...

Pitt will not finish in the top three this year. Last year they finished 5-7 with loses against MSU, Virginia, Navy, Rutgers and a few others. If it wasent for the win against WV they wouldnt be in consideration for the title and your just buying into the hype. There returning 17 starters from a 5-7 win team, and 3-4 conference record, which doesnt fit the bill of a top three big east team.

Rutgers has been relaying on the running game to carry there team ever since Greg Schiano came there. This year with a pretty week offensive line and sophmore tailback last years strong point now turnis into a week one. Teams will be able to leave extra men in coverage which will only make Teels job harder, Not to mention they have a new defensive coordinator which doesnt make fourth place any easier to get.

Uconn has 19 of 22 starters returning so how could you say they lost many weapons from last there. Except for there big play wide receiver there qb and rb are still there along with a great defense that only let up 19 points per game last year. There in prime postion to make a run at the big east title this year, no way there finishing fifth.

How do you put Rutgers behind Pitt?

July 19, 2008  07:14 PM ET

Just switch Pitt and West Virginia and you're right

July 19, 2008  07:56 PM ET

NY, give rutgers some love

July 19, 2008  08:04 PM ET

Seriously, NY. Don't let down the Scarlet Knights.

July 19, 2008  08:19 PM ET

After watching Rutgers play last year and a practice of theres this year, theres no way there finishing in the top 5 of the big east, im not letting them down, only letting my cards down, 7th place isnt were i want them to be

July 19, 2008  11:01 PM ET

What do you mean? They were one step from getting to the Orange Bowl.

Wow I can't believe it's 8-0 without NY even making a decent argument. Guys I love votes and wins but I mean he hasn't even defended his standings yet

July 20, 2008  09:08 PM ET

That is INSANE. 8-0 already...I'm voting to NY right now...if at the end Mike earns my vote...then he will get it.

better arguments and accurate arguments (regarding UCONN's returning members)....vote right

July 22, 2008  03:02 PM ET

Left forfeited an argument, but Right is very wrong about Pitt.
I'm undecided

July 22, 2008  03:06 PM ET

I agree with left

Better arguments to right

fine, but I'm not gonna like it

July 23, 2008  11:37 AM ET

huh? Rutgers wont be 4th or 6th..Pitt is NOT better than them, nor is UConn or USF...the order SHOULD be this

WVU
Cincy
Rutgers
USF
UConn
Lousiville
Pitt
Syracuse

July 23, 2008  11:38 AM ET

gotta go right because of the forfieted turn and slightly better arguements
