After last night's game, and Tebow's performance over the past two years, it's hard to argue that any other QB since Peyton Manning comes close to Tebow. He not only has the arm, he also runs the ball and plays with such fire that he can elevate the play of his teammates.

The only QB who jumps to mind to challenge Tebow might be Matt Leinert. But talent-wise, Tebow has the better arm strength and plays smarter.

Vince Young

Young was a hell of a talent, and thanks for correcting me in that Young was better than Leinert. But the argument is the BEST qb since Peyton, not the second best.

Young had one great year. Tebow has already had two and probably will have one more at Florida with a very good chance at a 3rd national title.

Young won a game most people said he had no business playing in. People were labeling USC as the greatest college football team ever and to run all over Texas. I remember actual college analysts (guys who get paid for it) predicted Texas to lose by more than 20. I know its only one game but its the defining game of VY and VY was a better runner than Tebow.

One game does not make a college career. As I said before Young had a great year, but Tebow has had two great years, probably will have a third. Since I don't have access to the stats on the two players I can't really say if Young's stats exceed Tebow's but I suspect Tebow's completion percentage is better.

And I agree Young was a better runner, but running isn't a qb's main job. Tebow can thread passes through defenders as well as anyone.

Tebow is a great player but you already admitted that VY is the better runner and Tebow has had a much better team around him. VY carried Texas on his shoulders to defeat USC in a gigantic upset.

False

Chris Weinke was pretty good.

January 9, 2009  04:07 PM ET

Pat White, he was 4-0 in bowl games.

False, these are just a couple of QB's that are better then Teabag. Payton Manning, VY, Ken Dorsey, Eric Crouch, Sam Bradford, etc....

Manning could not win the big game in collge, He is not a good player to comapre Tebow with. I am not sure either one gets my vote. The topic really makes no sense for a arguement.

What did Manning accomplish in college? How many championships and Heismans did Payton win?

January 9, 2009  04:10 PM ET

After thinking it over I think I will give my vote to Eater just because of that great picture!

Out of the choices above, I think I'm going right.

Must have been drinking the Kool-Aid with the annoncers last night. Matt Leinart alone kills your argument. 39-2 as a college starter. Sick stats.

January 9, 2009  04:15 PM ET

Tebag is way overrated!!!!!!

January 9, 2009  04:16 PM ET

Not to mention Vick, who also managed to only lose 2 games during his career as well i believe and played the same style as Tebow (running QB). Only Vick did it with less offensive talent around him.

January 9, 2009  04:17 PM ET

Pat White, Chris Weinke? You have got to be kidding.

January 9, 2009  04:18 PM ET

tebow humms on nuts. he will wash out in no more than 3 years in the nfl. He can scream on the sidelines all he wants, he is gay

The title is a false statement, because there have been plety of better college QB's than Manning since Manning was at Tennessee. Manning never won the Heisman or a National Championship, though Tennessee DID win it all the year after. Manning is a much better pro than a college QB. Young and Leinart come to mind immediately as better. Tebow is a better college QB than Manning as well.

There is no valid argument that can be made to prove your point on the left.

January 9, 2009  04:22 PM ET

Ken Dorsey went 38-2 as well.

I'm gonna vote right just because I like to eat cantaloupe too. Other than that, both arguments are awful.
