1. Greg Maddux
2. Roger Clemens
3. Randy Johnson
4. Tom Glavine
5. Pedro Martinez


I don't want to be accused of not following the rules, so I'll just make my list first and not make any comments. I would hate to lose votes because I made a comment instead of just putting out my list first. I mean, rules are rules. If we didn't have rules what would we have? You guessed it, anarchy. And I do not want to be accused of starting anarchy on FanNation. Because if that happened, what would become of Red Hat?

So, instead of making pithy comments, I'll just throw up my list

1. Randy Johnson
2. John Smoltz
3. Dennis Eckersley
4. Mariano Rivera
5. Pedro Martinez


I misplaced my rulebook sorry.

Maddux has to be number one to be even taken seriously in this.

Him and Clemens are very close overall, but that's because of Clemens' 80s and 2000s performance. Maddux is the clear #1 for the 90s.

Tom Glavine and
Pedro Martinez fit very well for me rounding out the 3,4 and 5 spot.

No way Clemens belongs on that list. Not only are his stats roid induced, be he's the 3rd biggest horse's ass south of the North Pole.

I can't argue with Randy Johnson because he was quite the dominatrix, I mean very dominating. Plus he's bigger than me and would probably kick my butt if I did argue with him.

I guess we agree with Pedro Martinez. I mean how could he not be in the top 5? Everyone wanted to vote for him so he must be popular.

How dare you accuse me of not taking this throwdown seriously. Just because you think Maddux is number 1 that doesn't mean right thinking people all over the world have to think he's number 1. Therefore, he can very clearly NOT be the number 1. Nor can he very clearly not be number 2. You fell victim to one of the classic blunders:

The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a dog when a throwdown is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha....


I'm not accusing you of anything..it's an open and shut case for Maddox at #1 and you clearly don't follow the game of baseball as closely and lovingly as i do.

No need to get all ticked off..simmer down.

I mean you don't even have Maddox in your top 5..big mistake.


I see what you're doing now. It's all came clear when you did your 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 countdown. What the heck was that by the way? Is a big boobed hooker named Mollie Mouse gonna jump out of a cake?

Anyway, it is very clear what you are trying to do mister and I'm not going to fall for it. You see, if I had put Maddux as my number 1 then you would have accused me of merely copying your list. You would have went one step further and accused me of copying what I found on Google. had to leave off Maddux so we could generate a lively and healthy debate even if that cost me a few votes. Unlike you who just wanted to go with the majority opinion and get votes based on making the "right" picks. You should lose votes for even thinking about Clemens.

You should lose votes for no Rivera. The best closer in the 90s. But I clearly included him because I did more research than you and I have a way more better understanding of baseball. Know what the game means to me?

Smoltz was awesome in the 90s, and turned it up a notch in the playoffs.
