I say the New Orleans Saints.

Their picks and stats-

Reggie Bush-RB: 88 rec. 12 total TD

Roman Harper-S: 5 games 24 tackles

Jahri Evans-G:16 games started. named to 1st team all-rookie in SI

Rob Ninkovich- DE: 3 games 2 tackles

Mike Hass- WR: Is on Bears practice squad

Josh (Benard) Lay- CB: Is on Rams practice squad

Zach Strief- OT: Played 9 games. Started 1

Marques Colston-WR: 70 rec 1088 yards 8 TDs.

Lets see your team's whole draft and than compare

Da Bears-

Devin Hester-6 total returns for TDs, including the opening kickoff of the SB. 2nd with 600 yards in punt returns (12.8 average), 5th in kickoffs (26.4), 3rd player in NFL history to return at least 2 punts for TDs of 80 yards or more, elected to pro bowl, tied NFL record with 106 yard return for TD (Vasher) and was the most exciting player to watch with the ball in his hands!

Daniel Manning- 14 total starts, 16 games played at free safety with 63 tackles and 2 INTs. Plus, played some CB covering the slot WR.

Mark Anderson- played in 16 games, had 28 tackles and a whopping 12 sacks in limited playing time. Achieved the 4th highest sack total for a rookie in NFL history.

Jamar Williams- injured in training camp last year, is slated to start at WLB if Briggs doesn't sign his franchise tender offer. will compete for SAM spot with Hillemayer if Briggs plays. he's very rangy, great instincts, fast, and can fly from sideline to sideline.

Dusty Dvoracek- also injured in training camp, currently practicing with the 1st defense and showed promise until his injury last year. will start in place of Tank Johnson.

Tyler Reed- was placed on the practice squad las

Forgot about them. I'm not talking about potenial. i meant that one year. Kick Returners don't affect the game as much as Receivers, RBs, and O-line do. The Saints had the number 1 and number 2 players for receptions for rookies. Jahri Evans Look at the record change. They were better by 7 games in one season. The Saints rookies helped more. The offense was number 5 in points scored, number 1 in YPG. number 1 in passing YPG. mainly b/c of the rookie trio that helped Brees. The year before, (continued in my comment)

Well Hester practically won two games by himself and changed countless others with his speed, knack to find the opening and scoring. Anderson had a huge impact in a limited role. Offensive tackles new what he was going to do and he still ran past them. Barring injury, Dvoracek will start and make an impact this year. He has the skills, quickness, and the mean streak to play in the one-gap system. Williams will play a significant role no matter what Briggs does. Word has it he might beat out Hillemeyer anyways. I don't know how many times Manning saved a potential TD with his flat-out speed. They had plenty of impact. I count 5 impact players for the Bears and 3 for the Saints.

you count 2 guys that has never played as an impact player? please. How can they be impact player if they never suited up? If you count those as impact than all the Saints players who took 1 snap are impact which isnt true. It is really 3 vs. 3 in impact players. Reggie Bush changed more games than Hester. Bush won the 49ers game by himself. If he isnt scoring, he is getting doubled-teamed and taking pressure someone else. If you double Bush, what are you going to do with Colston? They made Brees look the best in his career

I meant Jamar Williams and Dvorcek will be impact players this year. The other players the Saints are in danger of not even making the team! At least the aformentioned players are going to start. I would consider them to have much more talent than two guys on the practive squad (one on the Bears!) and the three other with little or no contribution last year. I don't think Colston made Brees look good, Brees made the rookie look good. Brees is the main reason why Colston is good. In all fairness I forgot to mention J.D. Runnels, the Bears 6th round draft pick last year. He hasn't been able to stay healthy and got hurt in OTAs this summer.

Not that I care to do the research, but the Chargers come to mind as a team that could compete.

July 14, 2007  01:21 AM ET

Cleveland probably did the most with the least; The most 'best' players available at positions of need.

July 14, 2007  01:21 AM ET

o you said 2006 lol

July 14, 2007  01:31 AM ET

i thought about accepting this one.....i sincerely think the bears draft was better, but doubted that anyone would vote against Reggie Bush.

July 14, 2007  01:37 AM ET

its new orleans... when you pick up reggie bush and marques colston in the same draft, that is one damn good year.

July 14, 2007  01:59 AM ET

This is a tough thing for me to rate. I say that because the teams that traditionally draft the best, have the most depth- hence most draft picks don't get any real playing time for years. Look at teams like New England, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Indy and Baltimore- their 1st round picks are usually starters, but almost everybody else picked doesn't get playing time for a few years.

July 14, 2007  02:03 AM ET

dude the bears have had really good drafts the last three years if you look at it they get killer players in the late rounds and saints did have a good draft with colston and bush but bears was better considering they didnt have a pick until the 2nd round. and still got 3 to 4 star players.

July 14, 2007  02:03 AM ET

Bush was a given and fell into New Orleans lap- this was a pick they HAD to make. jahri evans was a great pick. Colston was a great pick- BUT the Saints picked 2 guys that busted out and 3 others that got limited playing time. Where as the Bears got 5 starters from one draft- 3 who are great... i gotta pick the Bears on this one...

July 14, 2007  02:09 AM ET

I'm going to have to vote for playangryfan because a) i'm a bears fan. and b) the bears destroyed the saints in the NFC Championship game and the draftees had a lot to do with that.. The Bears had 3 key guys, 1 starter, 1 very important backup and one who became the best kick returner in the league. The rest are poised to get some playing time this season and are good prospects but suffered because of injury. Whereas on the Saints you've got reggie bush, but thats it marques colston proved good but he let a big fumble go in the NFC Championship game. and the rest ive quite frankly never heard of them.

The Bears have done well in the draft the past few years, that I will agree with. It all started with hiring Angelo (who I think is one of the best GM's in football and topped off with hiring Lovie) But they do not have the VERY long draft resumes the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Eagles, and Pats have. The Bears will follow the same path as the 5 teams i listed, in a few years. They will have a ton of depth built up, from drafting well in numerous successive years- which leads to the picks you make now being with the team longer before they get substantial playing time. Quite simply, for me to rate a draft it takes 3 full seasons to properly gauge success or failure.

July 14, 2007  03:20 AM ET

Mike: Uhh didn't you just tell me the other night the Bears lack depth and will fall off on Defense. If you think they will follow the path of the teams you listed they should probably play some good D ( other than the Colts). But I agree it takes at least three years to judge a draft or a GM. Which is why I think Holmgren got the raw deal in Seattle. He built that team up to a contender on the new GM gets the credit.

July 14, 2007  11:46 AM ET

Maybe the Colts!

July 14, 2007  02:58 PM ET

All those teams mentioned had great drafts, but I argued the Bears cause i know them and i believe better overall than the Saints. Obviously, Bush was the best pick but look at all the other players compared to the Bears. 3 impact players to 2 for the Saints, and Bears had better quality depth.

July 14, 2007  04:28 PM ET

The year before, the Saints were 20th in YPG, and 14th in passing YPG. And heres the biggest difference. In, 2006 the Saints were 5th in scoring like i already said, the year before they wre 31st in the league. Only Cleveland scored 3 less points. I don't see Chicago having that big of an impact. they had 1 no doubt about it tho

July 14, 2007  04:29 PM ET

the Saints had 3 impact players BTW not two. Jahri Evans started all 16

July 14, 2007  04:46 PM ET

sorry about that, thanks for the correction. it should be 5 this year for the Bears.

July 14, 2007  06:54 PM ET

Buckybadger- I never said anything about depth- go back and read my comments. I simply stated with the Bears losing 2 of the 3 DT's that got the most playing time, and with the possible hold out of Briggs combined with the MUCH tougher schedule, their D would not be a top 5 unit this year. Might Dvoracek and WIlliams be suitable replacements? Maybe, we have no idea- neither have ever played a single game in the NFL. I've blogged about it, and always held strong to my opinion, and NEVER once have I said anything about depth....

July 14, 2007  07:04 PM ET

Umm...Ian Scott and Alfonso Boone didn't get the majority of playing time last year. They played so much at the end cause of the injury to Harris and suspension of Tank. Boone is 31 year old...who cares about him, he was worthless. He had 1 tackle in the entire SB! Scott doesn't fit the scheme very well, but will probably be decent with whatever team signed him. Those guys didn't see the field much when Tank and Tommie were in there.

July 14, 2007  07:12 PM ET

5 my ****. Than Streif and Harper are also. Ninkovich has potenial. What about him? If is after 1 year not the career. I want to know who had the best draft after 1 season. Right now. Not the future. b/c the Saints would easily win

July 14, 2007  07:20 PM ET

What do they say? You can't grade a draft until 3 years later. I'm pretty sure that's common knowledge.
