Name a trade for Artest and would he be a good fit in Detroit????

I think it would be a nice pickup and they could trade Rasheed Wallace and a 1st rounder for Artest and Kenny Thomas (to make the salaries work) would be a good move

G-Billups/Stuckey (bad idea)
G-Hamilton/Affalo
F-Prince/Maxiell.......Prince could play the PF much like Rashard Lewis in Orlando
F-Artest/Thomas
C-McDyess/Amir Johnson/Plaisted

Artest could give the Pistons a solid defender to team with Prince at the forward spot.......

G-Udrih, 12.8ppg and 4.3apg
G-Martin, 23.7ppg and 4.5rpg
F-Wallace (12.7ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.7bpg, 1.2spg) is a better starting PF than Mikki Moore=backup center
F-Garcia, 12.3ppg and 3.3rpg
C-Miller, 13.4ppg, 9.5rpg and 3.7apg

Wallace gives the Kings more versatility at PF since he can step out and hit the 3 plus he is a better offensive option than Moore at the 4.......Plus the Kings arent exactly going to be contending any time soon......Wallace and Miller give Sacramento a couple solid vets to mentor the young kids.......

You traded one of the best (and I can argue 2nd best) in the NBA for a PF/C that is not even the best post player on his team and is about as clutch the past 2 years as Chris Webber was a decade ago .

I have watched Wallace since he was a Freshmen at North Carolina- and he has NEVER MENTORED ANYONE- him and the other Freshemen at UNC went to WAR with the Senoirs at UNC and almost got Dean smoking again!

If I am the Kings the ONLY way I trade Artest is if I get Maxiel and Rodney Stuckey and number 1 (or a couple of Number 1s)

I know you are the guy that thought you could get Carmelo, Wade or Bosh straight up for Kwame Brown last year (and only Memphis agreed with you)

but this a NO GO from the Kings.

Once again you are hallucinating and putting words in somebody else's mouth to get votes.......Never wanted Bosh, Wade or Melo for Brown......Plus comparing Wallace to Brown is extremely unknowledgeable..........

The bottom line is the Kings wont trade Artest within the West because he could come back to haunt them much like Favre being traded within the NFC........

1 reason??? Give you 2........

I would be willing to bet that if you gave me the 26,27,29 AND the 30th pick in next years draft I'm not trading Wallace for that.

1. Wallace- Versitile at the PF-

Just what a 38-44 team needs to get them over the hump in the west- a 12.7 PPG and 6.6 Rpg 34 year old PF to replace the best Defensive SF in the NBA that gives me 20 PPG and 5.8 Rpg

Less a board per game LESS than your PF. - and almost 8 PPG less.


The Kings arent going to get a "star" for Artest.......Odom isnt going to put the Kings over the top either and that is the most talked about trade for Aretest.......Its unlikely to happen though because the Kings despise the Lakers and dont wanna help them.........

Where was Gilbert Arenas taken? 2nd round
Manu Ginobili? Late in the 2nd round
Josh Howard? Was drafted 29th overall

These are only 3 picks but a shrewd GM like the Spurs have can find these types of players so that argument holds little weight

Right and how many players from those drafts still pulling NBA checks?

I would be willing to bet- from 20th pick on to the end of round 2

the past 20 years

that is 600 picks total (30 picks times 20 years)

you will not find 150 players TOTAL that started more than 50 games in the NBA

Thats only about 25% hit rate

DO that and I will FF enough TDs to you to tie me in Wins

Melvin was the 9th round pick of the 1985 Draft for the Spurs.

so even the mighty SPURS dont hit on thier post 20 picks

Wallace is not what the Kings need right now. They are in rebuilding mode, and an aging, bad rebounding PF is not what they need right now. Plus, he isn't the best mentor... Not to mention teh fact that Artest going to Detroit is a horrible idea. He is the most hated player in Detroit.

Has to be David here. The Pistons do need to move Rasheed but the Kings really have no need for the guy. The Kings are sold on Thompson (their draft pick) and they have some young bodies at the PF position.

Plus, think of the PR nightmare bringing Artest back to the Palace would cause?
