1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side and argue
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.

Will the W/L of the BENGALS improve or Decline

My Pick DECLINE

I say that they will improve.

They have a good team and they also have a pretty easy schedule.

Last year they were 7-9. I say this year they will go 8-8.

They start off against the Ravens this year, who they can beat. The Ravens don't have a great team.

1-0

Tennessee - They don't have a good WR and the Titans will lose

2-0

Giants - The Giants have a good team, and this is where the Bengals receive their first loss.

2-1

Browns - they have a good team, and with an improved defense, the Bengals lose

2-2

Dallas - The Bengals lose this in a blowout.

2-3

Jets - the Bengals will win this

3-3

Steelers - The Bengals are losing here

3-4

Jaguars - The Bengals are playing at home, but lose this.

3-5

Houston - The Bengals win this game.

4-5

Philadelphia - Bengals offense drives them for the win

5-5

Pittsburgh - Bengals lose at heinz field.

5-6

Baltimore - the Bengals win this for the same reason as game 1.

6-6

Indy - THe Bengals lose this

6-7

Washington - It'll be tough, but the Bengals win

7-7

Cleveland - Bengals lose here

7-8

Kansas City - The Bengals win here

8-8

ok, So rather than debate the Sched

Lets breakdown the Roster

QB- Coming off a career year for Picks
RB- Uh, WHo? Chris Perry (BUST) coming back Rudi (Killer of Fantasy Leagues Hall of Famer) coming back and what else?
WR- TJ is going into the year as the Number 1 guy- and Chad is STILL fussin and Fuming- unless they trade him for Reggie Wayne - TJ is going to have LARGE Shoes to fill

O-Line - Levi Jones wants out- and Willie Anderson played all of 5 games -and Anderson is so old he was there before the Bail Bondsman was put on the coaching staff. The Guy Blocked for Boomer Esiason

Speaking of Old How about the Dexter Jackson Deltha O'Neal combo in the D backfeild! I like the younsters of Lynch and Hall - But they have some MAJOR growing up to do.

The Linebackers don;t have that problem only TWO PLayers have been pulling a NFL check as long as Obama has been pulling a US Senate check - and only ONE member of that group has been in the NFL before Marvin took the Bengals Job!

The Linebackers average 2.3 years of XP.

Lotta youth, lot of mistakes

Well...you didn't post an argument, so I kinda posted one.

QB-That means he will have a less picks this year.
RB-They might not have that great of a RB, but we aren't talking about Fantasy football either.
WR-They have good WR, with a good QB to help them out. Chad Johnson has calmed down a little, so TJ and CJ will do well this year as they have in past years.

O-Line - The O-Line might be having a little age problems, but they still are a good o-line and can block for the passing game. The Bengals had a good passing game last year, and that is what they will have this year, a not-so-good running game, with a good passing game.

Again, the old problems are being dealt with. They have Lynch and Hall to deal with the oldness of the D-backFIELD. They will do okay in the backfield.

The Linebackers will do well as they don't have the age factor effecting them. They will do well this year, and they don't seem to have a big problem on defense. They will be doing well this year, and the defense will be able to stop the opposing teams, and the Bengals will get to a 8-8 record.

Lot of talent = 8 wins

"QB-That means he will have a less picks this year."

What? any reason for that fact or is it simply the fact that it is impossible to throw more than 20 picks in a season?

I am SURE in his rookie year- everyone thought THAT would be his high water mark in Picks.

You can ALWAYS have more than 20 ints -there is a certain QB in Green Bay that has done that 5 times and almost had 30!

"RB-They might not have that great of a RB, but we aren't talking about Fantasy football either. "

Here is the thing- you have to get REAL yards to get fantasy numbers- If you look at Rudi Johnson -who was the #1 guy in Cincy and he gets LESS then 500 yards- He stinks in ANY system

"Again, the old problems are being dealt with. "

How?

Botox?

Marvin is 42-38 with this team and has gone from 11 to 8 to 7 wins since his rebulding program

his BEST OL and his BEST player both want OUT

How much longer can he have left in Cincy?

With the Criminals (and drafting Shirley was like the Blazers getting Isiah Rider back in the day)

and the disarray- and not exactl;y an EASY schedule.

Sorry- back a step here.

Carson Palmer isn't going to have another career-high for interceptions. His INTs will go down. He will have a better year, and half less INTs than last year.

We are talking about this UPCOMING season, not Palmer's rookie year. He might not have had a lot of INTs in his rookie year, but last year he did, and this year he will have less.

I know you can have more than 20 INTs, and I'm saying that Palmer will have LESS than last year.

Yes...the RB situation isn't the best spot for the Bengals. It isn't really going to effect them that much. They might have some little porblems with the running game, but that isn't going to effect the record of the team, very much.

The old problems are being dealt with by getting younger players, like they have been.

They might have decreased in wins, but that doesn't mean that they will continue the trend. They will get 8 wins, so they will actually RAISE the winning mark from last year.

Chad Johnson will actually report to camp, so how much does he really want out of Cincy?

Their main criminal (Chris Henry) is gone, so that will be a benefit to the Bengals.

They have a medium schedule.

They will IMPROVE from last year.

So much for using your 1st argument..........

July 21, 2008  02:13 PM ET

Cant help but IMPROVE.........

July 21, 2008  02:29 PM ET

How DARE you Sir! DECLINE?!

Vote right.

July 21, 2008  03:16 PM ET

Nope, Bengals improve this year. All the distraction players are gone (except maybe 85) and they are still talented on offense and defense.

July 21, 2008  03:23 PM ET

The Bengals will decline? Is this based on number of wins, or the size of their roster as the season progresses, since every week another teammate will be jailed?

July 22, 2008  12:48 AM ET

^^^^ LOL at The Ram ^^^^

July 22, 2008  08:10 AM ET

LOL at The Ram, too.

Decline. Dyhard, you call for the Titans to lose to the Bengals. I don't think so. No, they don't have a standout WR, but they have Crumpler at TE and Lavelle Hawkins has shown a lot of promise. Also, Gage will improve at WR with Moulds out of the picture. He'll get more tosses.... so maybe all the naysayers will finally get off the whole "Titans suck at WR" bandwagon.

Plus - the Bengals whipped the Titans' **** last year. I think they will remember that and be ready for it.

All in all, I think the Bengals will "barely" decline from last year. They are still good. The truth is, though, any team can emerge as the winner against any other team on any given Sunday. I won't be SURPRISED if the Bengals take off this year, but I doubt they will. They have in-house issues that always tear teams apart. Just like Pacman destroyed the Titans.

I buy the arguemnts from the Pimp moreso than dyhard. Things like

"he will have a less picks this year."

and

"He might not have had a lot of INTs in his rookie year, but last year he did, and this year he will have less.

I know you can have more than 20 INTs, and I'm saying that Palmer will have LESS than last year."

are just opinions. You didn't support them in any way. You just said it would happen.

July 22, 2008  11:59 AM ET

Vote to the person who doesnt refer to Cassidy as Roy.

July 22, 2008  07:54 PM ET

Then you would vote against everyone.

July 22, 2008  07:54 PM ET

Which means you wouldn't be able to vote.

July 23, 2008  12:27 AM ET

hmmm. A bifg part of dyhard's argument is his sched breakdown, trouble is, there are 4 results I don't agree with. Vote left.
