Joe Montana no doubt. that guy was extremely accurate and could win.
either him or johnny Unitas

Joe Montana was a great qb but i dont think one can say he was the best of all-time. What about Dan Marino. Yes i know he could never win a ring but championships are team accomplishments not a factor when talking about individual greatness. Lets just compare Marino and Montana's stats
Marino/Montana
Games: 242/192
Completion %: 59.4/ 63.2
Yards: 61,361/ 40,551
TDs: 420/ 273
Ints: 252/ 139
Yes Marino played 50 more games but the numbers show that Marino was the better QB. Lets just look at some career bests.
Marino-64.2 comp. %; 5,084 yards; 48 TDs
Montana-70.2 comp. %; 3,944 yards; 31 TDs

Also John Elway was a great quarterback who some could argue as the best all-time. I see Elway, Montana, and Marino as the best 3 QBs off all-time but Montana is not the best all-time i would have to go with Marino as the best qb off all-time.

July 7, 2007  07:57 PM ET

Whatever you do, do NOT bring up Marino's lack of Super Bowl rings. DO NOT. I'm so sick of that argument.

July 7, 2007  07:58 PM ET

yea seriously the arguement is the better qb not better winner

July 7, 2007  08:02 PM ET

Manning's going to be the best by the time he retires, and he DOES have a ring, so that's that.
