lets face it he went 15 of 18 125 yards and a td

chris johnson may of won the game for them but vince young coming in and starting the game 4 for 4 helped give the titans a spark that may help them save thier season from being a complete disaster.

Vince young showed the ability to manage the game and not look to make big plays happen everytime

would the titans have beat the jaguars with collins no way

his last start he played the pats whose pass d is average

he went 2-12 for -7 yards and 1 pick that is worse than JaMarcus Russell has ever did

Lets face it, his line played exceptionally, well allowing CJ to run for over 200 yards.

While the D had an ok outing stopping tha pass, MJD ran all over them, all 8 attempts of him. Most of his attempts were over 10 yards, including his 80 and 79 yard TD runs, the only points JAX put on the scoreboard.

But I credit this win to The D, and of course the obvious CJ.

The D managed to hold off the jacksonville O and only allowed the 2 big runs and no other points, even managing to block a PAT.

The titans managed to have over 300 rushing yards while the D managed to pick off Garrard twice, and sack him 4 times.

The Defense was always the big thing in Tennesee which was why Hanesworth was such a big thing, with him gone it seemed like the titans lost their spark. The success of Kerry Colins as a game manager was because of the D and while they did allow 2 big runs they managed to hold off everything else while letting CJ to score 2 TD's to seal away the game.

VY did what he needed to do, not turn the ball over, and he did his job which led to the win.

Forfeited Turn

Does anyone like the name change?

I kinda do, it's like foreskin, but beefskin.

other than that...VY didn't spark anyone.

and on a side note maybe Kerry Collins will go nuts again like he did to Musin Muhammad.
(for those that don't know he called Musin a N-word. then got kicked off the team)

HAHA! Jinx!

It's about time someone did.

the jags beat the titans in the first game they played each other this year

stopping MJD doesnt.

Did I miss the part where Vince Young played defense?

The titans are ranked 32nd in defense, and the "average" d of the pats is ranked 5th... more to a slow start, and a single win than Vince Young going 4-4 to start a game.

Fisher is too good of a coach to go 0fer for too long.

they split the series.

I wouldn't get too excited about Young yet. I'd love to see him succeed, but if he only had 18 attempts and they tailored the plays around what he was best at, it's not exactly a resounding success. Not a failure, but a wait and see.

November 3, 2009  03:51 PM ET

but he still provided a different atmosphere than collins did and the change seems to have sparked the titans at least for that game

When a RB played the way CJ did, that sparked the team more than VY did.

November 3, 2009  04:05 PM ET

Huh? Right didn't disclaim anything about VY being a "Spark"?

November 3, 2009  04:42 PM ET

Young hasn't proven yet that he can "carry" his team to victory. He's easily proven that he can "hand off" a game to his back or the other team when he isn't turning the ball over.

lol right

If VY can become a game manager like he was for this game, he will be way more dangerous than he would if he was all crazy like he used to be. With Chris Johnson in the backfield, he will have more people in the box and allow him to throw it more freely. But he has the mobility that Collins doesn't so you can't stack up the box against CJ because Young could just run around the end.

Its too early to tell, but I would like to believe yanksnumero on this, but I really think at this point it was the D like beef said.
