#1 - Sex sells. This is a tried and true fact. More exposure of the cheerleaders is an absolute must if the NFL wishes to become a viable global commodity. Instead of focusing so many shots of T-Fo's worn out mom and Porkins topless belly, the NFL MUST give more camera time to the girls who make the trip worth your while even if the home team loses. A cheer girl 'accidentally' forgetting to wear panties or allowing her top to run up higher than it should from time to time wouldn't hurt either. Remember the Janet Jackson thing? The fine was WELL worth it considering the amount of free publicity it received. Imagine the ratings if people (Read: Men and Roy) tuned in just to see if someone lost their clothes...
#2 Sex sells part Deux. Make it a part of every players contract that he must participate in a calendar shoot. Despite popular belief, women like to look at men just as much as men like to look at women...maybe more. If you want to bring in the women demographic as well as the global demo, put the players out there in bikini shorts and nothing else.
Ever seen women at a bachelorette party? They go nuts. Bring 'em into the fold with animal instincts.

In Europe, the most likely spot for football to expand, they have nude commercials and shows. You really think the possibility of seeing a nipple will make them watch?
"Make it a part of every players contract that he must participate in a calendar shoot...put the players out there in bikini shorts and nothing else"
EVERY player? So, you want to parade a 350 pound DL, like Shaun Rogers, around in only a banana hammock? Pitt gets the same amount of arousal when he goes to a HUMAN strip club that women would have to this, NONE.
The NFL needs to:
1. Add flexibility to the Sunday/Monday night lineups.
- How many times have you seen a Sunday/Monday night prime time game between 2 bottom dwellers? These games provide no excitement. The NFL should allow certain games of top contenders, or rivals, to be picked a few weeks in advance to be showed on these nights.
2. Stagger game start times on Sunday afternoon.
- Do we really need 8-10 games ALL starting at 1pm EST? Stagger the start times of both early and late games, but with nothing starting after 5pm to interfere with the night game. This has proven very effective for NCAA basketball tournament and its ratings.

The NFL tried Europe already, it went over like a Cassidy one liner...lead balloon.
The most obvious place to expand globally is Asia. The population centers are HUGE. In Japan a woman can't get onto a subway without being groped by dozens of men, even their pornography is censored with a blur over sensitive areas...you think these people wouldn't eat up the pretty American cheerleaders?
Obviously the lineman calendar would be a very special demographic and not nearly the gist of what I was proposing. The hard bodied skill position players showing some skin is what will appeal to the masses of women out there who lust after mens bodies but aren't nearly as vocal about it as us pigs...uh...guys are.
This would draw women to the NFL the way alters are drawn to a Cassidy TD. As long as they profess it's about being a football fan, they can justify having the half nude pictures around.
Your #1 is already done on a limited scale with flex scheduling. It would never work with Monday night games, however.
I see no real purpose in your #2. The VAST majority of people only have access to no more than 2 games at a time anyhow.

"It would never work with Monday night games however"
Monday nights provide a unique situation with short weeks. It would still work if games were picked a few weeks in advance and teams were given the opportunity to prepare. Monday night games need to be marquis games, and there is no way to know what these will be until the season is underway.
"The VAST majority of people only have access to no more than 2 games at a time anyhow."
Staggered starts would provide viewers to see more than JUST the 1 or 2 games that are available locally. It also would provide more of a boost for subscribers to NFL ticket packages.
"even their pornography is censored with a blur over sensitive areas"
If things are THAT censored in Asia, do you really think that they would allow anything like the Janet Jackson Super Bowl fiasco to actually air? They won't be getting games live, so Asian censors would be all over things like that. And how many shots of cheerleaders do we actually see during a game anyway? 2 or 3 tops?
"The NFL tried Europe already, it went over like a Cassidy one liner"
If that is true, then why do they STILL hold pre and regular season games there?

A few weeks in advance? From a network standpoint, pre-production for a MNF game begins MONTHS in advance. From a team standpoint it would be a logistical nightmare. The planning for airline tickets, hotel rooms, equipment shipping, etc. happens far earlier than a few weeks in advance. From a fans standpoint, how happy would you be if you bought tix to a Monday night game only to have it flexed back to Sunday at 1pm?
There is simply no way it would work with such short notice.
Staggered starts are useless for purposes of this TD. As you noted above, these games won't be shown live abroad anyhow. They can be tape delayed for whatever time the local area wants/needs.
Yes, currently we only get a couple of shots of the Cheerleaders...that's my whole point. More cheerleaders and less Joe Six pack and his face paint, which only serves to make people more nauseous than looking at the play by play of a Cassidy TD.
The difference between airing cheerleaders and soft core **** is larger than the revenue loss an all you can eat buffet takes after Porkins visits.
They still play games in Europe because 1 or 2 games sells..a full season does not.

"Staggered starts are useless for purposes of this TD."
Title of the TD is "2 things the NFL should do to improve image, ratings, & worldwide appeal." This is not JUST about boosting world wide appeal, it is also about improving the image and the ratings here in the US. You chose to take the world wide appeal, and I chose the at home fixes.
"From a team standpoint it would be a logistical nightmare."
Teams and equipment do not fly in the day of the game. They are there for days before the game. One extra or less day in the town they are playing in would not screw up logistics as much as you insinuate.
"Yes, currently we only get a couple of shots of the Cheerleaders...that's my whole point."
I'm not sure you could handle anymore shots of women. You practically blow a load when RedSoxBabe enters a thread. So for your underwear's sake, I hope there are no more Super Bowl incidents.
"They still play games in Europe because 1 or 2 games sells..a full season does not."
I hope you are not comparing televised NFL games to the flopped NFL Europe. Which stunk worse than Bigalke after he squats on your couch for 4 days after a bad acid trip.
