The Daytona 500 is the World's best race, not the Indy 500.

Daytona has so many memorable moments, not that Indy doesn't. But Nascar has passed Indy and the races are a lot more entertaining. In Nascar, you see big packs of 20 or more cars three or four wide. In Indy cars, the drivers can't even think about doing that. They run too fast and can't even take a bump. Also, the Nascars can bump each other around without killing each other or wrecking each other every time. Daytona is much better than Indy.

Dont make me laugh all they do is go around in circles, What about any one of the fantastic races in Formula 1? So many great and different tracks, You can even have CORNERS... WoW!!!

Yeah, crashes are great, but almost every race is close at the end. In NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow races, every one of them have come right down to the end. And in F1, you really have no strategy involved because you can't get a good draft or try to bump a guy just enough so he will be out of the way. In IRL, you can't bump draft, unless you want someone killed. To me the pit road strategy isn't near as good either, so the Daytona 500 and all of NASCAR is better than the Indy 500 and all of IRL.

Crashes arnt great... Example of what annoys me about the sport: A racer goes around and around the oval track leading all the way for 99 laps, Nearing the end some B*STARD after drafting the leader in his brick shaped car does a blatant P.I.T manouver and spins him out, Then that same C*NT rolls over the line for the easy win acting like hes a G!
NASCAR isnt a sport of champions its a sport for noob cheaters.
If you want crashes just go and watch MONSTER trucks.

I have never seen a PIT manuever used in NASCAR. They actually can get behibd a car and get them "loose". You can't do that with an IRL or F1 car, they have some strategy going. Not every NASCAR driver wrecks the leader at the end of the race. Hey, if the leader doesn't want to get bumped, then go faster and don't let them catch up to him. NASCAR is where the best drivers are. IRL has a few (very few good drivers like NASCAR) good drivers. Look at Juan Pablo Montoya:
He came to NASCAR so could be with the best drivers.

NASCAR is holding back the whole of motorsports and the entire automotive industry in America!
I cant think of an American driver that has won any serious world title, And the main reason why... Because American cars are only built and designed for streight line speed also the tracks are inferior and dont give designers an incentive to take a bold new direction.
Ill NEVER see an American in my lifetime with the skill to win a World Rally Championship.. and thats sad.

Report Offensive CommentI just think that the F1 Monaco GP/Le Mans/And absolutely any Moto GP race would be more exciting than watching a bunch of un-aerodynamic V8's go round in circles again and again and again and AGAIN! If it wasnt for the crashes or something 'Going wrong with the pit crew' Id probably go to sleep!
Id love to see a Chevrolet trying to go around the track at Monaco though! LMFAO. : L

Report Offensive CommentJust about the only argument against the D500 could be made for the Indy500. There are many great races in NASCAR. The Coke600, any race at Bristol, the Brickyard400, the Busch race at IRP (god I wish Cup raced there), the old Southern 500 at Darlington, etc.
Other series have the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Grand Prix of Monaco (the only F1 race that has the gravitas of the D500 or Indy), and, well, that's it.
Given the options argued for in this TD, its Daytona hands down. And if anyone doubts that, watch the replay from the end of the Pepsi 400 at Daytona tonight.

how about some swimming races where almost every race is won by 100ths of a second? but if yu insist on cars...how about the Soap Box Derby...lol

Report Offensive Commenti agree with island. i'm sorry, NASCAR is soooo boring, watching BORING looking cars go around a track with no right turns 500 times, WOW, sounds like fun. NOT. And the outcome of the races are CHANCE, i have more fun watching POKER on tv. there is no skill involved in this type of racing what-so-ever, maybe just a tiny bit of "strategy", if you can even call it that. Indi racing is by far, hands down, without a doubt a far more entertaing race to wacth, the cars are much more interesting to look at, there are both left AND right hand turns, and varying degrees of turns as well. The drivers have to be far more skilling and there is definately WAY more history in it that NASCAR.

Report Offensive CommentLets be honest Le Mans has the best cars... Totally new Concept models AND your regular smattering of Porsches and Ferraris etc, (All models) Its essentially 2 races in 1, It also lasts 24 hours AND it has a cool track!
Id have to say Le Mans is the WORLDS best race by far.
