A complete viewing abortion that has me setting remote-control speed records switiching over to Spongebob Squarepants or The View or whatever the hell else I can click onto at random. (Opposing viewpoint or Insult One-Upmanship both welcome. )

It is something that is absolutely unintriging, but if you would rather watch Spongebob or the View than a feature that actually has something to do with the biggest names in sports how can you call yourself a sports fan?

Ah-Posing view ! You have gall, sir. It's not merely the sad misappropriation of famous names for their "regions" (Ali,Jordan and so on) or their complete disregard of knowing Who, precisely, they are commenting on (Keyshawn Johnson, and I quote, "Who's the Flying Tomato ?), but their MTV-graphics, breathy female voiceover mentioning possible liasons with Hollywood celebu-tards, and, of course, the indecipherable Stuart Scott, host of "Dream Job" and "Stump the Schwab". Really, need I say more ?

Not really. The segment is only slightly interesting at best, but let's not lose it here. It is not an hour or even half hour broadcast on the ESPN airways, it is a short little segment on Sportscenter. I care little about it, but I am not about to start watching the view instead.

Ouch! I'm getting reamed. I thought this one was a slam-dunk. Oh well.
I'll just sum up by saying "Who's Now" is brutally bad, "Big Brother"-style filler. It's not sports; it's not even sports commentary. It's the lowest form of IQ-impaired blather that insults more than it entertains, and, yes, I'd rather watch Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell trade hysterics than this stuff. (Truthfully, I usually switch to Spongebob)

Of course it is a filler, but let's not get out of hand about it. I dislike the segment as well, but it is neither he bane of the earth nor does it make me cringe. I just have questions raised about you when you state that a five minute segment is a viewing abortion, but Spongebob and the View are watchable.

The View??? Spongebob rocks (except the new episodes), but The View?

I don't love the Who's Now concept, but I think the graphics and animations are pretty awesome. I like when the guy is walking through the portals and then he presses the button, and the whole place lights up. Pretty sweet intro, if you ask me.

I'm with Usurp on this one - this is one of the worst segments on television. I'm already sick of all these fake contest reality shows - now my one refuge from all that crap has embraced it just the same?!?! You never get any analysis of substance during "Who's Now". What the F** does "Who's Now" even mean? If they called it "Greatest Athlete of our Time" at least that makes sense. Thanks for nothing, ESPN.

It is too "People Magazine" for my taste. Just show me more highlights.

"View" comment aside.... "Who's Now" is horrible. It's kind like taking all the weak throwdowns on this site (you know, the ones where the questions are ridiculous like, "Steve Nash is a better athlete than Barbaro") and putting them together into a tv segment/internet campaign. Like these throwdowns, most people aren't voting based on any criteria other than, "I've heard of/like this athlete better than this one." Stu Scott tried to give Steve Nash points for being linked romantically to Elizabeth Hurley... bizarre.

I'm kind of guilty of the same shallow voting though since Usurp Toe had me at "viewing abortion".
