The Hawks could have made a better move with the 3rd pick in the NBA Draft

Why would they take ANOTHER foward? They already have Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Shelden Williams, Zaza Pachulia, and Lorenzen Wright. Why do they need Al Horford? They need a point guard and the best one in the draft fell right into their lap. Why not take Mike Conley Jr.?


First of all Wright and Pachulia are centers not forwards and second they did a fantastic job in the first round getting the most nba ready player other then Oden and Durant in the top 2. and at 11 they filled their need with a PG like A.C. Law IV. and for them taking Conley??? hes been playing with oden all of his life and Atlanta doesnt have someone like oden!!!


That's not the point. When I threw in Pachulia and Wright the point I was making is that they take a big man every year. And while you do need some good big men in order to win you dont need ALL big men. You've got to have a point guard that can spread the ball around and make his teammates better. They could have had that in Conley.


If they drafted conley over horford they would have no depth at the PF/C positions with Wright,Pachulia,S.Williams!!! M.Williams is not a PF because he has no body like durant and they both should play SF.They allready have Lue,Claxton,Johnson! Why do they need another PG. I now its a huge need but they should just stick with 1 PG and not switch starters every other weed! Horford was a better pick!


I know M. Williams is not a true PF but that's where he plays. I agree that he should go to SF though. And please Lue and Claxton? Theyre not great point guards! Theyre career backups, that is until they landed in a place like ATL. And Johnson is no PG, he's a swingman, a 2, a SG. Picture this lineup. Conley, Jr., Johnson, Williams, Smith, Williams. That's not a terrible team and in the East anything can happen! They definitely should have gone w/ Conley Jr.


i dont think williams should be starting right away cuz he needs some time to improve as for horford .... i think he could start right away for the hawks! hey... Fisher is a free agent.... maybe they could pick him up?!?! imagine this

I don't like the Horford pick. He is not going to get any better then he is now, that is just another way of saying NBA ready. He has no upside you know what you are going to get from him.

That isnt nessecarily bad either. That means your not getting a bust, and he could potentially be a 20-10 guy.

The Hawks keep drafting big men because nobody they draft pans out. Horford will be better than all but one of their forwards (Smith). Hawks did the best possible draft they could have.
