I Want Payback: Best NHL Rivalry

I was stupid in our first meeting bosox. I want payback now and i think i can take you down! I want to throwdown about the best NHL rivalry. The Best NHL Rivalry is between the Colorado Avalanche and the Detroit Red Wings. They have so much history, and that Stanley cup finals where the goalies faught was simply amazing!

You lost to me the first time and now your going to challenge me again. You want to argue about the best NHL rivalry and you chose the Colorado Avalanche and the Detroit Red Wings. Are you trying to hand me a win? Here's what I say: Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens. It is one of the oldest rivalries in the NHL as well as it is probably more bitter than any other. One stanley cup fight doesnt make a rivalry a good one.

i think that right now the best rivalry is the avs and the red wings. Its new and exciting, while the bruins one is just old and boring. I would much rather watch the start of what is an amazing rivalry then watch a rivalry of two teams that have been around forever.

The reason I think that boston and montreal have the best rivalry is because it is considered one of the originial six. Any true NHL fan knows what I'm talking about here. Also in this rivalry they have it has been ongoing the longest and they have also played more games against each other than any two other teams. Also they have met up in the playoffs 30 times.

The rivalry actually dates back a good amount of time when the Colorado Avalanche were the Quebec Nordiques

i dont see how your rivalry can out-do mine, especially when you waste your last statement like that. Another reason i think that the boston/montreal one is great is because it was rekindled last year when the Canadiens signed former Bruin Sergei Samsanov to a deal. This just created more disgust between the two teams, and a better rivalry.

Sorry, Detroit and Colorado while a good rivalry is not the best. This rivalry only goes back to 1996 when Draper was checked into the boards. They had a good rivalry for a few years only. Also they would not have fought in the Stanley Cup Finals because they are both in the Western Conference. I'm from Detroit and hate the Avalanche but this is NOT the best rivalry in the NHL.
