I think Kobayashi will take back the crown from Chestnut. Chestnut's form is embarrassing. Kobyaashi has always been and always will be a beast. The kid just knows how to eat. I think he will come back with a vengance and beat Chestnut by 5 dogs. His method is much better and he does not just throw them in his mouth until its full. Chestnut is great at what he does I just do not think it will work this year.
Expect Kobayashi to reclaim his crown.

Sports are defined as an activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a COMPETITIVE nature. Competitive eating fits in there. It is not my fault you can not argue this, you should not have accepted the TD.

There is nothing like a bunch of D & D, Star Wars nerds who couldn't hack it in the big leauge of any real sport slobbering over frankfurters and beer. That's what I want. To end my life with a heart the size of whales vag.
How cool is that?

The chances of any of you eating over 20 hot dogs are slim to none. For any of you that think you can do this is ridiculous. And about it being all fat slobs, are you telling me your in better shape than Kobayashi or Chestnut? These people are not slobs they are competitors and the top in what they have trained for. If any of you had a problem with this TD maybe you should have ignored it.

Competitive Eaters put their body through more physical training than a poker player or a bowler.
I would definitely consider them an athlete more so than players in other sports. Kind of in the same way that a sumo wrestler is considered an athlete.
Did you ever see Kobayashi? That guy can consume 7500+ calories in a single sitting yet he weighs less than 160lbs. That little guy is ripped from all the calorie burning exercises he endures.

The new guy with 5 votes on a non-sport TD. I'm amazed....actually, I'm not at all.
Who cares about a japanese guy that eats like Oprah after a fast and a bunch of lard asses backwashing half chewed dog and bun in their Budweiser?
Sounds like Frank's family reunion

Eating contests are to sport what Rock Band is to playing instruments. If being obese and over eating is athletic, then Golden Corral is full of athletes.

But, some dork is going to come back at me with how thin the guys are that eat the most...however, I've seen shows on Discovery about dudes that weight close to a grand and they eat a banquet table full of food and something like 50,000 calories a day. So thin World of Warcraft guy doens't stand a chance against Fatty Arbuckle.

I would like to watch those people come out and try and eat as fast as these guys do. 50 hot dogs in 10 minutes? You could not do 50 hot dogs in a day

I don't think you grasp how many years of training these people go through to stretch their stomach.
You don't sit down at a table one day and go on to eat 50 hot dogs. William Refrigerator Perry made that mistake once. He figured he was a fat guy so why not enter the contest? He couldn't get past his FOURTH hot dog.
Despite popular opinion, physical girth has nothing to do with how much food you can consume.
Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas is a 100lb woman. She ate 37 hot dogs in 12 minutes.

So I could not have just been looking at arguments right? I had to make an account right when I looked at this site? Your telling me that since I am "new" I can't say obvious things like you accepting and then complaining about it. I did not ask your opinion on whether it was a sport or not.
