No Contest!!!

ok the only one you really have a shot at winning in this TD is Baseball and you didn't even use one of the top 5 or 6 movies you should have used...

The Natural, Field of Dreams, A League of their Own, and Major League. I used the Bad News Bears to at least give you a fighting chance.

Your Hockey choices are a joke, so let's use Mystery Alaska instead. However Slap Shot and Miracle are classic of the sports entertainment world. SlapShot is one of the funniest movies ever and Miracle is the story of one of the greatest moments in U.S. Sports History.

Football - Come on man, you couldn't use Remember the Titans or Brian's Song, even The Replacements would have been a better choice.

Basketball - Hoosiers just like SlapShot is one of the greatest sports movies of all time and I'll give you a tie on Semi-Pro vs Hoop Dreams just cause Semi-Pro was really funny. Serious vs Comedy.

Honestly I don't see how you have any chance with the movies you have selected.

You have no respect at all for the movies I selected?

SPACE JAM!!!

MJ was the star in this movie. MJ = better than your movies

Waterboy!!!

Adam Sandler was like Terry Tate the office Linebacker but funnier. Plus he does not need all the sugars and electrolytes in Gatorade to steam role QBs.

Angels in the Outfield!!!

I feel like i should not have to explain this one... I mean they had angels helping them.

The Mighty Ducks!!!

How often as a kid when playing hockey did you talk about and try to do the Flying V?

You trash my picks but you are the one who is mistaken... they are great movies!!!

OK I'm done. I saw your post below.

Here are some other sports too.

Boxing would be Raging Bull and Rocky
Nascar would be Days of Thunder & Talladega nights (Maybe Stroker Ace)
Ice Skating would Blades of Glory & Ice Castles
Golf would be Caddy Shack & Happy Gilmore
Soccer would be Victory & Bend It like Beckham

Any other suggestions?

bowling - King Pin, Big Lebowski

Ping Pong - Balls of Fury, Anyone who has a Thai girl doing a ping pong ball trick on tape!!

Arm Wrestling - Over the Top, Who knows?

the natural for baseball and NOT the bad news bears.....field of dreams is better too.

the fish that saved pittsburgh over hoop dreams.

you never saw space jam?

Rawkstar - You chose the wrong movies to argue this one with... I left you a lot of movies that would have made this a real fun TD. Forfeit now or completely revamp your choices.

Space Jam = Greatest Sports Movie In History

September 25, 2009  11:10 AM ET

I agree with Buttman... Right should have used a very different list of movies but with what he chose he has no shot unless people feel sorry for him.

Now I do disagree with Bad News Bears as Kook58 said but for the most part I think Buttman got it right. Maybe Remember the Titans over Rudy only cause it was also a true story and it dealt with blacks and whites coming together. The Race Card is a powerful movie topic.

Maybe they will feel sorry for me... or maybe they will have better taste in movies than you do!!!

September 25, 2009  11:27 AM ET

Wow. Right isn't even close with any of those choices.

September 25, 2009  11:30 AM ET

it is amazing to me how many people fail to see I was obviously joking. Oblivious... haha!!!

September 25, 2009  11:31 AM ET

i figured with a name like Buttman this was gonna be spun into some sort of comical TD, but It appears he is a very straight forward ass man!!

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I don't see how people saw what you wrote as true statements. Too comical to be true.

Baseball: The Natural & Bull Durham (runner up: Field of Dreams)
Football: North Dallas 40 & The Program
Hockey: Slapshot & Youngblood (rip Patrick Swayze)
I don't watch basketball but you gotta go with Teenwolf in there somewhere

September 25, 2009  11:56 AM ET

When talking sports movies, we should always add boxing as the 5th sport. There are probably more good boxing movies than any other sport.

I do hope your not counting any Rocky movies after, say, part 2....

Would you put Youngblood above Miracle? I tossed that one around also.

Ping Pong - Does it have to be a Thai girl? I went to Tijuana Mexico and well she did a trick with the ping pong ball but she wasn't Thai. Does that still count???
