1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side and argue
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.

Will the W/L of the Chargers improve or Decline

My Pick IMPROVE

Decline.

Gates, Rivers, and Tomlinson are all coming off of injuries. And all these injuries are either foot or knee related. Not a good sign. All though they will all most likely be fine, you never know with knee and foot injuries.

Michael Turner is also gone this year, The Chargers will find out early in the year how LTs knee is. The Chargers will have to rely on Darren Sproles to take Turners carries, or LT could have to take more, which would be an adjustment for him.

The Chargers lost their nickel corner, Drayton Florence in Free agency. Their draft pick, Antoine Cason, the new nickel CB, has still not signed his contract.

The Broncos and Raiders are likely to improve this year as well. San Diego went 4-4 on the road and 7-1 at home. They can not continue to play .500 ball on the road if they are to improve their record this year.

My pick: 10-6

"Michael Turner is also gone this year"

--sorry If this hurts ATL fans

But I don;t care- I have watched Hester for a few years at LSU- and this guy is never going to be a STAR in the NFL but he is going to be pulling paychecks in the NFL for a LONG time. He is going to be a GREAT player in his role.

LDT/PR are all claimed 100% right now- and both do NOT have a story of injuries

Gates has stated he is 70-80% outside of Baltimore and Washington and a few other cites 75% Gates is better than what you got.

The Chargers also get the NFC South this year and the AFC East

They won 11 going vs the AFC South and NFC North

I'll take that trade any day- yes they get

the Pats AT HOME
The Colts AT HOME

Those are the two hard games- they go TO Buffalo - in mid-October- about the only chance they have of seeing snow is Nov 16 in Pitts

and look at this late sched

ATl,Oak,KC,TB,Den - not to shabby if you are trying to get home feild.

Finally last year was year 1 after a TERRIBLE coaching staff turnover- new HC,New DC new pretty much new everything after Marty Ball.

Sorry about this argument Im short on time.......

While Rivers and Tomlinson are said to be 100% healthy no one can really be sure......LT was suposed to be ready to play vs the Pats in the postseason and he couldnt....

Nickel CB is a huge concern for the Chargers, and if Cason signs late that will set SD back and could cause that to be a problem in the early part of the season until Cason is fully comfofrtbale and knows the whole defense.

If San Diego wants to be great, they have to play better than .500 on the road. I see them going:

Home: 6-2
Away: 4-4

I will go over the schedule next argument but that is how it will break down.

While they will not get of to the horrible start they had last year, they will not be as good down the stretch and will finsh 10-6.

"While Rivers and Tomlinson are said to be 100% healthy no one can really be sure"

True- I mean for all we know every good player in the NFL can fall down during week 1 and become cripped - and the Miami Dolphins can beat the Falcons in the SuperBowl

back to real life.

If Nickel Corner is the Biggest worry you can come up with for that D- I can live with that vs the AFC West- who has a solid NUMBER 2 much less a 3rd Wideout?

All 5 O-Linemen are back - and 4 of the 5 enter year 3 as a unit

You do know that they went 10-2 the end of the year and closed the year on a 6 game win streak - winning AT the Cheifs and AT Tenn? Not exactly two of the easy places to win at.

The first 5 games this year are ALL vs teams that will be working themselves to get better
Car,Den,NYJ,OAK,Mia 5-0 Easy ( CAROLINA LOVE)
Then the Pats- AT HOME
Buff, at NO

they should be NO WORSE than 6-2 going into the bye week

KC, @ Pitt,Indy, - Two hard back to back- but again the Colts come TO SD
ATL, OAK, KC,TB,Den

You have 3 hard games- Pitt on the road AND Colts/Pats at home

there are NOT 6 losses here!

Longoria - good point about the injuries.

lol they had pats at home this year and they got killed no offense im a big time charger fan but like seriously...there div is a joke... not that there bad i have them makin it to the superbowl..but its something thats in there blood to lose to the pats..

Vote left, simply because the right thinks the Broncos will improve. And .500 ball on the road is pretty good, especially when they dominate at home.

July 22, 2008  03:36 PM ET

Cutler will be worlds better this year.

July 22, 2008  07:56 PM ET

Its pretty hard to argue a team as talented as the Chargers is going to finish 10-6 or worse. I'm leaning right but I'll wait on arguments

But.... but... but all you **** out there who think the Titans SUCK are forgetting that we almost whipped the Chargers **** last year. Got a bad call on a catch at the end of the game and ended up losing. But for all intents and purposes, the Titans outplayed the Chargers (regular season, not playoffs). So now which is it? The Chargers are the "bomb", or the Titans suck. You can't make up your minds.

ANd yes - Cutler will be worlds better, no doubt. Now he knows how to combat his fatigue (diabetes), and he will be the second coming of John Elway as far as Denver is concerned. He needs some more personnel to deal with, though.

The Titans only made the playoffs because the Colts didn't play their starters in week 17.

David, you know that some of these may get the response " too obvious" I.e. Patriots, Dolphins, etc. I wouldn't responed like that and always try to argue but i have a feeling especilaly NE and Miami's may get that .
