Portland made a mistake in the draft.

Instead of Greg Oden, the Portland Trailblazers should have taken Kevin Durant as the first pick of the NBA Draft. He is a better all-around player than Oden and can also lead a team better. Portland would have done better with Durant.

Although durant might be a better "overall" player u never can pass on a legit dominant big guy. Big guys are the ones that bring u rings. Oden is a force on offence and a monster a defence, he will throw the ball down or use his little hook with either hand on offence while swatting and altering shots in the paint every game. It is def no mistake to take a 7'0 true center those really dont come a long too often while guards come around all the time im not saying with durants talent but their around

Well Portland hasn't done any better with the other big guys they had. I think an all- around player (like Michael Jordan) would win more rings alone than a giant (Yao Ming and Dirk Nowitski). Durant can do the stuff inside but whats gonna happen with Portland's outside game? I'm not sayin Durant would win rings, because Portland isn't the best team ever, I'm just sayin Durant would win more games than Oden will for the Trailblazers.

Durant could end up like McGrady... a player who can do a lot, but doesn't get anywhere...
At worst, Oden is another Alonzo Mourning... who in his prime was an awesome defensive stopper and a game changer.

Then again, at best, Durant could be amazing.

This is an throwdown of high risk/high reward vs low risk/decent reward

The only reason I voted for cheezhead was because I liked this line right here...

"Well Portland hasn't done any better with the other big guys they had. I think an all- around player (like Michael Jordan) would win more rings alone than a giant (Yao Ming and Dirk Nowitski). "

No, at worst Oden could be another guy who was a first pick, Michael Olowokandi.

portland made the right descision. its not every year that a big man like oden comes into the draft

July 10, 2007  05:37 PM ET

But we all know that Oden is no Olowokandi...

Yep..They should have taken Durant, not have traded Zach Randolph and sign a PG.

Already comparing Durant with Jordan is a little rushed don't you think?
