I havn't watched a single game of the world series. I dislike the Yankees with a passion and the Phillies just arn't my team .. I know they are loaded w/ talent.. Just to name a few.. CC Sabath, Jimmy Ro, Mark Texiera, A.J. Burnett from Toronto, my dude Ryan Howard (won hr derby pool one time) , and of course Derek Jeter.. I just happened to bypass A-Roid.

The reasons i don't like baseball being 26 years of age..

i'll keep it simple..

There were two BIG HITS for me that put baseball on the backburner.. The 1994 STRIKE.. horrible.. i will say that year i did catch a foul ball off Greg Maddux's bat in atl which is lost now.. dam*.. But it was still horrible the strike hit when i was so young and passionate about the sport...

The 2nd thing that interfered with me and baseball was the notorious HR DERBY of a season in Mark McgWire and Sammy Sosa.. I truthfully enjoyed the HeL* out of that BUT when i heard they had cheated the sport and made us look like fools... I just really gave up..

Cry me a river right?

or

does somebody else understand.. ??

Who's Brandon Vera?

Also, Bonds and Clemens the TWO best players of my brilliant life.. are associated w/ the dam* needles..

I do appreciate Cal Ripkin Jr., Ken Griffey Jr. , Nolan Ryan, Kirby Puckett, Cecil Fielder, Mike Mussina, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Ryne Sandberg, Frank Thomas, Fred McGriff, Ozzie Smith, Barry Larkin, Dennis Eckersly, Lee Smith, JOe carter, Deion Sanders .. ha.. for real.. , Bentiago Santiago, Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, Jeff Blauser, Will Clark, and Tony Gwynn.

I like baseball but like i said.. it's on the backburner..

3 strikes and it's out.. lol

I might be stuck in times but i think i have a valid point..

just agree dam* it..

Oh yeah, for the silly clown..

Go back to the Fun house..

I mean come on.. they were injecting needles.. that's not normal

November 1, 2009  10:48 PM ET

no its not normal but you kinda have to look at the positives that run rejuvinated baseball and got fans back interested in baseball

where is san... ?

Haha I like your story about the greg maddux ball.

November 1, 2009  10:56 PM ET

Wait, so what am I arguing? haha

November 2, 2009  12:51 AM ET

steroids didn't ruin baseball...if anything they helped it recover from the strike quicker and got many fans back into it - I can't stand the whole "purist" argument...the reality is that most fans don't care and personally I wouldn't care if they ALL did steroids and we saw more HRs, 120mph fastballs, and new records all over -

people are so obsessed about career recordbooks...thats the only reason this stuff matters

Sounds like a roy td :)

So it made that big of an impression on you when you were 11 years old? I don't think I can remember very much when I was 11. If you are a baseball fan then you like the sport regardless of what the players do.

I remember getting crushed by the '94 strike. That year, I blew out my shoulder in a pickup basketball game and ruined my baseball career.... All I wanted to do was play baseball when I grew up and here were all the ballplayers, playing ball every day like I wanted to and I was unable to do now, making millions and that just wasn't enough for them.
I don't know when I started watching again, I think it might have been the 02 World Series

Steroids were illegal. They were, and are an illegal drug to use without a prescription. Just because they played ball didn't make it legal. I'm tired of people saying they were not illegal at that time.
