There are many teams out there that are in need of a QB, but I think the team in most need of a QB is the Miami Dolphins.

John Beck didn't show much promise in four starts last season. Josh McCown is not the answer either and I don't believe Chad Henne is.

Some teams that also need one are: The Falcons. I don't think they need one because they drafted the Best QB in the draft. He is the future.

Ravens- They also used there first round pick on a QB, so I think they should let Flacco have a chance before going after somebody.

Bears- They need one pretty bad, but in all fairness at least Rex Grossman was able to lead them to the Super Bowl a couple years back. He isn't very good but he has led the Bears to a Super Bowl.

Chiefs- Brodie Croyle has shown a little promise with the Chiefs. He could end up being a decent starting QB in the NFL.

Vikings- Tavaris Jackson went 8-4 as the starter last season, so I think he can lead Minnesota to the playoffs.

It looks like Miami's starter is Josh McCown. He has only had one year in his career where he threw more TDs than INTs. And that was 2004 he threw 11 TD to 10 INT. More to come

I'm going with the Chicago Bears. We're talking about Rex Grossman. Rex. Grossman. Well, let's start off by looking at his stats last season:

122-225 passing (54.2% completions)
1,411 yards passing
6.27 yards per attemption
4 touchdowns
7 interceptions
66.4 passer rating.

Grossman only played half of the season and he still managed to throw more picks than touchdowns. His stats from last year were terrible. So he might have had one bad year, right? Wrong. Check out his career stats:

489-900 passing (54.3% completions)
5907 yards passing
6.56 yards per attemption
31 touchdowns
33 interceptions
70.9 passer rating

Still ugly. More picks than touchdowns is bad enough, but then you through in all of that and you might consider Ryan Leaf as a better move.

The Bears need a new quarterback to make any noise in the NFC North, let alone the rest of the NFL. Worst-case scenario the Packers have Rodgers, the Vikings have Jackson, the Lions have Kitna, and the Bears have Grossman, and I'd still say the Bears will finish in last.

If they had a quarterback, the Bears would be winners. They have a solid D, but nobody to throw to help them out on the scoreboard.

The reason I did not pick Grossman was because he was the QB for the Bears in 06-07 when they made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the Colts.

Lets look at Grossman and McCown's best seasons.

Grossman 3,193 Yards 23 TD 20 INT 73.9 Pass rating
McCown 2,511 Yards 11 TD 10 INT 74.1 Pass rating

McCown's career numbers aren't very good either. He has thrown 35 Touchdowns to 40 Interceptions.

If I had to choose one of these players to be my starting QB, even though I really wouldn't want either I would choose Grossman. He led the Bears to the Super Bowl. McCown has never even led one of his teams to the playoffs.

The Dolphins are an absolutely terrible team, and a QB would really help them a lot. They are in much more need of a QB.

Here is a good stat that shows who is in more need of a QB.

The Bears ranked 15th in the NFL in passing last season, and the Dolphins ranked 24th. The Bears are middle of the pack when it comes to passing. The Dolphins are in the bottom half of the NFL in passing.

It doesn't matter that Rex Grossman was the quarterback of a team two years ago that ended up losing for a few reasons.

1) That was two years ago. The 2006-2007 Rex Grossman is a lot different than the 2008-2009 Rex Grossman. Who says that year wasn't a fluke? Or that Grossman isn't like he used to be?

2) The even bigger reason: Grossman wasn't the leader of the team, the star of the team, the cornerstone of that season or anything like that at all. Sure, his TEAM (yes, there were 21 other starters plus special teams) went to the Super Bowl, but Grossman wasn't exactly a MVP candidate. He was no Brady or Manning. The Bears defense was a HUGE reason for Chicago's success that year. Urlacher and the guys kept the other team off the scoreboard. Grossman? He didn't do too much to help them out.

The Miami Dolphins just had a nice draft pick. Chad Henne has the potential to be great in the NFL. Usually when you have a high draft pick you aren't in "need" of the position you just drafted because that guy should be around for a while.

The Chicago Bears need a quarterback more than the Miami Dolphins do.

I didn't say that Grossman had a Manning or Brady type year. He did though have a solid year, and led them to the Super Bowl.

The Bears have proven that they don't need a good QB to win games. They've done well in previous years with Grossman at the helm.

The Dolphins need a QB, McCown is not the answer. Beck has shown very little promise, and I don't think Henne is the answer either.

It may not have been because of Grossman that they made it to the Super Bowl, but he was the starting QB for that team.

Like I stated in my previous argument the Bears had a better passing team than the Dolphins last season. The Bears went 7-9 last season, and the Dolphins went 1-15. The Dolphins really need a QB. They have two good RB's in Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams so now a solid QB is needed.

The Bears with Grossman could very well win the NFC North this season. They did beat the Packers both times last year. I don't see with McCown, Beck, or Henne the Dolphins winning the division or makng the playoffs. A good season for them would be 5 wins.

The Dolphins need a QB more than the Bears do.

"Grossman...did thought have a solid year, and led them to the Super Bowl"

For one thing, HE didn't lead the team, the defense did. For another, let's look at that "solid" year he had:

Rex Grossman 2006 Stats

73.9 passer rating (24th in the NFL)
262 completions (17th in the NFL)
480 attemptions (10th in the NFL, which means he didn't keep his completions up with his attemptions)
54.6 completion percentage (28th in the NFL)
3193 passing yards (12th in the NFL)
6.65 yards per attemption (17th in the NFL)
23 touchdowns (7th in the NFL)
20 interceptions (THIRD HIGHEST IN THE NFL, 30TH WORST)

So, do you still think that in his way to "leading the Bears to the Super Bowl", Rex Grossman had a "solid" season? Just look at that; one stat in the 30th-or-worse column, two stats ranked in the 20's, three in the 10's, and 2 in the Top Ten (one was attemptions, which only means you have to throw a lot).

"Like I stated in my previous argument the Bears had a better passing team than the Dolphins last season."

This year the Dolphins just drafted a future-long-term quarterback with potential. It's different this time.

"The Dolphins went 1-15"

MIA had bad D too.

good luck cheez

I could see Tampa.

July 21, 2008  02:47 PM ET

grossman didn't lead the team to a super bowl... it was the D

July 21, 2008  03:00 PM ET

He was the QB on that Super Bowl team though wasnt he Scpalo

July 21, 2008  03:11 PM ET

doesn't make him good

July 21, 2008  03:11 PM ET

all i am saying is that you said he led them.... i say he didn;t lead them that is all

July 21, 2008  03:47 PM ET

While i agree with all of the comments, Miami is NOW more in need of a defense.

July 21, 2008  09:05 PM ET

VIKES

July 22, 2008  01:23 PM ET

Cheez I'll get my final argument done in a little while

July 22, 2008  05:59 PM ET

It's the Bears because with a good QB they are a contender. If the Dolphins had Manning or Brady they wouldn't be a contender. The Dolphins need a QB, but Chicago needs it more.

July 22, 2008  06:01 PM ET

Good td cheez

July 22, 2008  06:05 PM ET

Crazy idea: Bears go get Favre then they will be in the playoffs according to yahoo sports my bears are ranked 32 in juggernaut!

July 22, 2008  06:06 PM ET

Vikings?

July 22, 2008  06:11 PM ET

Dolphins. They need a face to that franchise badly, and no better place than at QB.

July 22, 2008  06:41 PM ET

Is everyone forgetting the Dolphins have 2 young QB's who could both develop into good QB's?

July 22, 2008  07:09 PM ET

The Bears don't have anyone to pass it to, so a good QB isn't really going to make a difference.

The Dolphins OVERALL team sucks, besides Ronnie Brown, so a QB isn't really going to make that big of a difference either.

Tough decision to vote here.

July 22, 2008  07:10 PM ET

Gotta give my vote to Cheez. That Super Bowl the Bears where in, had NOTHING to do with Rex Grossman.

July 22, 2008  07:25 PM ET

Vote right. Miami just drafted a QB and he may turn out to be the answer to their prayers. But Chicago on the other hand...

July 22, 2008  07:28 PM ET

I think the Dolphins have some good options at QB, but the Bears don't even have good OPTIONS with Grossman and Orton. SOMEBODY in Miami will find his rhythm - Beck, McCown, Henne. One of them will step up. Do you really expect Grossman or ORTON to step up? I think I'll see a the Jets at the Super Bowl before Grossman or Orton become successful.

July 22, 2008  09:29 PM ET

Plus - I'd say it's the PATRIOTS or COLTS that need a QB worse than anybody. If little Pey-Pey and Tommy Boy get a little boo-boo..... they are screwed.
