The Colts run is over this year.Yea Peyton Manning is still there but Harrison is getting old and the defense is suspect whenever something happens to Bob Sanders which is often. The Jags just simply have the better overall team now.Two tremendous running backs and a defense who can play with anyone.

What makes you so sure the Colts' run is over? Tony Dungy is a great coach, and he will be back for another year. Peyton Manning is still in his prime. He was #2 in all QBs last year in the NFL behind Tom Brady, who had one of the best seasons ever. Manning is still completing over 65% of his passes. Marvin Harrison is coming off injury, and who says he can't be as productive as he was two years ago? Don't tell me Harrison is their only receiver.

Anthony Gonzalez is becoming a prime slot receiver, Dallas Clark is looking more impressive each year at tight end, and Reggie Wayne led the team in receptions and yards. Wayne had a breakout year. So don't tell me they have no offense. Don't forget about one of the best O-lines in the NFL.

Now to the defense. Dwight Freeney will be healthy coming into this year. His return will be a huge boost. Gary Brackett led the defense with 116 tackles last year. Bob Sanders is becoming one of the top safeties in the league, with another great year last season.

This Colts team can still play. Though they are getting old, they don't look to drop off anytime this year. Maybe in a couple years they will decline.

I will never argue that Dungy is a great coach and I will never say Manning isnt great. But the Jags have the better team now.You have a qb who doesnt cost you games and the best 1-2 punch at rb.The defense can beat up any offense in this league including the Pats. The Colts will make the playoffs they just will not take the division. The jags have caught up and past them as the team to beat this year.

Don't forget about Joseph Addai. This year, he could move up to be a top 5 running back. Plus he is young, something the Colts need.

Anyways, you have given no reason as to how Indianapolis will slow down. They won the Super Bowl just 2 years ago. Remember?

Anything you say about Jacksonville can also be said about Indy. The Colts have a 1-2 punch at rb as well. Peyton Manning doesn't cost games either, does he? The fact is, Manning is much better than Garrard right now. Plus, Peyton has much better receivers at his disposal.

Feel free to peruse these power rankings of the year. Most have Indy at 2 behind the Pats.

The Jaguars had an outstanding year last year. They should do well this year. But they will not beat out Indianapolis for the division.

Forfeited Turn

You have made no argument concerning this. I have made mine.

I think it is quite possible that the Jags will win the South. It's been pretty obvious that I am a rabid Titans fan, but I definitely think the Jags could win it this year. However - I think any of the four teams in our division could win it. Texans winning it is less probable, and the Titans CAN do it (whether they will or not remains to be seen).

I do think the Colts reign is about over and that the Jags/Titans/Texans are all ready to unseat them as the kings of the AFC South. In a game between the Jags and Colts, I root for the Jags.

On the flip side - the Colts getting "older" might not be bad. That means fewer youngsters that have to struggle with the transition from NCAA to NFL. It means they know the playbook. It means they are more settled. SO..... whew - you just never can tell. I think the Peyton-knee issue is a bigger issue than is being portrayed. I think there are some DTs who are going to be going after that knee this year, and I'm not sure the Indy O-Line is up for it.

If Peyton gets hurt.... I don't expect Jim Sorgi to take them to the AFC Championship game. Marvin Harrison gets hurt - you got Reggie Wayne, Gonzales, Clark... but there is no viable replacement for Peyton Manning at this juncture. All their QB eggs are in the Manning basket.

Colts are still the team to beat and until they are stopped.. they are the team my pick for the division. Still loaded and a solid team next year.
