When I compiled my list, I based it on career numbers, not single season. So:
1. Herschel Walker
2. Tony Dorsett
3. Ricky Williams

Hershell Walker is a legend. No RB before or since has possessed his combination of power and speed. At 6'2 222 pounds he just ran over people:) or if he chose not to run them over he had all the speed and agility of a scat back.
From year one he was an immediate impact player. Herschel Walker played three years at UGA and was a unanimous All-America every year.
When he left after his junior year, he owned 41 school records, 16 SEC records, and 11 NCAA records.
As a freshman in 1980, he led Georgia to a 12-0 record and the national championship. He rushed for 1,616 yards in his freshmen year! This was an NCAA record for a freshman and lasted until 1996. In the Sugar Bowl he rushed for 150 yards and was named Outstanding Player as Georgia beat Notre Dame 17-10 for the national championship.
Georgia had records of 10-2 in 1981 and 11-1 in 1982. Walker placed third in Heisman Trophy voting in 1980, second in 1981, first in 1982. In 33 regular-season games he scored 55 touchdowns, and rushed for 5,259 yards (an average of 159 a game). He also starred in track. In high school in GA, he was state champ in the 100-yard dash (9.9)
Next Barry and Bo

i thought i got this one damn it!!!!!
Red "Galloping Ghost" Grange changed the game of football forever that was how good he was. After he left Illinois he gave respect to a then struggling pro game. But he was one hell of a college running back. In only 20 games he rushed for 3,362 yards and 31 touchdowns. In one game against Chicago in 1924, he ran for 300 yards and passed for 177

I considered Dayne instead of Ricky, but Williams still has the record for all total yards over Dayne, and had more touchdowns too.

Going to be tough to argue that Barry Sanders doesn't belong on the list, T-Fo. But, I'll see what your rationale is.

I was basing it on career, not single season, which Sanders wins hands down.

Uh, Noles. Why did you spend an entire argument on Herschel Walker when both of you have him number 1? He agreed with you. You don't need to argue that point.

Hey Noles Fan why did you waste your 2nd arguement on Walker if you both have him as the best? Still waiting for arguements.
