1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Washington Redskins
3. NY Giants
4. Phila Eagles
1. Cowboys have a better QB (****) than the rest of the division and a better O-line. Their D-line is quite good esp. with the addition of Tank Johnson. The short w. TE Jason Whitten along with their running game w. Marion Barber and Felix Jones as a good 1-2 punch.
2. Redskins have a healthy O-line this yr. unlike last yr. Also their receivers are ramped up with S. Moss, Randel El and Chris Cooley (the most under rated TE in the league) also he will be getting a good back-up with Fred Davis. And the addition of Kelly and Thomas who will be like an Anthony Gonzalez. The D always being at the top of the league now have a great pass rusher in jason taylor adding that w. reinaldo wynn and Griffin. The LB's are continueing to be run stoppers. The D-backs lead by LaRon Landry (had 2 picks in his 1st playoff game).
3. Giants, the superbow champs will have in rocky season like always also by trading away shockey and relying on K. Boss, who will have a sophmore slum esp. w. the pressure of being the starter. The defense is also losing their leader and they didnt really replace him w. anybody good.
4. McNabb is old.
Bigdleech said 07/21, 10:56 PM
1. Cowboys-I would never argue against it.
2. Giants
3. Eagles
4. Redskins
The Giants should be better than last year. They showed in the playoffs that they didn't Shockey. Not everyone has a sophmore slump. That is made up crap. In fact, Boss had a lot more pressure being the starter in the Super Bowl than he will have on him this year. The defense still has a lot of talent, and they are very deep on the d-line. And Eli gained a lot of valuable confidence and experience over the playoffs.
The Eagles have gotten slightly better with the addition of Samuel. And if you want to throw in a receiver drafted this year, Jackson can not only be a deep threat, but he can also return kicks very well. If McNabb does stay healthy, they could challenge the Cowboys for the division. You can argue that Westbrook is the best running back in the league, and he definately is by far the best in the division.
You can't say the Redskins will be better because of their receiving corp. You can never trust players drafted in the second round to come in and have a big impact. Randle El hasn't been great since he left the 'Burgh, and Santana Moss is nothing special as a receiver, either.

The Giants put all the eggs in a basket by trading away their starting TE, a very good one at that. And that is alot of pressure for a relatively young starter and in the playoffs he was pretty good but thats only 3games and he was only a factor in 2 of them. Their defense got worse than it did better they didnt add any new D-backs or D-line. And the LB corp is just above par.
The Eagles are a very old team with the better years behind them, with a old and inconsistent QB. And West brook is very good running but without a complete passing game he can't be very effective. BTW he doesnt stay healthy that often (knee). And yes Samuel is a very good add, a great one. But he still needs time to develope i mean he was on the Pats who had a great D-fense with a great skeem in a we built system. Hes just young and coming out of a great team and organization.
The Redskins are much better, the receiving corp is much better, and there were no receivers drafted in the 1st round. They got the 2nd drafted WR. Also you forgot Chris Cooley (one of the best and underrated TE's). Randel El was good on the steelers but, he wasnt utilized as much as he is now. Their D is top in the league.
Bigdleech said 07/22, 12:20 AM
Shockey needed to go. He did nothing for them last year, and they won the Super Bowl. Hmm...He complained way too much. The defense is still very good. You can't count the Super Bowl champs out when they are about the same talent-wise as a team.
The Eagles are old, but they still have a lot. Westbrook is healthy a lot. The last two years, he has missed a combined two games. I wouldn't exactly call that injury problems. He is extremely effective in every manner, especially in the passing game. Asante Samuel doesn't need time to develop. The fact that he was on the Pats doesn't make him develop slower. In fact, he has a lot more valuable experience than others have.
The Redskins are not much better. Again, you can't look at a couple second round picks and say that they will make an offense much better. And you still can't trust Campbell at all just yet. Cooley is pretty good, but he isn't one of the best in the league. I didn't forget him, I had no need to mention him after you did. RANDLE EL(correct spelling) was utilized more as a Steelers. He returned it, ran it, caught it, and threw it. Their D isn't even the best in the division, and definately not at the top of the league

He may haved needed to go but they needed to replace him with a reliable guy. Not a three game player. Plus besides the Pats and the colts last yr the historical the superbowl champs dont have a good season. Over 60% of the time the superbowl champs dont make the playoffs the next yr. Plus Eli's confidence will go down after he has a game like the Vikings game (4ints, 3got returned). Place there running game got lucky last yr, the backs were only succesful because no1 saw them b4 so they didnt plan or know there tenancies.
The Eagles, besides westbrook dont have much lets be hones McNabb doesnt have any1 good to throw to and isnt that good of a passer anymore plus his injuries: McNabb hasn't played an injury-free season since '04. Hes always hurt and its his knee (one of the most important parts for a QB). Esp. him who likes to move around alot. There passing game ranked 18th last yr. Plus they missed the playoffs the past 2yrs. And w.o an effective passing game u can't have an effective running game. Also we a decent Defense.
The Skins are much better adding a new coach a primerly QB coach. and they have more weapons than last yr. There defense is always solid
Bigdleech said 07/22, 05:08 PM
Wow, so many grammatical errors. But let's not talk about that.
Boss played a lot of the regular season, too. He wasn't a massive surprise in the playoffs. We knew going in that he could play, and he has shown that he has the talent to be a top ten or fifteen tight end in the league. Enough about him.
McNabb has gotten injured a lot. But he is still a very talented guy, and he has proven time and time again that he can win without big name wide receivers on the team. They have a solid line and a good defense. They can't have an effective running game without an effective passing game? Are you kidding me? Is that why Westrbook is probably the second best back in the league? And they missed the playoffs last year, but they made it past the wild card round the year before, where they lost to the Saints. Get your facts straight.
The Skins are not "much better". They didn't add a new coach, they got a new coach because Joe Gibbs had to go. You can never telll how a new coach will do. He could crack under the pressure. And even with Gibbs being a shell of what he used to be, I would still take him over the guy who wasn't the best coach that they were going after.

Report Offensive CommentSorry, Jason Taylor isn't enough to move the Skins up to 2nd in that division. He doesn't even get them up to par with the pass rush of the other three teams in the division. Now, if they were to go out and get a real QB I might be worried. As is...new coaching staff, new system, crappy QB gets his job back...I don't see it. Not this year, anyhow.

And I wanted to say something along those lines, CCC, just didn't have the room. He wasn't really hat big of an upgrade.

Report Offensive CommentI'm leaning way right. McNabb has finally recovered from his knee injury and will be back to his old self. The Redskins are an average team. The Giants lost a safety, linebacker, and DE

As I said, Taylor was an upgrade. But he wasn't a huge upgrade. He is a solid player, but he isn't going to elevate your defense that much.
Bigdleech | 07/22/08, 12:22 AM
Report Offensive CommentHe is the missing peice for our D....we had no pressure from the D-line last yr. we have a solid LB group and the D-backs are good and young, Landry had 2picks in his 1st playoff game. The had the 4th run stopping Defense in the NFL. Going against the "amazing" brian Westbrook twice. Also held the ROY A.P. to only 27yds and held the cowboys to 1yd on the ground one game. And Romo to 43.8 same game.

Trading a starting TE is not 'ALL of the Giants eggs'. That alone didn't get them past the Cowboys, Packers, and Pats. They did lose some talent in the off-season but I still like them in the 2 spot.
