Young:2200 pass yards, 12 touchdowns
rushing:83 attempts, 552 yards, 6.7 yards per carry, 39 yards longest rush 7 touchdowns (tied with halfback Travis Henry for team lead in TDs)
Hester: nickname: the windy city flyer (for his speed) an all american in college 3 times named NFC specialists player of the weak, 20 kickoff returns (about 20 below average returner) 528 yards, 26.4 yards a return 96 longest return, 2 touchdowns also 600 punt return yards(league leader) and 3 touchdowns

While I agree with Hester, I have to disagree with Young.
Maurice Jones-Drew was better.
1377 yards rushing+receiving for 6.5 yards per touch.
Was third in the NFL in yards per kickoff return and had a return TD.
Had 13 rushing, 2 receiving, and 1 rushing, for 16 total TDs.
He in fact had more yards per kick return than Hester.
C.J.SpillerFatHeadPlz!!! said 06/30, 06:34 PM
he was a great player but i still say young was better. He turned his team around from losers to 8-8 and they will have at least 9 wins this seasons
Bio1590 said 06/30, 11:44 PM
The Titans won't even come close to winning 9 games.
Lost their star RB, their best playmaker (PACMAN), and their best WR.
Young has no weapons around him.
The Jaguars are in prime position to win their division. They have the best 2-Back system in the NFL and one of the best defenses. Judging by how they destoyed the Colts that one game I'm sure they can do it again.

MJD was great last year but he actually had teammates to help him turn the franchise. Vince Young didnt and he did the most important thing in a coaches mind
Bio1590 said 07/02, 09:57 PM
Vince Young had a 1200+ yard rusher to take the pressure off of him.
You STILL ignore the fact that MJD didn't have a good passing attack to keep the pressure off the rushing attack yet they STILL put up insane numbers.
HE WAS THE #2 RUNNING BACK. GET IT IN YOUR HEAD. #2's ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE 16 TDs and ALMOST 1000 RUSHING YARDS.

Report Offensive Comment. . .Because everyone's on VY's jock including EA.
VY also fumbled 12 times, compared to MJD's 1.
And VY also barely completed 50% of his passes and threw more INTs than TDs.

Report Offensive CommentAnd Drew contributed all year long. The NFl just likes to make QBs the ROY whenever they can, even if it is a reach to do so.

Report Offensive CommentDrew set the record for most combined yards in a game by a rookie. He had 303 All-Purpose yards against Indy.

Report Offensive CommentAs usual, no love for the big guys. Mangold stepped right in at center and led the Jets to the playoffs.
Devin Hester is a great kick returner, but he couldn't touch MJD or Bush for overall production.
As to VY, the most important stat is in the win column and the botttom line is he just wins baby.

Report Offensive CommentI find it funny that Hester had only 3 less TDs than Bush on 0 offensive touches.

Report Offensive CommentI can't believe nobody has mentioned Marcus McNeill, left tackle for the Chargers. He paved the way for LT on the left side last year.

Report Offensive Commenteveryone knows that RB is THE EASIEST position for rookies, and QB is the hardest. I'm happy for Drew, but there's a reason VY was rookie of the year, and the first rookie QB pro bowler since Dan Marino...Because he was the BEST and will be the best qb in the league very soon. Now if Tenn will ever spend some money, maybe the team will actually contend again.

Report Offensive CommentWhat other rookie was close to SCORING 16 TDs?
MJD had more TDs than any rookie(by a margin of 7).
He had the highest ypc last year for ANY RB with over 100 carries.
He had a higher yards per rec than Bush. He also had as many rec TDs as Bush while getting half the recs.
2nd in rookie rushing yards(while getting 60 less carries than addai-who had the help of peyton manning)
3rd in the NFL in kick returns
Tied for 3rd in scoring.
mikeyfarley | 06/30/07, 01:10 AM
Report Offensive CommentOn top of everything MJD did he wasn't even supposed to split time at RB his rookie year. He got a combined 4 carries his 1st 2 games. He still ended up out rushing Maroney and Bush. Getting more rec yards than addai and Maroney.
mikeyfarley | 06/30/07, 01:17 AM
Report Offensive CommentAlthough MJD got to play the Colts twice, and that'll pad anyones stats.
