30 Teams . . . 30 TDs 3 Rules - Denver

1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side and argue
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.

Will the W/L of the Broncos improve or Decline

My Pick IMPROVE

Perfect timing....Just got back from lunch and this is open on the TD page.

**Denver's record will stay the same OR get worse and the reason's are many.**

1) Jay Cutler - I am in NO WAY bashing him, but when you suffer from diabetes it is not an easy disease to overcome. My wife had gestastional diabetes when she was pregnant, and her blood sugar could swing 100 points in an hour. Fatiuge is DEFINITELY an issue as it was reseasoned that the diabetes were cause for the low numbers in the second half of the season.

2) Thier Schedule - OUTSIDE of the AFC West, they have to play New Orleans, Tampa, Jacksonville, New England, Cleveland, and Buffalo. Take into account they play SD 2x each and they dont have a .500 team

3) The offense - I love the Ryan Clady pick up, but there is no depth at WR for Cutler to work with. Even though Javon Walker is extremely overated, he is still a better WR than Keary Colbert who is currently #2 on the depth chart. The running game should be fine with Selvin Young who averaged 5.2 per carry last season, but the passing game will suffer.

They Traded the AFC SOUTH and NFC North for the AFC East and NFC South

Hands up who thinks thats a Better schedule

and please don;t mention the Bills in the same line as the Jags and Pats until they go to the playoffs until they have more than one winning season this decade ok?

Ok Lets look at injuries they had last year

RB- Henry lasted what a month? Then went down

WR- Stokely came over from Indy- started 9 games

OL-
From Right to Left

Erik Pears - New Position
Montrae Holland - New Team
Chris Myers -New Position
Chris Kuper - Hurt 11 games in

Other than LT Matt Lepsis NONE of the Broncos were in the same spot all 16 games- and HE retired! Ben Hamilton missed all 16 games - But plug Grady in at LT and the right side is the same people with Hamilton next to the rookie.

Now the D

Guess how many of the Day 1 Front 7 started all 16 games

If you said TWO that is CORRECT!

Defensive Line

Crowder - Rook
Moss - Rook
Mallard - Rook

how does that work when your top 3 backups and (esp Crowder) is your rotation and backups are brand new?

BAd for last year
Good for this year

With all they STILL won 9 games

W/ a NEW QB

Blasphemy.....

You and I both lnow that the only reason the Bronco's won any games is they had a quasi-respectable offense, that has done nothing but take SEVERAL Steps backward. If it wasnt for Travis Henry, they wouldnt have beat Buffalo week 1. He racked up over 150 yards in that game....Losing him is not a death blow by any means, but the loss hurts the overall RB depth, for a team that wasnt that deep to begin with. Especially the way the NFL is goin today....Outside of NE and Indy, most successful teams go RBC to a certian extent.

Walker is a bum, and I hope he totally flops in Oakland, but he only started 5 games last season...And got 25 REC's. Thats 5 per game. Considering Jay Cutler only averaged 18 completetions per game last season, that's 1/4 of the production from Cutler.

If it wasnt for Travis Henry, they wouldnt have beat Buffalo week 1.

-- Oh like beating Buffalo means anything anymore

Steve Tasker is NOT walking through that door!

anyway, if there is ANY team that can get past a loss of a RB- its been the Broncos- in the Shanananananahan era, how many RB have they had to crack 1K? I mean geez!

The D does have some problems- but there are going to revamp it a bit and make it a bit simpler- centered more on Dumervil (and is dozen sacks) with DJ Williams (and his 141 tackles) going back to weakside LB plus the Secondary- with Champ and Bly- and that is not a bad thing, plus having Lynch around to help is a good thing as well.-plus Abdullah is coming into his own as well.

The Sched

Oak,KC,Miami,ATL,OAK,Jets,KC,Buff

There is 8 wins right there- Plus if they can pick off Car,TB,Hou or even NO at home in week 3- so much the better- Cutler is STILL young- and this is only his second year as the starter.

"anyway, if there is ANY team that can get past a loss of a RB- its been the Broncos"

Agreed, but Shannahan has always had depth at that spot. He has always had the RB's battling each other in practice to try to get the starting nod. But Shannahan doesnt have that this season. Selvin Young looks to be pretty decent, but when the #2 is Michael Pittman, your in trouble. He hasnt had over 70 carries in a season since 2004. Even as a back up he has seen extremly limited playing time. After Pittman is Ryan Torain. Torain was a 5th round pick in a weak draft class. Persoanly, ive never even heard of the guy.

The Defense is also gonna be lacking. Even though they got Dre Bly, you cant take a player from a horrible D, and expect THAY guy to be the one who turns it around for every one. Dumerville looks legit, but Jarvis Moss is a waste of space....John Lynch is getting VERY Old too....Im sorry, but when your older than Stowe, you shouldnt be in the NFL anymore

Sorry, Dave...I agree with ya.

Denver is, and has been for awhile, a team on the decline. As long as that head coach stays there, they will continue their march in to suckatude. And Goodell has yet to touch on the major reason why, and that is the defense. Starting this season with their 3rd D-coordinator in 3 years....yeah, its that bad. Bates was pitiful in the job. Their good D-coordnator, Larry Coyer, is in Tampa. LOL.

Report Offensive Comment

you know as a bronc fan I may have to agree wiht Gruden, and its not just teh defense, Shanahan was not the offensive genius, the offensive genius is now the head coach in houston, shanahan got a lot of undeserved credit for those 2 rings

Denver's D will be much better this year than last. They're going back to a more basic scheme, and will have LB's back to their normal positions. The big question will be whether or not the D-line can produce the pressure up front. They have the corners to bring in the turnovers, but the pressure needs to be there to help the cause.

Report Offensive Comment

No, the offensive genius is now the head coach in TENNESSEE. Which is another reason the Titans won't be last in the AFC South.

Report Offensive Comment

I definitely think Denver will be better, but they only won 7 games, David. Great point on the d-line, though. Cutler will be better, the locker room will be better, and their defensive schemes will be better.

Report Offensive Comment

"No, the offensive genius is now the head coach in TENNESSEE"

Really? When did the Titans fire Jeff Fisher? You do know that Jeff is a defensive guy, right?

Report Offensive Comment

Starting this season with their 3rd D-coordinator in 3 years

You said in another TD that ANY change is a good change

Report Offensive Comment

"Jarvis Moss is a waste of space"

Jarvis Moss hasn't had the chance to show what he can do in the NFL. He was out last year with an injury. That assumption can't be made yet.
